After much reflection, Iāve made the difficult decision to step away from my role at Nova Scotia Power.
It has been a privilege to work alongside people who care deeply about serving customers and Nova Scotia. I saw firsthand the pride, resilience, and commitment our teams bring every dayāespecially through challenging moments.
As you may recall, I came out of retirement and transitioned from the Nova Scotia Power Board to take on the challenging role of President and CEO. Iām proud of the progress we made together this year: meeting important commitments, communicating more openly, restoring stability after the cyber incident, and rebuilding trust. There is more work ahead, but I leave knowing Nova Scotia Power has a strong foundation and a talented team to carry it forward.
Iāll be supporting the transition to Chris Smith as CEO. He has my full support, and Iām confident the company will remain focused on serving customers and contributing to Nova Scotiaās growth.
As I look to my next chapter, Iām excited to be able to dedicate more time to community service through my board work with the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 / MusĆ©e canadien de l'immigration du Quai 21 and Saint Mary's University, as well as supporting the Canadian Armed Forces in any way I can, including in my cherished role as Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel with the 1st Field Artillery Regiment, RCA.
To everyone Iāve worked with at Nova Scotia Power and the many people Iāve met, worked with, or simply reconnected with in communities across the province: thank you. Iām grateful for your insights, proud of what we accomplished, and am looking forward to what comes next.
Sood was named the CEO in March of this year.
