General Discussion Up and up and up and up and down.
The ghost of Pete Dye cackles at every swing you take on the PGA West Stadium Course.

General Discussion What swing thought made your driver finally click?
I used to hit my driver so pure, and now even standing over the ball feels foreign. Something that used to feel natural suddenly feels like I’m trying to remember how to swing.
For anyone who’s lost that feel and gotten it back, what helped? When you’re swinging through the ball, what are you actually feeling or focusing on?
Curious if you had a simple swing thought, drill, or “aha” moment that made things click again. I feel like I’m getting in my own head, and I’d love to hear what helped you trust your swing.

General Discussion How to tell your buddy he’s slow?
My very good friend is a horribly slow player. Had him to my club twice. He’s invited me to his. He’s a great human, but his pace of play self awareness is abysmal. Never ready to hit when it’s his turn, stops in the middle of the fairway to watch others hit instead of getting to his own ball, walks slowly, wants to chat on the tee instead of hitting, too many practice swings, looks for lost balls too long… all of the classic slow play examples, he’s got them.
We’ve been off pace minimum of 45 minutes every time we tee it up. His club clearly doesn’t monitor pace of play, or he’d for sure have been warned by now.
Any advice for how to break it to him without sounding like a douche? Definitely would prefer to keep playing with him if we can speed him up.

General Discussion Golfers who consistently break 80: what’s your single best piece of advice?
If you could give someone trying to get there only one tip, what would it be? Besides “take fewer strokes”. I’ve already explored that theory.

General Discussion Tiger to return to competitive golf "Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
From all accounts he will be at this years Hero World Challenge, PNC Championship, is already signed up for the TGL, and will be at the 2027 Masters.

General Discussion What’s the most frustrating part of being a mid-handicapper?
One swing feels like I can actually play golf.
The next one looks like I’ve never played before.
What’s yours?

Equipment One final goodbye.. 💥
Gave her one last cleanup. Purchased new about 21(give or take) years ago. Only driver I ever had, before my wife, before my kids 😂.
Kept in absolutely pristine condition, barely a scratch on her. All original everything(just regripped)
When she hits square, she hits long. 30yds+ further than my new Callaway Elyte X but my game has changed.
Still gonna bring her out every once in a while for a trip down memory lane. All praise, OG r7 425.

General Discussion You get one tour-level skill. Which one actually saves your game?
Driving, iron play, wedges, or putting? Pick one. Your other problems unfortunately remain your responsibility.

General Discussion What yardage do you play?
What yardage do you guys typically play from? Whites for my home course is 6300 while most other courses in city those are the black or tips. So when I play them I still play one back from the back and score relatively the same. Do you guys adjust the tees when you go the different courses to try to always play the same yardage?? Or just always the same tee box IE one from the back, the back the forwards etc??

Serious My club’s GM secretly holds 3 hours of prime weekend tee times for buddies
I recently joined an entry-level country club that is part of a larger global corporate network. The corp acquired the club a couple of years ago, but most of the staff and GMs remained the same and stayed on.
When I joined the club, the new-member director pitched it as tee times are first-come first served, released a week in advance over a phone app. It’s a large club without any kind of waiting list or prerequisites, which was part of its appeal. Everyone is generally equal and there are no capital contributions.
Unfortunately, in all of my first year of membership, I was never able to book a tee time before 9:30am on a weekend. Every time I woke up early to log in and give it a shot, tee times were somehow already booked. I figured I was just slow on the draw, and settled for later tee times or just not golfing that day. And when I asked the pro shop for help on a special birthday round, they said sadly the tee times were first come first serve.
However, one day after a big party, a few of the drunk members were bragging about having standing early morning tee times. Allegedly the general manager has been secretly holding all early morning weekend tee times for the same group of 20 or so members, his buddies. Sure enough, the foursome listings for every weekend morning tee time always have the same rotating cast of characters. It makes way more sense than 75 year old Gladys with arthritis somehow magically refreshing their computer and mashing reserve faster than every other member at the club.
Is this just a normal part of clubs? What would you do in this situation?

General Discussion I grew up in the southeast. Fall golf in New England just hits different.
I love (and miss) being able to play year round, but having lived in New England for the last 16 years, when you get a magic weather day in late October, there is almost nothing better in the game of golf.
