Ah man… I’ve had mine since launch, and I’ve been pleased as punch since it came out of the box. But I can see into the gaps on mine now. That’s crazy.
——
I was the first phone out of Northpark Dallas. (September Manufacture date.) My phone’s been in the Apple folio since I opened it. I’ve used it pretty much non-stop since I got it. Mostly tented to read, it stays open in a stand at my desk while working. I don’t really keep it in my pocket at all. I’ve always closed it “properly”
I’ve watched the many defects and cracks, largely silent because I figured I was not in whatever batch/wave that affected those units.
The gap on mine is such that I, too, can see the hinges. There’s a small but noticeable bow in the “top” half.
This sucks.

Having ATT being crap and giving me a Nov 30th seems like a blessing in disguise.

I just checked right now and you can see both sides right through, smh most disappointing release on Apple’s end.

“Water & Dust Resistance: Despite being a complex folding phone with moving parts, Apple managed to give it an official IP68 rating. This means it matches the standard iPhone 18 line with water protection up to 6 meters for 30 minutes.”
Uhhh?

This is the second post I’ve seen of this issue today, and the second time I’ve taken my case off to check if I have this problem lol
I swear this sub has me eyeing every inch of my duo multiple times a day looking for issues

I think I’m glad now that I’m not getting mine until late November. Not because I think this’ll all be fixed by then but because it gives me time to see if I even wanna keep the preorder.
I don’t like the idea of having to be anxious of handling my daily $2000 phone.

For a company that have "We may not be first, but we make them best" as their ethos, Duo sure seems like a bad first product. There are problems rooting from its design to QA. It's not even a new technology, it's a mature 8 yrs tech. ATP, they'll make Apple Vision Pro looks like a successful new product. And it's an actual innovation!
For a multi-trillion dollar tech company with readily available access to mature tech, there are no excuse for Duo to be this way. I can understand overpricing, but not these bunch of problems.

This might be the issue with the screen cracking in the middle. Something isn’t holding the hinge in place.
