Question What names do you think these couples would choose for their children?
I don't doubt that opal and bolin would have a child named crystal

Humour Yk what I don’t care if Korra became evil. I support avatar wrongs and rights.
I don’t even care if she even had a good reason to destroy everything or not she’s amazing and I love her.

Meta How we, yes WE, are gonna be moving to protecting our goat Korra from the slander and "world destroyer" allegations till she debunks that herself.

Discussion TLOK doesn’t get enough recognition for its 1920/30 references
I haven’t seen anyone talk about this before, so I’d love to spark a conversation!
The technology: radios became more prominent in the US in the 30s, as well as the cars shown throughout the show. Planes became a reliable way to travel (hence why we see them at this time). Silent films were a popular form of entertainment for the 20s, and Varrick’s movers are a perfect example of the cross referencing.
Pro bending: pro bending sort of represents boxing (the gear and arena) and was the most popular sport in the 20s.
Poverty: As we know, Bolin and Mako lived on the streets. The Great Depression took place during the late 20s to mid 30s, leaving many in ruins. In one of the episodes, (I think Bolin?) is seen using newspapers as a way to stay warm, aka “Hoover blankets.” These were named after US President Herbert Hoover, who believed in rugged individualism.
I probably missed some other references, if you know anymore lmk! Ty for indulging in my nerdiness 🫡

Discussion Bolin is SO much of a character in the comics, seriously. He's not dumb, he stands up for himself when he's offended, he works well, has his own good ideas and gets serious in serious situations, but he still cracks jokes and can be spoiled sometimes, but he's genuinely Mako right arm

Discussion Was Guru Pathik the only person from Roku's time still alive during Aang's (after Katara unfroze him)? Could this have been a reason why the writers severed her past connections? Spoiler
galleryDiscussion thread to talk about the possibility that they ripped away Korra's past lives because she had "enough" people from Aang's time, whereas Aang had nobody left from Roku's? And every other Avatar about whom we've learned so far had both....... now, Pavi and Nisha (so far as we know) will only have Korra?

Discussion I introduced my brother to ATLA, and he loved it. But he refuses to watch Korra and it frustrates me
Not for any weird reasons like “she’s a girl,” he isn’t like that whatsoever.
But I adore Korra basically as much as TLA, and I just can’t get him to watch it. It’s like getting blood from a stone.
He’s said something to the effect of “I loved Avatar, and that’s enough for me,” which I respect. And of course, I can’t force anybody to watch anything.
When he finished TLA and I talked about Korra initially, he was mildly distressed that most of the Gaang were dead, and I reminded him it’s kind of a part of the whole Avatar story. To which he was like “Oh, yeah, duh, I guess.”
I just love this show so much, and I would love for him to experience it. Has anybody else known anybody with this particular obstacle?

Image Butch Hartman's TFOP style drawing of Aang
Butch Hartman drew Aang in TFOP style 😂 Come to think of it, Aang started only two years older than Timmy, and totally deserves and would need Fairy Godparents or a genie or something for all thru which he's been 😭

Discussion This awesome epic orchestral piece gave me so many feels 💔 Korra's story is the most tragic out of all Avatars. I will forever be grateful that her story happened, she means so much to me.

Humour Mako got a real skill, killing romance. And he used it effectively to give Ghazan the hardest crash out ever by killing Ming Hua

Discussion Do you think Avatar Wan mastered the bending of the other styles by learning from the other original benders besides the dragons?

Discussion Aight. Let’s do it. Tell me about the most Psychotic Korra hate posts you’ve seen.
Now me personally I do think their are LEGITIMATE criticisms you can make of the show. BUT it seems as if a lot of people have to be rather…annoying about it, to the point I’d say the Korra haters are just a level below the One Piece Glazers in terms of annoying. So I’m curious to hear about the WORST Korra haters posts you can remember seeing. And I’ll rank them from 1 to 10. 1 being genuinely good faith criticism. And 10 being did you even watch the show?

Discussion I've been on Twitter way too much. Can yall tell me why you LIKE Bolin?
Bolin and Mako remind me of me and my own brother respectively so it sucks seeing people hate on them all the time. I thought Bolin was generally beloved but I guess not. Could be a loud minority though.
It's gotten to a point where I saw someone say they liked Eska abusing Bolin because it was "A taste of his own medicine" and "She's the kind of woman I want to be" like we shouldn't be glorifying abuse.
Yes, kissing Ginger without her consent and working for Kuvira were bad things. But; Bolin was 17-ish during the former, plenty of time to change and grow. For the latter, as soon as he found out what was actually happening, he was out of there and tried to make amends.
He's not perfect, but people way over-inflate the bad things he did.
He's called a "knock-off Sokka" for being comic relief too which just isn't how you should look at characters

Discussion Bolin was set up to be the next President of Republic City
Hear me out, post LOK series Bolin was perfectly set up to be the next President of Republic city. It would’ve been his coming of age arch.
- he was born there dirt poor
- was involved in gangs to survive (able to understand the needs of the poor)
- was a famous pro bender (who doesn’t love pro bending)
- part of team avatar and helped saved the world & mainly Republic city multiple times
- dating someone in the blood line of toph bi fong
- a famous mover star, international known
He would’ve won the election by a landslide
