We just announced the new Nikon Z5IIC, everyday-carry mirrorless camera designed to make the move to full-frame photography more accessible. Built on the proven performance of the award-winning Z5II, the new Z5IIC combines a more compact, flat-top design with intuitive features like Scene Modes, helping those beginning their photography journey achieve great results. The “C” stands for casual- The Z5IIC is designed around a screen-first shooting experience that helps users remain immersed in the moment, with intuitive controls and automated features for those ready to learn/.
Main features include:
-Fast, precise subject detection AF built on deep-learning technology make it easy to capture sharp photos and video of fast-moving children, pets, sports and everyday moments. Also, new "fish" mode subject recognition.

This started as an environmental portrait. HS Senior photos. I love the way this crop turned out.
The crop is 1,667 x 938 off the full 45mp frame so pretty tight.

Other Cheap Way to Get CFB
Due to the AI impact ram price is ridiculously high nowadays. Getting a CFB card is gonna cost a few hundred dollars so I’d like to share some experience on getting cheap storage with an adapter. The principle is CFB is based on nvme protocol and 2230 ssd is physically smaller than the cfb. Getting a used 2230 ssd and put it in an adapter will make it super cheap. However, a lot of folks has been turned down by the negative reviews, like the reviews on the one I bought from Amazon.
I post it here not just because I use Nikon gear, but Nikon has been proved to got less comparability issue compared with Canon and other brands.
To get it usable and stable for Nikon camera, you have to consider three things:
SSD. Only certain ssd has been tested to work well with camera. Most popular one in the US is Samsung PM991a and WD PC SN530. They are oem ssd widely used in Steam Deck. You can find them very cheap on eBay because many people decided to upgrade their Steam Deck. I got mine used from eBay for $40. Please note that the SN530 has a variance model that was designed for Xbox, the WD CH SN530. That one doesn’t work for cameras.
Heat. I only used aluminum and bronze enclosures and applied a little bit of thermal paste. I always peel off the original ssd sticker to get better thermal conductivity. Please note that some SSDs just natively tend to be too hot for cameras, like the Crucial P310. My lessons tell you not to ever try it.
Erase. Format it on the computer to exFAT as MBR. Then put it in the camera and format it again.
So far I have been using 4 of this diy 512g cfb card heavily on my d850, z8 and zr and no issue at all. Also another interesting point is that the camera nowadays only runs pice3.0 but the ssd are mostly pcie4.0, which means they are future-proof as long as Nikon keeps the cfb slots.

Film Camera my new Nikon F2
I spent somewhere around 250 dollars to get a Nikon F2A with an DP-11 Photomic, plus a 35 f/2.5 lens, then I use the GPT image two to generate the perfect size for the Nikon F2 back and information for my most commonly used films (42x34 mm)

What should I buy? Buying a Z6 iii as a beginner
So I’m a complete beginner. I do love to take pictures with my iPhone but I want to start learning to take better pictures when I travel.
I mostly like to take pictures of buildings and landscapes. Once in a while I would like to take action shots. I also want to take night shots.
Assuming cost is not a concern… let’s say less of a concern. Would a z6 iii be recommended? Alternatively, I see some pretty good deals on used D7500.
Nikon has promo prices now so I’ve decided to skip the z5 ii since the z6 iii is not much more in price for now.
Thoughts and recommendations?

What should I buy? Is this a reasonable asking price?
All I've ever owned is a Nikon FE which I love, but I'm looking for a decent DSLR camera. I know the D3200 body itself is fairly cheap, but is this reasonable, or are they asking too much?
I'm still a beginner, but I like to shoot nature/landscapes, street/everyday stuff, as well as going to car shows. At some point I'd love to be able to have something that could handle motorsports as well, but that may be more in the future.
My budget is in the $300-400 range.
I tried to price everything in the for sale post myself, but figured I'd ask you all who are more experienced, and maybe could recommend something better to me based on my preferences!

