Saw this online, tried it, and it works beautifully. Basically, I registered the lowest part of my right index finger. That part of the finger sits naturally when you go to swipe up at the phone.

This resolves a major issue I had where I couldn’t easily just look at my phone to glance through notifications on the lock screen. Now, it’s never been easier (shown at the end of the video).

This is arguably better than Face ID. The speed is up there, and the phone doesn’t need to be facing directly at you to unlock, this motion can be done as soon as you pick up the phone.

Have your Pre-order already set for the 16th on tomorrow October 12th. The IPhone duo is expected to sale out extremely quick which means you might get a later delivery date.

Did we know that the official Apple iPhone Duo case was using sticky pads? Can’t see anything about it online but have mine now and it’s lined with sticky strips.

Got my Star White 512gb on pre-order and today was the first time I got to experience the device. Wowzers. The matt screen looks so good. Audio quality is better than I expected even in a noisier environment and the crease barely visible despite being a show device that’s probably been folded hundreds of times since launch day. Despite being in an Apple store with heavy lighting you can see the matt screen really working wonders. No reflection whatsoever.

Edit: This blew up quicker than I thought lol. To reiterate: This is the Apple store in Milton Keynes (UK). The staff themselves said they have stock reserved for immediate replacements for any faulty screens or hardware related issues.

Most definitely isn’t IP68. All that green is dust. It isn’t sealed tight.

The iPhone Duo is 5 grams heavier than the iPhone Pro Max, a difference equal to a nickel’s weight. This is pretty impressive for a phone with two screens, and a folding mechanism.

These reviewers are exaggerating the issue. Avoid being misled; they are chasing views.

You can’t develop a crease or crack your screen if you never close it in the first place. 👍

Edit: For many of you, all I have to say is, WHOOSH! I do have AppleCare so yes I will be using my phone as intended.

Crazy how long this has been in development. Shows how much time Apple was willing to wait and work on the Duo before bringing to the world.

The iPhone Duo is up on Apple’s Veterans and Military Store website. 10% off goes a LONG way here, it’s basically a free storage upgrade plus $20 off if you’re going from the 256GB to 512GB model (compared to original price). Edit 2: just tried checkout options for the 18 Pro and it looks like it doesn’t allow you to use carrier discounts or financing with the military discount. No Apple Upgrade leasing program option either, just credit/debit card, Apple Card, Apple Pay, or PayPal.

There seem to be overwhelming posts on how easy it is to secure one by simply walking in, and people doubting why we even preordered.

This is a survivor bias because only the lucky ones who got it have something to post; those who couldn’t (I believe it’s a majority) have nothing to post. I guess I’m here to break that stigma.

Edit: I preordered mine at 8:03am (T-Mobile financing with trade-in). Got Nov 20-30 estimated delivery. Date didn’t move forward despite so many orders getting cancelled (scrappers/self-cancellation). Ill continue to shop around until I find one 🤞 or my order arrives 🫩

At around the 15 minute mark, one of the Apple camera team members confirms that the main sensor is a brand new sensor. Reports of the duo using the 17e or base 17 sensor are false. The new sensor design is what enables 4K/120 which is not possible on 17e, 17 or Air models. Camera performance could land us somewhere closer to pro than originally thought.
