He's like first there is this wet stuff in the sky and then it's on the ground? What is this?

This is my boss. He is registered AKC as a mini dachshund, but now 16# He is at least 1 year old and he really grew stronger in the past few months. I am glad I waited for this surgery.
Now that it's scheduled I am a little worried that it will change his personality in some way. He never really seemed particularly hormonal but for a few months he would fixate nightly on some object he could dominate and rough up (usually a smaller dog bed). Now he only sleeps in the larger dog beds, a warmer dog spot on the floor, or when he's invited on the foot of the bed. He will "kill" specific toys, play catch, or chew up random rugs or items.
Will this still happen?
What should I do to prepare for the days for his recovery?
What can I expect, if anything, from his post op personality?

My 15 week old has always been struggling since I bought him home at 8 weeks old with this. I've tried white noise, toys, kongs, everything. He will always whine when i'm out of sight.
He settles and sleeps in the crate when i'm out but when i'm in the house, he really is the biggest velcro dog.
I'm going to puppy training and the trainer says keep busy around him but do boring mundane tasks like dusting then gradually move to another room. Thing is my doggo reacts to everything. He has a serious case of FOMO and wants to be involved in everything I do.
I've read up so much about doxies and alot of people just say it's just the breed. But I don't want a dog who has intense separation anxiety or anything. Has anyone else had similar experiences and trained their dog to be abit more blase and chill? Thoughts and advice really welcome!

My dachshund is almost 2 and she doesn't really get along with my mother-in-law because she often makes comments about her behavior and my dog definitely understands my mother-in-law has no authority to tell her what to do. And whenever she watches TV in the living room where my dog is sleeping and tells something to my dog, my dog is barking at her a few times and dragging her little couch to the kitchen so she doesn't have to be in the same room with her. Still love my mother-in-law though :)

Mine is almost 2-year old, and we're still struggling with her barking at people passing when walking. We walk regularly, she is very friendly with people coming over to our house, and she's never had any bad experiences with strangers. But the barking just won't stop...

Zippy was brought inside at about 5-6 weeks. Ruby introduced about 1 week later (after medical care & quarantine).
