I wanted PrusaSlicer on my Googlebook, so I ported the 3.0 alpha to Android as a real app. Itās not a remote desktop and not a Linux/X11 container: PrusaSlicerās own interface runs natively on OpenGL ES.
What works:
Open models (Files app, āOpen withā, share, drag & drop), slice, G-code preview, export
Prusa Account login, Prusa Connect and Printables. āOpen in PrusaSlicerā puts the model straight on the bed.
Preferences, preset comparison, unsaved-changes dialog
Touchpad: pinch to zoom, two-finger swipe to pan or scroll lists
Two APKs:
x86_64: Googlebooks and other x86 devices. This is what I used.
arm64: phones, tablets, ARM Chromebooks. So far Iāve only tested it in the emulator. If you have a device with a Mali, Exynos, Snapdragon, Tensor or Adreno , Iād love to hear whether it starts and renders correctly. Screenshots of any glitches help a lot.
Limits: based on an alpha, sideload only, the APK is about 260 MB.
APKs and source (AGPL): https://github.com/NilsN3DP/prusaslicer-android-gbos/releases
Feedback welcome!

The MK4S kit is $709. The fairly new Bambu Lab X2DC with AMS combo is $789.
Iām not sure how Prusa can compete with this. I wish they could, because I love them, but the competition is getting really hard!

Around five weeks ago, one of my Prusa XL's bearings failed and I contacted Prusa support. After hearing literally only positive things about them, I was honestly curious whether the support would be THAT second-to-none good. And yes, I had a great talk with a competent person and we agreed to swap a few parts, which should probably solve the issue. I got a confirmation that the parts are kinda on the way and that I would get more details on the shipment "in the next days".
That was five WEEKS ago. Since then, I've contacted support a couple of times to get an update on the parts. Every time it was a nice "oh, we are sorry... don't know what takes so long... logistics... BUT the parts will be on the way in a few days".
More days and weeks passed, as did one of the hotend thermistors, which then put my printer completely out of order a week ago. Same procedure:
"Hi, I have a problem with... also, I've been waiting for my parts, or AT LEAST an update, for like a month."
"Oh, sorry to hear that... sure, let me see, hmm, will be on the way in the next days."
(SpongeBob narrator: "A few days later")
No parts, no update, no printer, but a nasty uni thesis deadline for which I kinda needed (and need, lol) a printer. So same chat again.
"Hi, it's getting frustrating..."
"Oh, sorry to hear that... sure, let me see, hmm, I see it's been a while."
"You don't say..."
"I will get back to you later today via mail with an update."
(SpongeBob narrator: "Later today")
Nothing.
And it really begins to absolutely bother me. That's literally a 5 grand printer with the enclosure, less than 2 years old. When my 250 EUR Bambu A1 broke, before I replaced it with the XL, it took two days to ship the parts and 2ā3 days for them to arrive. Without days of begging, reminding, etc. Is this considered "usual"? Or am I just too impatient?
Also, it really bothers me to do the "Karen wants to speak to the community manager" move, but honestly, I literally cannot afford (time- and money-wise) to have a 40 kg brick in my living room that should kinda do university stuff for me. I mean, it's not a machine that has been out of warranty for 5 years or so. It's literally a warranty claim (or now two).
Also, don't get me wrong, I enjoy using the XL more than any of the like 5 printers I've had in the last few years, and I fully support Prusa as a company. But I would just be thankful to have the printer working again. Colleagues were kinda surprised, since usually (at least when they had problems a few years ago) the issues were solved kinda instantly. Selling the XL and switching back to Bambu Lab is also an option, but I'm not really considering it at this point, since the XL was a long-term dream of mine. But if it's not possible to fix minor technical stuff under warranty in less than a month, I'd probably be better off selling it before something more important fails at some point.
So yeah... any help would be appreciated. Or any hints on how to contact Prusa in a way that actually leads to progress. Or maybe someone from Prusa support sees this and has an idea of what went wrong here.

So, just received my INDX after probably 8 months or so of delays and nonsense. Posting because I've seen so many mixed reviews at this point that I almost don't even want to put it on, just turn the other way, return it, and get a Snapmaker U1 or something...
Currently have an MK4s, Core one+, Anycubic Kobra Max 3, and a Core One Oak (This is more of a collection piece, I've only printed a couple things on it). I also have some other printers but the ones are the ones currently in the house and not storage.
Im a software engineer by trade, so needless to say what Josef Prusa has done for open source FDM I respect and greatly appreciate, but, I've had terrible issues with my core one + the last few months, my MMU3 on my mk4s literally took the better part of 8 months to finally get working right, and I just don't know if the Indx is even worth it at this point.
Any input from anyone with the INDX upgrade, or anything helpful at all really about whether or not to stick with Prusa or just worry about getting something that works when I need it to work.. Because I need it to work when I need it to work.

