On an impulse decision after a week of no sleep, I found this lil guy on kijiji. I had done zero research and had no idea he should have been a lot more money.
Iām guessing they were bad breeders but I went to āmeetā him and took him home within 5 minutes. He was only 8.5 weeks old! I didnāt realize how much I was getting myself into at this age. He needs constant supervision and had a bout of diarrhea from the food change for a few days so I had to SPRINT to my bathroom to run a little sink bath every time he went to the litter box in case he was going #2⦠because he needed a bum and paws bath each time.
One week later, and I have no regrets. Even though heās needed some help, heās so good with the litter box and is the sweetest boy who follows me everywhere. Iām worried about leaving him alone but Iām going to start working up to it next week with 5, 15, 30, 45 and then 60 minutes in the bathroom each day with an interactive food toy so that I can at least leave him to go to the gym! Luckily I work from home. Iām worried about separation anxiety because he should have been with his mom and litter mates a few more weeks.
Any advice welcome, but overall very excited to be a part of the ragdoll community, Iām already absolutely in love with him.

Please help me decide if I should get a second ragdoll! I got my Ragdoll a little over a month ago and I am absolutely in love. He is so sweet kind cuddly playful curious (and adorable), everything you would hope. I think I always expected to get a second but not this soon. My breather told me that sheās going to have another litter in about two weeks and I can get one if I like. I absolutely love my breeder and she retires and one to two years. My Ragdoll is home alone probably 2 to 3 days of the week. I have a camera and will sometimes notice him meowing at the door but seems like he spends a lot of the day playing and sleeping. He seems happy to me but I am sure him having a friend would help those days alone. I think my thing it really feels like me and my partner have a really sweet family us three with her kitty. I keep on reading online that itās good to get a second one when youāre first still young. I guess I just worry that we have such a strong bond forming with her first one and getting another get in the way with that. Would appreciate all thoughts!! Thank you!!

We take our two cats out for walks, partly out of guilt, because we believe they're happier getting outside and discovering the world. Both go out without a leash: one follows the other, and the one with the red light follows my whistle. Do you think these walks really make them happy, or is giving them love and playing with them enough?
Sometimes after work, the routine of going out is really demanding, and sometimes it's raining. But these two little guys always get sad and protest in front of the door to let us know it's time for a walk. Do you think they'll be upset with us on the days we don't go out?
P.S. The lights are because when we're out, they don't want me too close, but I want to see where they are when it's dark.

I just adopted this precious girl, Princess Waffles, last week and I am obsessed with her š„¹. She's my first cat as an adult and first ever ragdoll and I can't get over how adorable and sweet she is. Anyone considering adopting an adult ragdoll, do it!!!
I'm wondering what toys your ragdolls love? She is obsessed with the wand toy, but I'd like to find other things for her to play with when I'm busy with work. I have springs for her which so far she isn't interested in, and one of those flopping fish but she's scared of it when it moves lol

Itās my dream to have my own cat. I had cats growing up but havenāt had one as an adult.
Iāve been looking into adopting a ragdoll and Iāve seen a lovely 11 year old ragdoll looking for a home. Part of me loves the idea of giving a home to an older cat, but another part of me is scared that she may not live very long and I will be heart broken. She doesnāt look old and doesnāt have any health issues that Iām aware of. However when my previous cats passed away from old age it was devastating.
Does anyone have any advice?

I got my kitten 8 weeks ago. From day 1 she has had the worst diarrhoea Iāve ever seen. Maybe going 40-50 times a day passing tiny amounts.
Sheās had 5 days of Panacur. An anti-inflammatory injection, an anti-nausea injection. A course of antibiotics which did improve it a lot. Sheās on prescription gastrointestinal food. Adding Fortiflora in. I got her pro-kolin but she hates it and itās a whole drama to give it to her.
I took a 3 day faecal sample in to the vet 8 days ago but no results yet.
Iām praying they find some parasite and a course of medicine will get rid of it. If itās all clear then other possible causes are scary.
I just wanted somewhere to vent. And maybe some miracle thatās helped someone elseās kitten.
Sheās worth it and I love her. Sheās fitted in to my home so perfectly ā¤ļø

I adopted my princess some months ago and till today we got a nice connection, but one thing she hates is being held. She loves getting near to my arms, sleeps with me, sits between arms when I play on pc and stuff but tries to escape immediately if I hold her, sheās so affectionate and loves getting petting but I am not sure how to approach her to make her get used to being snuggly snuggly with me? I know some cats hate it and never do it but as I know she used to do it with her previous owners. šø

Iām finally ready to get a cat next year. Iāve been dying to have my own baby but many life situations had made me postpone the decision.
Iām now financially stable, with a very flexible job that I work from home twice a week, and just overall at a better place where Iād have space for all the cat stuff! lol
The thing is, I am dead set on the fact that I NEED a cuddly cat.
My mom has a 15yo orange little shit who I am obsessed with and would die for, and heās very independent, doesnāt like to be picked up. However, he does love to cuddle! He will lay on your lap and purr for days as long as heās not airlifted!
I need THAT. I NEED a fur baby to cuddle with me or just lay on my lap and make biscuits hahaha
That being said, I obviously cannot get a kitten and would have to get a young adult cat with a known cuddly personality . How do people find adult ragdolls? I do look at shelters nearby but Iāve never seen a Ragdoll, and breeders only have kittens.
Iād love to adopt a stray orange little shit myself one day, but my first baby has to be a ragdoll as itās my dreaaaam!
Any tips for fining a young adult cat?
