General/Rant How are you guys in Pune IT dealing with this uncertainty?
Not sure if it’s just me, but I know many IT folks are feeling the same anxiety.
The last 3 years have been exhausting. AI is advancing so fast that even working for a big brand no longer feels like job security.
Earlier, we planned our careers years ahead. Now, sometimes, even the next 3 months feel uncertain.
EMIs, kids’ education, parents, family responsibilities… life doesn’t pause just because technology is changing.

General/Rant Mfkers started this at 6:30 in the morning
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Thousands of people live in a radius of 100m from this bullshit and this has been going on since last 4-5 weeks.
Usually they start this jackhammer around 9AM and keep at it till 6PM. 6 days a week.
I'm fortunate enough that I don't have to bear this for 5 of the days. But the weekends are such that I need to use ANC with white noise background just to exist.

General/Rant Anyone in Aundh experiencing reddish water?
Hey everyone! For people living in Aundh, have you noticed any reddish or brownish discoloration in your tap water recently? Just trying to understand if this is happening in multiple areas or if it's an isolated issue.
If you've noticed it, please mention your locality and since when you've been experiencing it. Would appreciate any insights!

General/Rant Disturbance from Laughter Therapy
Disturbance from Laughter Therapy

Every morning, a bunch of old timers start their laughter therapy sharp at 6 30. They cackle and scream so much I have stopped setting an alarm in the morning. I have tried requesting them to muffle a little, but they pulled the Marathi card on me about how outsiders like me have no say in this and me spoiling Pune as an outsider.
Apparently them doing this in a "public" park gives them all the rights in the world
I even told them that I end up sleeping late due to work schedule but these oldies tell me to leave my job and find something 9 to 5.
This has been going on for 3 months now amd I wake up every morning with an irritation.
Looking for ideas from the community in stopping them or at least making them amicable enough? Will police be of at least some help in this matter or will they not lift a finger until the situation escalates?

SCAM Alert Uber drivers at Pune Airport Aeromall demanding meter fares and extra parking charges?
Had a pretty annoying experience at Pune Airport’s Aeromall pickup point today.
Booked an Uber Premier, got a driver assigned, and almost immediately received a call from him saying:
- Parking charges would be extra, over and above the Uber fare.
- He’d charge by the meter, not the fare shown on Uber.
Like, what the actual fuck? What’s the point of booking through Uber then?
I immediately walked over to the Uber stall at Aeromall and asked the guy there about this. He confirmed that parking charges are already included in the Uber fare and there’s absolutely no reason for drivers to demand meter-based fares.
He also showed me how to report such drivers directly through the Uber app. Apparently, you can report this behaviour for previous rides too, which is good to know.
Coming back to my driver, he asked ME to cancel the ride. I refused and told him to cancel it himself. He wouldn’t do it either, so we had a little standoff. Eventually, he cancelled it himself.
Now, a few questions for fellow Punekars:
How do you guys deal with this meter nonsense? It seems to be getting ridiculously common.
If you’ve already paid extra, does Uber actually refund the difference when you report it?
What’s the best way to handle these drivers without wasting 15–20 minutes arguing or playing the cancellation game?
And genuinely, WHO ARE THE PEOPLE AGREEING TO PAY THESE METER FARES? Because surely this wouldn’t keep happening if nobody entertained it?
Yeh rickshaw waale ab cab chalane lage kya? 😭
I have no problem paying a fair price, but if I’ve booked through an app at an agreed fare, why the hell am I expected to negotiate all over again at the pickup point?
Would love to hear how others are handling this, especially frequent Pune Airport travellers. Any tricks to avoid this nonsense?

AskPune Looking for an old friend from Pune
Hello everyone,
I’m trying to reconnect with an old friend I lost touch with about 4 years ago when I lost my Snapchat account. His name is Ahmed Khan. He is originally from Pune but was studying and working in Mumbai when we used to talk
If you are reading this, I’m your friend from Algeria We used to talk a lot about movies, working out at the gym, and food (you love chocolate a lot ). I remember you started working right after you graduated in Mumbai
I’ve tried searching for your name on social media multiple times but haven't had any luck. I really hope to reconnect. If anyone knows him or if this sounds like you, please reach out

Pet Care/Adoption a little heartbroken about the bias she’s facing, even when she’s the perfect cat (adoption)
up for adoption in Pune/Mumbai/Bangalore (based in Pune)‼️
Penny has been getting overlooked because of three reasons: she’s not a kitten anymore (as if one year old cat is not young), she’s a female tabby (unfortunately, cats also face such biases) and one very strange reason - she looks loved enough to skip over because people think she’ll definitely find someone, let me look for some other cat. Let me tell you, she has not gotten a single lead despite days of search.
About Penny:
Penny is a 1 year old female tabby cat. She’s litter trained, dewormed, vaccinated and sterilised. She’s extremely friendly and easy to handle. She’s based in Pune but can travel to Mumbai and Bangalore.
She’s used to staying alone for a few hours that are compatible with work timings but she’ll also be a great companion to wfh folks. She usually sleeps throughout the afternoon.
She doesn’t like being confined to one room/limited space and needs to have access to the whole house to feel comfortable. Penny’s always been an indoor cat and should continue to remain so.
She’s very playful and some of her favourite toys are catnip mouse, feather toys, balls and having cat trees and cat perches and shelves since she loves heights as well. Cats are generally a huge fan of vertical space and so is Penny. She’s also a cat tv lover. She needs attention towards playtime from her adopter. This means you have to dedicate some time before and after office to play with her and tire her out.
Penny can be a night owl but as long as she has access to the whole house and is comfortable, she understands when people are sleeping and eventually settles down too.
Penny currently eats Smylo wet food (two packets in a day, one for breakfast and one for dinner) along with Royal Canin dry food for lunch. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable with providing good nutrition - so they either stay on these brands/diet or switch to other higher quality brands.
Penny loves an organised environment and doesn’t do well with unhygienic spaces and behaviours like not cleaning her litter box and bowls frequently.
Penny will be a great choice for first time adopters/people who have experience with cats. She’ll require 2-3 days to decompress and a week to properly settle down but it all depends on her pace.
Reason for putting her up for adoption: Penny was rescued last Diwali because she got separated from her mother due to firecrackers. She was adopted in March but due to the adopter’s neglect, she ran away from the house twice and we had to get involved again when we understood that they weren’t actively searching for her. We’re cat rescuers and therefore can’t keep every cat we rescue because then we’ll run out of resources to help others.
Penny has stayed with multiple fosters and we’re pretty confident in her behaviour as a single cat.
Adoption formalities are mandatory. We’re looking for serious adopters - people who know they can provide a stable environment and can commit to a pet for their lifespan. We’re not looking for students or bachelors who are not sure of their future plans as adopters.
For more information, please DM @_bbpaws on Instagram or text 7043782899 on WhatsApp (no calls)
