Politics My takeaway. Lauren’s campaign is pure ego and delusion and she called the electorate “an aroma.” Hatley squinted the whole time and is pro-book banning. Jerri Green is the only person with common sense and a grasp of the job. Marsha was a coward and no show.

Don't drive a million miles on this rumor but the kraft paper came off the door tonight and they're fully stocked and they're listed on Google as open.

If not tomorrow by Dia De Los Muertos for real.

Confirmed that they're gonna have the same hot kitchen and awesome food as Madison.

I'm ten minutes away and ready for my soul grocery to open. I mean Hills at Broadmoor is really close, as is the wonderful Uptown Fruiteria, but a full hot kitchen and takeout that's stumbling distance and quality plus cheap? Oh lort. Put that torta in my face.

Traffic-spotainment Waymo is way mo’ making up its own rules of the road

Just saw a cute little Waymo van driving with hazards on. Went through a 4 way stop when it was NOT its turn and then slowed abruptly and turned right off a main road without signaling. So yeah, about as safe as your normal Nash drivers. Defensive driving everyone!

The electronic ballot was fine and worked exactly as expected. Obviously, everyone should double check their ballot but it didn’t have any issues whatsoever.

Help | Advice Nashville Black Girlies, Please Help Me Find a Good Hairstylist!

Hey ladies!
I’m looking for recommendations for a really good hairstylist or salon in Nashville, preferably near the 37203 zip area.

I’m planning to straighten my natural hair permanently or semi-permanently, but I’m still deciding between a relaxer, keratin treatment, or nanoplasty. I’d really love to find someone who offers consultations, understands different hair types, and can help me figure out which treatment would be best for my hair and scalp without just trying to sell me a service.
Ideally, I’m looking for someone who:
•Specializes in healthy hair care, especially for Black
women.
•Has experience with relaxers and/or keratin
treatments.
•Offers consultations and is knowledgeable about hair
health.
•Also does sew ins and styling as well, so I can keep
going back for regular appointments.

I’m willing to travel a little farther for the right stylist, especially for chemical treatments. I just want someone knowledgeable and trustworthy.
Also, if anyone knows any good braiders around 37203 who don’t use excessive amounts of gel or edge control, I’d appreciate those recommendations too!
I’d especially love to hear from people who have personally been to these stylists and can vouch for their work. Thank you!

Does anyone know why the Regal movie theater at Green Hills mall is seemingly closed today as well as yesterday? When looking at showtimes for Monday and Tuesday it kept giving an error message and showed nothing. Wednesday on seems to be business as usual. Super weird!

Heads up!! Northbound, far right lane near the Rivergate exit construction has caused a pothole that incapacitated around a dozen cars when I drove by it approximately 30 minutes ago. Flats and probably wheel damage. Stay safe!

Edit: I’ve been informed by a coworker that there’s a cop blocking it now.

That’s all. Go patronize Germantown Pub, get the trifecta wings, the catfish, the beer.

They are an amazing locally owned business with great food and community and need Nashville’s support as it becomes harder for local places to survive.

Politics Thank you, Peter Thiel!

2.9k Upvotes

TLDR: I went to Peter Thiel's final "lecture" in his Nashville & the Antichrist series and I'm now more excited than ever to be part of the permanent underclass with ya'll!

I just need this off my chest. I've been stressed about the permanent underclass. Mostly stressed about people's mental state on the way down. We're all anxious and they're making us desperate on purpose. I'd feel much better if they'd just come out and say, 'We're doing permanent underclass next. Enjoy!'

Anyways, Peter Thiel's final lecture was so bad, it made me euphoric. I thought maybe I'd go and discover a reason why things have to go this way. Discover some up side to the pillaging of our intellectual property. Nope. I only discovered that these are the most boring, self-righteous, dumb little twits, and I'm so happy to not live the rest of my life in his self-induced "stagnation" state.

I haven't heard a guy use so many words to say nothing since Paul Ryan spoke at my college graduation. Oddly Peter Thiel mentioned Paul Ryan, but I can't remember what the point was. Because there were so few points.

Takeaways:

  1. We needed Trump to win in 2016 and 2024 the most because we couldn't possibly have a female president. Women aren't fit to lead. (He said this.)

  2. America is in decline and it's going to get violent, bc we are a violent nation.

  3. The antichrist will be an American president. Definitely not Trump. Could be AOC or Gavin Newsom (because Gavin Newsom has the ability to tax billionaire wealth, bad, bad, bad!)

  4. America has reached a level of stagnation that has destroyed (his) the ability to innovate. Sulky, sulky Peter Thiel. This whole series felt like a plea to his mother/ a life-long delay tactic. "How can I innovate with such stagnation, mom?! My final project to prove my worth is gonna be late!"

  5. Something, something, something, Greta Thunberg. The way this girl lives rent-free in their heads should be studied. I haven't thought of Greta (no offense) in years. And Thiel mentioned her by name or epithet at least 7 times. Reminded me of The 40-year-old-virgin's, "Ahhh, Kelly Clarkson!"

Human psychology is fascinating and terrifying. But I'm happy to watch from afar. I don't want to be anywhere near this level of victimhood. Happy to be amongst the real people, the funny people, the people who will fight for their neighbors instead of spending the rest of their lives running from their own inner demons.

I'm still stressed, of course. But I feel like I've closed a major chapter. Thank you, Peter Thiel!

Co-op everything! Onward & upward.

Pete Hegseth Reportedly Angling For Blackburn's Senate Seat To Avoid Impeachment

The defense secretary might try an intriguing escape route, according to Puck.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is “angling” for Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) to appoint him to her Senate seat so he can avoid potential impeachment, Puck reported Sunday.
Blackburn is likely to win her race for Tennessee governor, opening up the post for the rest of her term, which ends in January 2031.

Hegseth and his family set up residence in Tennessee in 2022. Rep. Tim Burchett is also interested in the Senate seat, according to Puck.
The House is expected to vote on an impeachment resolution filed by Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (Ky.) against Hegseth after the election ― and it is expected to be close. Democrats have been “aligning to call for the defense secretary’s ouster or resignation,” Semafor reported earlier this month.

The progressive advocacy group MoveOn told HuffPost there might more momentum toward impeaching the secretary than President Donald Trump.

“There’s a lot of ways to hold folks accountable. I think impeachment is one of them, and I think just from the perspective of our members at MoveOn, our members don’t want to take any of those options off the table,” spokesperson Joel Payne said.
Massie’s resolution charges Hegseth with waging war against Iran without congressional approval and an imminent threat, and ignoring laws to minimize civilian casualties. He also accuses the Cabinet member of using unauthorized lethal force on suspected drug-smuggling boats.

Some Republicans are hoping Trump could dismiss Hegseth before any impeachment process commences, and some senators “foresee a pathway” for the secretary to step down, Puck’s Leigh Ann Caldwell reported.

The Pentagon pushed back hard at the report.
“These speculations are nothing more than beltway gossip by anonymous sources,” Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson wrote to HuffPost on Monday. “Whoever is feeding you these claims are either badly misinformed or deliberately leading you astray to peddle Fake News. Under President Trump’s leadership, Secretary Hegseth’s singular priority is leading the War Department and delivering on the President’s America First agenda.”
