Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for a part-time, entry-level position in Durham, NC.

hi all!

i am moving from nashville, tn to raleigh at the start of november. i'm from high point, nc originally so i have a few connections already but wanted to post here in hopes of finding more specific job boards and recommendations.

my most relevant experience is my role in hospitality, front of house in fine dining as well as nationally ranked bars. i don't want to necessarily stay working in restaurants which is why i am looking for a role more personal such as a PA or house manager. i also love a more physical job (12 hours a day running around has ruined my attention span lol) and i would be open to that.

we are moving for my partners job, and while a job for me isn't necessarily top of mind, i do enjoy being busy and want my own income. any advice is welcome, TIA!

This morning, I was trying to figure out why the career fair was canceled , and they said they moved it by a whole month, which doesn't help a lot of people. I've been unemployed for a few months now. But I know others are probably way worse off than me. So I looked up to see how many people signed up to go to the career fair.

46,800 people in two weeks sign up to come to the career fair for a job. That is a whole city of people! So I just wanna write this letting others know that if you do get a job , you are a very lucky person , because right now , this area is having too many layoffs or too many people coming to it. I can't imagine what employers are doing with the job applications that are coming in. I also feel that there is way too many fake applications to apply to online. If there was that many people willing to show up to a building for a couple hours, how many applications are there online applying to those positions that are flooding out the 1-3 people they need to hire. Also some of these open job positions are open way too long in my opinion and should be only open for like a week.
