Hi, r/southcarolina! This year there's a Democrat on the ballot in every one of South Carolina's 124 House districts, which hasn't happened in more than 50 years (see the note on history below). In 2024, 54 of those districts didn't have a Democrat on the ballot at all. So instead of a hundred separate AMAs, we're doing one for the whole class, three days before early voting opens.
31 of them are in! Each candidate answers you from an account the mods have verified. I tried to take a picture with all of them holding up their signs. It was an experience.
Leave your question now and the class answers Friday, Oct. 16, from 1 to 5 p.m.
If you know it, start your comment with your district number ("District 99:"). Don't know your district? Type your address at bluewavesc.org and it'll tell you, along with who's running there.
Early voting runs Oct. 19 to 31, Monday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can find your early voting center at scvotes.gov.
A big thank you to the moderators of r/southcarolina for helping us pull this off!
The 2026 South Carolina House Democratic Candidates AMA
- District 121 (Beaufort, Colleton), Shannon N. DeLoach, u/ShannonDeLoachSC
Edit, a note on history: The title says "more than three decades," but it's actually been more than 50 years. In March, South Carolina Democrats had a candidate for every statewide office for the first time in 32 years, and one in every state House district for the first time in more than 50. So while both statements are true, the title actually understates it. Either way, it's been way too long and we're glad everyone is running!
Hi, r/southcarolina. I’m Vincent Coe, the Democratic nominee for State Treasurer!
I'm working with the mods here on a bug that wouldn't let me schedule this in advance. So anyways, I'll be here at 1pm answering your questions this afternoon. Go ahead and get them in and I'll get right back to you.
I grew up in Darlington County, studied finance at the University of South Carolina and earned a law degree at Case Western Reserve. I trained as a bank examiner at the FDIC, examined banks for the Federal Reserve and later became a vice president at a bank, where I was its fair lending officer.
The State Treasurer is basically your banker. The office holds the state’s money, invests it and pays its bills. In that office, the books were off by $1.8 billion, and 33 state senators voted to remove Treasurer Curtis Loftis. I’m running to clean it up.
What I’ll do:
- Open the books, with a public report every month on every account, investment and fee the office oversees.
- Get taxpayers a better deal by putting the state’s banking contracts out for competitive bids.
- Give South Carolina’s community banks a fair shot at holding the state’s money.
- Get people their unclaimed money back faster, with more of it mailed automatically.
- Serve all 46 counties, with better banking and investment help for every county, city and school district.
I’ll be here Wednesday, Oct. 7, starting at 1 p.m. Eastern, and I’m answering these myself as long as I can. Ask me about the office, the $1.8 billion, my plan or anything else.
Early voting runs Oct. 19 to 31, Monday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Type your ZIP at vincentforsc.com/vote to find your early voting centers.
South Carolina is not for sale. Darline having the same last name as Lindsey doesn’t make her qualified to represent us. A nepo sibling with no relevant experience is an insult to South Carolina.
edited to add I mistyped it was SCvotes.gov; I also added image I thought I attached earlier*****
checked my voter registration and it showed record not found.. I called the number provided and was told the website has been having “glitches” and I was indeed registered. When I told her I would be sure to check my vote too because I’ve heard the machines have also been “glitching” and switching votes.. she said yes, she had heard that was happening and to verify the print out. Document these things if you see them and tell a friend to tell a friend.
Division and keeping others down will never make you strong
If you feel angry and full of hate, there is help. Ask for help. You too deserve to be happy.
Hate will only leave you sad, alone, and afraid.
I love my fellow Americans. I love their differences. I learn so much everyday from listening to those who are different than me. It is what makes us stronger together. I hope more of my fellow Americans can find this hope and love as well.
Annie Andrews proposed a two-year moratorium on the development of data centers in SC. This would give our legislators time to study the pros and cons of allowing data centers to be built in our state. This is a mature and wise decision to pump the brakes before we give away our natural resources.
Conversely, Darline Graham wants to go full steam ahead with data centers, without considering impacts on SC residents. Data centers require huge amounts of water and electricity to operate, and that drain on our resources will negatively impact our lives. Graham is in bed with these corporations, and her acceptance of $1.5 million from them today tells you who she really cares about. Hint: it’s not the people of SC.
This is a super PAC that only supports candidates who promise to help get money out of politics. They came up with nonpartisan index that grades each candidate based on where they get campaign funds from, how much stocks they own, and their willingness to support legal framework: to end politicians from trading stocks while in office, no corporate PAC Money, ban lobbying for a certain time period for former members, and overturning citizens united.
Highly encouraged you to check it out and share with your friends/ neighbors. This SHOULD be something we all can agree on red, blue, purple— keeping our politicians out of profiting off their positions and stop corporations from buying politicians.
Shocker, Graham isn’t doing well in this category. Andrews is a great candidate, better than NC Candidate Cooper because she is not taking money from corporations. I hope y’all are able to convince people this is the way to go.
I voted early, and got a different I Voted sticker than I was used to. Celebrating the 250th seemed fine, but then I started seeing folks in this reddit posting their blue and white stickers, the kind I'd collected the past few years.
What sticker did all you other early voters receive?

Not really sure what WIS was going for with this article. They said Brian Myers has sparked “some debate online” and basically showed each candidate for the same amount of time. They did not directly address any of the allegations and just took him at face value when he said he is a Columbia resident. I’ve seen other outlets are reporting his business is facing dozens of liens, he owes thousands to the county and his only response has been to redirect towards his election platform.
Say what you want about the polls. But woah Annie truly does have a chance. Even if you wanna dismiss the polls you can’t dismiss that the atmosphere surrounding this race is different. People are starting to notice nationally.
GO VOTE!!!!
Ps: I was a lifelong republican all my life. I started to use my noggin & voted all blue this election. To all the republicans/independents here on the fence—if I can do it, you can do it.
