Finished in time for Halloween!! After starting, then stopping, and starting again, this African Flower tarantula only took me a couple of years, he he he. This will be the only one of these I ever make 😜

Used a 2.25 mm hook and 8/4 Hobbii Rainbow cotton yarn.

Here is the pattern I used listed on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4371098217/crochet-tarantula-pattern-african-flower?ref=share_v4_lx

Finally finished

My first wearable project!

F*ck AI Skeleton Sweater by Earthtricks

It's taken me well over 6 months, first time doing anything that wasn't finished in 2 or 3 days, first time doing anything I could wear, first time doing tapestry crochet.

There was many mistakes along the way, some frogging, some literally cutting away whole chunks and stitching parts back together. It's not perfect, but it was never meant to be because I'm still learning and I've learnt a lot :) still happy with what I've achieved. What's next?!?!

Halloween FO/WIP Bucket of Popcorn Costume

My daughter wanted to be a bucket of popcorn for Halloween this year! The pattern is self drafted. The bucket is just rows of double crochet, and the kernels were individually crocheted following the Secret Yarnery's youtube video. The costume inspired a movie theater theme for Halloween; her little brother is the ICEE, and grandma and myself are concession stand workers.

Happy Halloween!!

Just wanted to share this little crochet summer top I made! 🤍🌸
I really love how the floral details and delicate stitches turned out.
It took some patience, but I'm pretty happy with the final result.
What do you guys think? Would you wear something like this? 🧶💕

Finished Object First time using cross-stitch to add detail on crochet project and it works better than I imagine

Here's my take on Monchhichi eyeglasses holder! I hate embroidering facial features since I always mess it up. So this time I used a pixal art generator to draft and start with tapestry crochet, then cross-stitched the details on the face. Don't know how to crochet with left hand, so I cut the yarn each row.

Finished Object I’m am so proud of this blanket!

So technically I finished this blanket during the summer, however it took me until yesterday to finally get around to sewing in the last 30 or so threads.

This blanket pattern has been on my to do list for at-least two years as I am a procrastinator by nature and was overwhelmed in colour choices. Well this year I put myself on a yarn buying ban as I have A-LOT that I should really be using . When looking through my stash for this project I realised that I had a lot of pinks and purples and my bedroom is a similar colour scheme, so that was the colour situation sorted.

I grabbed every single yarn skein I had that had a hint of pink or purple and some dark yellow/ pumpkin? yarn that I had to add some contrast. Plus I had a glittery version of a similar colour that I thought would add some pizzaz to the butterfly’s.

Finished Object I made a granny square bag out of a thrifted sweater + pillowcase

I’d been wanting to make a granny square bag for a long time and finally did it. Shout out to r/knitting for helping me unravel the sweater. And to y’all when I posted about modifying the handle on the bag. I’m happy with how it turned out and that it’s eco-friendly since I used secondhand materials. The sweater is 100% cotton and this took just about all of the sleeves so I still have the body of the sweater left to use for something else. And I only used one side of the pillowcase.

I saw someone's cardigan here that she made for her niece and I loved it so much so I had to make my own version. 12 colors in the squares, plus the black. I stitched it together however I felt like so there's not really any consistency on the black.

4 hook and Two of Wands Cottino yarn. It's a cotton/superwash merino blend.

Discussion Never adjust your tension for a project.

I’ve been crocheting for more than 50 years, and I grimace every time I see someone mention doing this. If you feel you need to make an adjustment to achieve the gauge for a project use a different hook or yarn size. This is especially true if you’re the type of crocheter who rotates working on different projects.

I started this in January, as a sequel to another similar project I made with granny squares.

I hope to eventually work into more of a rectangle so it can be more blanket shaped.

There’s no pattern, just lots of circles worked over the course of the year and stitched together at breakfast most mornings.

Work in Progress Opinions please

I'm making placemats for my family this Christmas, each sibling & parents get a set of 4- they will be 3x4 grannys each. I want to do one of each color shown for a set.

Problem is, the more I stare at the pink flower, the more I don't like it, especially in a set with the sunflowers. Should I change the pink petals to something darker? More fall themed, like a burgundy? I've made so many that I will have to frog but I do have time.

Work in Progress Making a blanket

I am making a blanket for my mom. Her favorite flowers are sunflowers and roses but I am making a sunflower blanket. However I was playing around with different ways of making sunflowers and I'm unsure if they even look like one.

I'm using cotton yarn for the centers and the borders. And using rayon/cotton blend for the petals.

Any thoughts on which to choose will be appreciated.

Made with #3 thread and 2.25 mm hook. I was trying to use up yarn I had lying around but ran out and had to buy more. Oh well. It was a fun first doily pattern, and now I’m ready for Halloween.

Image descriptions: a crocheted round doily in off-white featuring six cute ghosts.

Second photo is the first thing i ever crocheted, a blankie for my daughter when I was pregnant with her. I absolutely love the scallop edges and think it just turned out so well for me first learning!

Fast forward a year and a half and the first photo is my most recent creation, a sweater for her. I know it is wonky and I know I still have SO much to learn (especially in the clean sewing and joining department).

But damn am I proud of myself.

Worked on it consistently for about 3 weeks then left it lol. Would have probably finished it in 4 weeks if I stayed consistent.
