A candidate we want to hire has been in Qatar for less than one year, and His current sponsor is saying that he cannot transfer sponsorship to another company because he has not completed one year with them, claiming this is “as per labour law.”

Hi everyone! I’m an expat currently pregnant and expecting to give birth in Qatar in January.

I got married in 2025 and renewed my passport using my married name. However, my QID still shows my single/maiden name. I’m planning to apply for the name change, but I’m worried it might not be completed before I give birth.

Has anyone experienced this situation? I’d appreciate any advice on the following:

1. ⁠Which name was written on the baby’s Qatar birth certificate—the name on your passport or your QID?
   
2. ⁠Did the different names cause any issues or delays with the Report of Birth/Birth Certificate, baby’s passport, or Qatar residency/QID?
   
3. ⁠Were your old passport and marriage certificate enough to explain the difference, or were additional documents required?
   
4. ⁠If your QID name change was still in progress, were you able to proceed with your baby’s documents?

I’ll also check with the hospital, our Embassy and MOI, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar. Thank you!

Last night I couldn’t sleep because of motorcycles running back and forth in front of my house woth extreme speeds (its 150km+) i believe because this stretch of highway doesn’t have radar cameras, is there a way to report them or call the cops or anything next time this happens?

My Mastercard Travel Pass app shows 6 free lounge visits, but Sharjah Airport (SHJ) isn't listed.

Has anyone used either of these cards for free lounge access, especially at Sharjah Airport?

Or are the complimentary lounge visits only available at Hamad International Airport in Qatar?

Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has used these cards.