I have owned my MK3S+ for over 8 years after building it from a kit and I'm feeling it's time for an upgrade. Two of my biggest barriers to printing more are the slow bedslinger speed and hating the nozzle change process, both of which are resolved on most modern Core XY printers. I would like multi-material (and especially to play with multiple nozzle sizes during the same print) but I have no clue what I'm missing out on and I've survived this long with a single filament tool, manual color changes, and assembling prints out of different colored pieces.
I've been in research paralysis for a couple of weeks because it seems like there's no perfect solution on the market, and each one is asking for some sort of trade-off. Bambu's prices are obviously compelling but I don't think their closed-source ecosystem and DRM nozzles (lol) is something I can support. Qidi and Creality seem to generally have questionable QC, as I've experienced in the past with an out-of-square Creality I quickly returned. Building a custom Voron 2.4 with Stealthchanger is likely the path I would have gone down before having a baby, but I likely can't spare the 60-80 hours to build and calibrate it properly at this point.
I'm aware of the mixed reception of INDX and don't need to rehash it. I know Core One L+ will be a massive upgrade for my single material prints over MK3S+ and bring several QOL features, however paying $2300 for a single toolhead printer in 2026 almost seems crazy until you look at the tradeoffs other brands ask of you. I've never had an issue with Prusa, love their upgrade pathways and keeping things mostly open source. The only way I'd probably regret getting Core One L+ is if they can't iron out the kinks of INDX by the end of next year.
The Black Friday deal with free shipping ($250 savings for me) on non-INDX printers plus the $50 voucher is obviously meant to push the printer now, INDX later upgrade pathway. Anyone else go MK3S+ to Core One L+? I know Prusa has had issues in the past with several products and they all got solved eventually, so I should be a little more trusting but I just want to make sure I didn't overlook something in my consideration of the current printer market landscape.

Well, I guess I can re-print it...
Is the model on printables already?
EDIT: The model is not available publicly and support is not sure when / if it will be available. I will get a replacement. Eh, I had hoped to have it in orange for nice contrast

In preparation for the US Halloween holiday where kids go door to door in costume expecting candy, I'm adapting to the US economy's current sky high candy prices (especially chocolate) by offering something different. For those who choose, I have a variety of 3d printed fidget toys - spinning rings and infinity cubes each in an assortment of different colors. I've been printing batches that maxed out the print area on my MK4S.
Bonus picture: golden skulls using the Eryone silk gold filament I recently won in a contest here on Reddit

I made a small figurine of our beagle from a single photo using snapshapy, exported the STL and sliced it in PrusaSlicer at 0.12 mm with Prusament PLA. Body and face come out great, about 70 mm tall. The floppy ears hang down at a steep angle and every time they print as spaghetti or snap off when I remove organic supports. I've tried painting on supports and printing slower. Would tilting the model back 30 degrees help, or should I split the ears off and glue them on after?

We've just ordered the high end hot end for our work printers (Core one L) and looking to use it to print PPA-CF and PPS-CF.
Has anyone had their 400C high temp hot end arrive yet and tried it on PPS or PPA?
In theory it should work, but chamber temp seems to be the weak point with the Core One L.

It's shipping! Decided to wait for the black Friday deal and free shipping, glad I did. Eventually I'd like to get the 4 head INDX upgrade kit. Is this more expensive than your typical core XY? Absolutely! And for people who really want a cheap multi tool head, I think printers like the Snapmaker u1 are great. But for future upgrading and long term reliability, you just can't beat Prusa.