Look what I've got After 3 years of getting into the Nikon film system, I’ve just gotten my first digital Nikon camera: D750
Not pictured: loads of manual focus Ai-s lenses, FM2n, FA, FE2, F80s, F90x, F801s (N8008s)
This is pretty much my Nikon autofocus system and lenses, with a few MF bodies for representation :)
Really excited about the D750, and the ability to use my full frame lenses. My mirrorless system is Fujifilm, but I was missing the ability to make use of full frame.
The D750 has still an incredible sensor for still photography, with still a leading dynamic range, and a decent low light noise performance. Dynamic range is almost more important to me though. As I am mainly shooting hybrid, digital and film, I am not often shooting in the dark anyhow. The IS/VR/VC lenses are definitely icing on the cake for film photography, in case I need it.
Can I just double down on the dynamic range bit? 14.5 stops. More than the Z8 (14.2), Z9 (14.4), and just below the Nikon Z7ii (14.7), and D850 (14.8). On PhotonsToPhotos the values are a bit lower. Why is dynamic range so important to me? Also part of the reason I shoot film. Highlight roll-off. I absolutely hate digital channel clipping, and anything that will help to protect highlights is super helpful. This is also the reason I like film a lot. You always get beautiful highlight roll-off, even if you lift the shadows, and overexpose a bit (on colour negative film).
I’ve gotten into the AF lenses, because you can get crazy deals on them right now, and they work on the Nikon film bodies (mostly, apart from the electronic aperture E lenses). The Tamron VC 24-70mm gen 1 for example I got for £80
I got this camera of MPB, after I bought and returned three D750 on EBay, which all had issues (scratched sensor, mould in the viewfinder, lens connection and shutter stuck “Err” error).
Apologies that there no photos yet from the camera, just of the camera, I just wanted to share my joy of having my first digital Nikon camera.
Honestly the latest of the Z5 series would also be tempting, but for digital I will stick with Fuji for now. Small and sharp lenses, amazing for hiking, great photos right out of camera.
I hope to use the D750 when I don’t need to watch every gram, and when high dynamic range becomes helpful, and maybe a bit in a studio.

Gear question Nikkor 70-210mm f/4.0-5.6 AF
ordered a 70-210mm F4-5.6 as a a replacement for my 80-200mm F2.8, where I noticed that it backfocused. it can be placed on my Nikon F90X as well (one of the reasons I keep going for these older analog lenses suitable for Nikon dslr)
but, is the 70-210 a good lens? would pay 105.55€ for it
cheers!

What should I buy? need advice
hi everybody i am a starter photographer and i am using a nikon d7200 with the 18-140mm lens and a primelens yongnuo 50mm 1.8. but the primelens is not sharp on 1.8 and now i am looking what i can to do for beautiful pictures on 1.8 to shoot. i would to shoot event, portrait , family, wedding. i was thinking about a 17-55 2.8 lens but at this moment not buyable. any suggestions ?
What should I buy? Nikon TTL flashes?
Not long ago I fooled around with my friend's Godox TT685 and I loved it. But it's a bit large and pricey for me. What i-TTL flashes are out there that are compact and relatively light that won't break the bank? I'm thinking used Nikon flashes from places like MPB. I'd mainly use it with the bounce card and with a horse shoe hood for macro photography. On a D750 frame
What should I buy? Used Z8 or Z9
Hey,
i got a Nikon D800 and want to upgrade. I use it every time with my Battery grip and love it and really dont mind the weight. I really like the Z8 with its features.
I found
Z8 with 60k shuttercount for 2350€
Z9 with a 800k shuttercount for 2500€
I know its an electronic shutter and not really anthing moving but what would you suggest to buy?
I would like to buy a Z8 battery grip if i go for the Z8 but i am really tempted by the Z9!

Gear question Nikon N75 Questions
Hi, have a new to me Nikon N75, and had some questions about it.
1) shouldn’t there be… more on the lcd with the camera turned on?
2) it doesn’t do anything when I load film in it, no sound no nothing. These are fresh batteries too. Did I just get unlucky?
