I just searched for this subreddit because I'm having a sudden burst of "Gantz-depression" aka wishing the whole manga would get an anime adaptation. It keeps happening to me :/

I truly believe that if Gantz were to be remade with modern animation (see Solo Leveling or JJK), it would easily be the most hyped anime of whichever season it aired. Back when the original anime aired, it was kinda niche, admittedly. But with how shit and generic modern anime have gotten, an anime like Gantz where bad things are allowed to happen, where actions and events have long-lasting consequences, people would flock to that. For similar reasons they're flocking to Mushoku Tensei, because it's not sanitized to hell.

On a similar level, I feel like we should have gotten a Gantz-video game a long time ago. I'm not usually into multiplayer-games, but the premise of Gantz really lends itself PERFECTLY to a Monster Hunter-style game. Just let it be more than 4 players per team, make movement a bigger focus, and it'd be sooo cool. Imagine all the customization options. And how fun it'd be to do super-jumps or run like the flash or block giant enemies' attacks, all while having to watch your Gantz suit's gauge. I feel like gamers were robbed of one of the greatest multiplayer games here.

Anyway, I saw the thread about Oku Hiroya desiring more Gantz-anime, so that will be my hopium for the future. Thank you.

just finished gantz and man i was a bit disappointed with the conclusion/ending its as if anzu,kaze, takeshi and the foreigner girl never existed and hikawa did practically nothing in the final arc they should have let izumi live and kill off hikawa bro just aurafarmed for nothing

This is really interesting i never see, Oku like that for writing constants tweets about Gantz being adapted, unless its his final work who still need to get a possible Reboot. Since Gigant its already in production, who knows if he is maybe preparing us with a little anouncement. Since this behavior its a little strange....

What would people think is actually reasonable for these? I have the complete series and I'm thinking about selling them. Maybe for $1200CAD (about $857USD). I have Gantz G 3 volumes as well plus the Japanese tech manuals.

Its seems that this days, he is trying to tell us something related to the franchise, about the future of Gantz could be that is possible that they are working on something?

According that we know, they are producing Gigant animated film by studio K2 but i believe there is something else in progress.

Since 2004 for Tv series of Gantz from the studio Gonzo, until 2017 for the Tv series of Inuyashiki from studio Mappa and then Thunder3 on 2026, we can see a pattern, who would be the one for the Gigant animation film made by studio K2 parterned with Studio Mappa and the next Gantz Reboot? I believe he already choose the right one.

I had finished reading Gantz years ago but I can't forget the quality of the art. I wanted to ask how did the artist get the level of shading and detail that was in the Gantz manga? Did they use computer software or just all pen, pencil and brush work by hand? Thanks for listening.

This is one of the few times that Oku expresses this wish in a very specific way, since the Thunder3 season 2 and Gigant anime adaptation are in progress, its more likely that we probably saw a new reebot (Not Remake) coming in a few years.

Been rereading the manga and I’m almost done, been thinking about reading some of the spinoff manga specifically gantz E because it’s set in feudal Japan and the idea of that sounds sick

Some of my favorites was when one of the randos who didnt want the suit said "Given a choice of being dead or looking gay, I guess I'll take the latter" and when Kei said "Cocka doodle fking doo motherfkerssss" as he was shooting the robot aliens.

Kei getting random boners is also peak comedy similar to Kazuya from rent a girlfriend.

The reaction when gantz called that one model gay was also hilarious when the biker told him to stay away and not touch him
