Hi everyone! I’m an expat currently pregnant and expecting to give birth in Qatar in January.

I got married in 2025 and renewed my passport using my married name. However, my QID still shows my single/maiden name. I’m planning to apply for the name change, but I’m worried it might not be completed before I give birth.

Has anyone experienced this situation? I’d appreciate any advice on the following:

1. ⁠Which name was written on the baby’s Qatar birth certificate—the name on your passport or your QID?
   
2. ⁠Did the different names cause any issues or delays with the Report of Birth/Birth Certificate, baby’s passport, or Qatar residency/QID?
   
3. ⁠Were your old passport and marriage certificate enough to explain the difference, or were additional documents required?
   
4. ⁠If your QID name change was still in progress, were you able to proceed with your baby’s documents?

I’ll also check with the hospital, our Embassy and MOI, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar. Thank you!

For me it was the same Thursday vibe, the Karak appreciation for cars etc that immediately sent signals that once we’re done with school this is the person that I’m gonna live with.

It’s genuinely so frustrating how restaurants are using AI-generated food pictures now. I checked THREE different restaurants and all of them had the EXACT SAME picture for mac and cheese, just with different branding slapped on it.

As a customer, how am I supposed to know what I’m actually ordering if the pictures don’t even show the real food? The whole point of having pictures on a menu is to help you decide what to get, but now it feels like a guessing game because you have no idea what the actual dish looks like. I don’t expect some professional fancy food photography, but JUS SHOW ME WHAT I’M PAYING FOR. Why am I gambling with my money because you couldn’t take a picture of your own food???

I have both CBQ Titanium Mastercard and Diners Club credit cards.

My Mastercard Travel Pass app shows 6 free lounge visits, but Sharjah Airport (SHJ) isn't listed.

Has anyone used either of these cards for free lounge access, especially at Sharjah Airport?

Or are the complimentary lounge visits only available at Hamad International Airport in Qatar?

Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has used these cards.
