Christmas villages
On my Facebook feed, I keep seeing promos for the CUTEST little Christmas celebrations. Mostly they seem to be in small towns in New York and Virginia. Where are the very best Christmas experiences around here? I don't mean like driving through Christmas lights. I mean like carolers and hot cider and old-timey Christmas vibes. Where they close down the streets, maybe, and everyone is outside. Maybe I'm thinking of something like Williamsburg, VA does. I don't know. Something old-fashioned that isn't just looking at lights and animatronics.

I lost my memorial ring made with the ashes of my dog at the Hickory Run Service Plaza in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.
Edit: Changed link formatting
(Sorry, I need karma to post in [r/Pennsylvania](r/Pennsylvania))
Hi, all. My name is Lauren. The aforementioned memorial ring made with the ashes of my dog, Jewels, on October 9th, 2026, on my way from Upstate New York to Philadelphia. It was at an AppleGreen rest stop - Hickory Run Service Plaza - in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.
I posted a video with more information on Instagram and TikTok. I’m fully aware of how ridiculous this is, but I had to try the magic of the Internet before I had to grieve again.
I’m posting this across many subreddits so apologies for the possible spam.