TL;DR: Drop your travel speed from 350mm/s to 330mm/s to mostly avoid a horrible new buzzing sound during travel moves.
The attached video shows the new buzzing that only occurs during travel moves under very precise circumstances. The video doesn't do it justice with how loud and harsh it is. Ā I levitated out of my chair the first time it happened, right after doing the Gen2 upgrade on my CORE One+.
I've been studying this off and on for nearly 2 months now, trying to figure out what exactly is resonating and, more importantly, how to stop it. Ā It turns out that it's caused by a firmware bug that hit the CORE One in version 6.8.1. Ā It's triggered by a bizarre sequence of events in both hardware and firmware. I don't know how common this buzzing is, but I've found at least one other person with it on Printables.
If you really must know, here is what needs to happen to trigger it:
When you have all of the above, this sequence of events happens in the firmware during a print:
A bug report about this has been submitted to Prusa, along with two patches that fix it. Ā I have no idea if or when this will get fixed in an official firmware release. Ā In the meantime, if you are experiencing this buzzing, you can dial down your travel speed in the slicer to mostly hide it. Reducing from 350 mm/s to 330 mm/s seems fairly reliable for me, but other printers might need something different.

I usually buy build plates for my Core One+ from AliExpress. For that I use ads for BambuLab A1 build plates.
Question for the community: Is anyone here buying build plate for Core One L from AliExpress? And if yes, how are you looking for plates? only by size or are you using a specific printer model for search?
Because reality is, looking for Prusa printers build plate we do not find many options available. but when we expand the search for other print models, we can find.
Thank you,

I made fan shroud in PPS-CF as a first test before printing more serious stuff. Amazing filament.

When a print finishes the bed has an awful grinding noise when it lowers. I don't particularly remember it being this bad prior to the firmware update 7.0.0, but it is definitely more noticeable. Do I need to grease something somewhere?

I printed a set of L shaped shelf brackets on my Prusa Core One in Prusament PETG, 0.2 mm layers, 4 perimeters, 30% gyroid infill, stock profile. They look great, but one cracked along a layer line after holding about 5 kg of books for a week. The crack runs right through the bend. I printed them standing up so the bend is vertical. Should I reprint lying flat, bump the nozzle temperature up 10 degrees, or add more perimeters? I'd rather not switch to ASA if PETG can handle it.

I'm having lots of problems with the filaments not loading properly they are not lining up with the filament selector. Is there a secret of how to cut the filament ends to make sure they go in the right way? I have a MK4S with the MMU3 that I assembled from a kit.

Hi, Iām having two issues with my INDX. The first issue is that the nozzle change on my INDX doesnāt always work smoothly. When I start a multi-material print, sometimes the nozzles arenāt retracted and reloaded properly and just fall out of the toolhead or the dock. The nozzle was completely replaced by support material, but similar issues are now occurring in Dock 2 with different nozzles. The pictures are from the original issue and are meant to show what happens when the nozzle isn't secured properly and falls out during printing.
My second problem is that the nozzle cleaner isnāt adjusted properly, so every time I load or unload filament, some filament gets stuck at the top, and the nozzle is never clean afterward. Iāve calibrated the nozzle cleaner so that the nozzle sits directly over the V-shaped slot and actually touches the groove. Unfortunately, the filament still doesnāt pass through the slotāit gets stuck at the top and ends up dirtying everything, including the entire V-shaped slot (you can see this when the nozzle is returned to the dock).
Could you help me with both of these issues? Have you had similar problems?
EDIT: New post - the old one didn't have any pictures

Im happy with the multi colour and singlebmaterial printing but ive got a couple of models planned that would really benefit with using PLA supports with PETG for the print due to overhangs.
Does anyone have any settings or tip?

Now that materials and spool management is a thing in Prusa Connect, I thought I'd try switching from Octoprint to Prusalink on my Mk3s+ with MMU2S. I already have a Core1 in Connect and seems easier to manage them both together.
When I go to tools I get this:

Assign is unavailable with a warning Load a spool on the printer before assigning a material. I have loading filament to the MMU on the printer in case it needed this to trigger it. I even tried loading to the print head.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this not fully supported? PrusaLink is a fresh install and don't think I have missed a newer firmware although it is possible...

Any help appreciated before I pop the Octoprint card back in!

After using the 8T indx for a while now, I've noticed the following.
When using Prusament and the corresponding profiles from PrusaSlicer 2.9.6, I always experience stringing and small zits.
If I lower the temperatures in the original profile by 15°, there are no stringing issues at all.
I wonder if this really only affects my machine. Actually, I donāt think so. Thatās why Iām surprised that Prusa isnāt having the same experience and lowering the temperatures in their profiles.

When I ordered on the day it was announced. the website said 2 week lead time. ok that's fair.
Well, we're on week 9 now, with zero communication and still no shipping date or info.
Definitely not happy with how Prusa handles these product releases and wish they would change how they operated, in order to provide better transparency.
