I'm the second hand owner of a 2020 TCR. This damn clamp design...

I went to increase saddle height by 3 mm and discovered this seat post damage. I think it's because I've used it on the trainer recently? It's been fine before that and I've always used a torque wrench to 6 Nm instead of the 7 Nm specified.

I then discovered a crack in the seat post in a location that's apparently common on these generations of the TCR. I believe the crack doesn't run on the inside - is it only a paint crack?

The post is cooked I assume. What about the frame? I'm thinking of just using it on the trainer in the upcoming 4-5 winter months here. Or can I mess up the frame even more if the post cracks on me on the trainer?

Found this chip on my carbon frame. To me, it looks like it’s just limited to the paint. Although I am a little worried about how it is on, and goes around, the edge. Reference coin is a dime. Am I good to cover this with paint or nail polish, or does it require more expert inspection?

Don't know when this happened but has to be recently. Hit lots of bumps pretty hard but cant think of a specific incident. Keep riding or get carbon repaired?

I was offered this frame for doing some work for the local bike shop. Chain stay looks to have a pretty worn down section down to the raw carbon.

I have a broken Allez Spring that would be the donor for all the components. Would you ride, or would you pass?

Are these bars rideable? Anyone have any experience with similar?

Today I received a used carbon fibre handlebar. As u can see, there is a damage where the levers were mounted. Do u think it is the coating or a carbon damage?

Hey guys, just wanted to ask if anyone is like a pro in Carbon material, because during rides, my bike does like some creaking noises and after analysing it I found these two points. The second one I was aware because it was my fault, but the first one under the bike I didn't know. The sound makes me feel like it comme from the rear suspension zone. Any idea ?

Underside of chainstay. The blue area feels fine, nail runs along easily and doesnt really catch. The one Im concerned about is the yellow spot. Its like 2mm long and 0.1mm wide and is the only one that feels just a tad bit deeper. Tapping coin makes the same sound along it. What do you guys think?

Je suis en train de me renseigner pour essayer de réparer des égratignures sur la piste de freinage de mes roues carbone. Les égratignures ne sont pas profondes, le carbone n’est pas atteint. Après m’être renseigné, j’ai appris que je pouvais combler les trous avec de la résine epoxy haute résistance en température (~160 degrés Celsius ) ou avec de la colle epoxy bi composant, qui elle résiste généralement mieux à la chaleur appartement. La réparation semble plus simple et pratique avec la résine, mais est super dure à trouver en ligne, après une vingtaine de minutes de recherches, rien qui correspond à ma demande. La colle est plus facile à trouver, sur Amazon carrément.
C’est la piste de freinage, et ça va me niquer les gommes de freins si je fais rien. Je pourrai demander à un réparateur spécialisé, mais rien autours de chez moi ne permet ce genre de réparations, donc je vais essayer de tenter ça moi même.

During a ride, while shifting onto the small chainring, the chain derailed has been sucked. It was pulled up against the frame, tearing away material near the bottom bracket, just above the area covered by the metal protective plate on the chainstay.

The visible damage is approximately 1 cm wide. The paint has been stripped away, and the carbon fibers are exposed and potentially damaged. Consequently, I cannot determine whether the structural integrity of the frame has been compromised.

Is the frame cooked ?

Had a crash yesterday, holding front brake and the wheel does not move, but there is some play in the fork area where it didn’t before, might it be broken?
It’s been tightened to torque by a torque wrench, but after I tighten the left side the right seems to allow “more torque”, vice versa. Could this be a result of cracked carbon?

I dont know, it seems like it may be a crack but the coin test doesnt help me rn and it does not seem to move when i press it. Not sure if its a paint crack which seems to happen more often with white paint or maybe a scratch or if its a full cracked frame. Would appreciate any feedback, thanks guys :-)

Bought a used carbon bike:
This is on the outer side of the clamp area for the seat post. I checked the inner side (by taking the seat post out) and didn’t see any delamination. I can feel the crack with my fingernail, the coin tap test is inconclusive for me since the area has difference in wall thickness.
The hairline is quite symmetrical. I assume the clamp was always mounted with the correct amount of torque.
What do you think?

I'm normally really relaxed about carbon bikes but this one really got me sweating.

I crashed two years and 10000km ago. Didn't noticed the cracks, because they're usually in the shadow, when the bike is upright. (Cracks are way easier to spot on the photos as in real life)
The steering stop on the older Cervelo S5 models bang against the inside of the steering tube.

I did a dye penetration test, which shows cracks on the outside. Inside is completly fine.
Knock test sounds a tiny bit deeper, but that could be raw carbon against paint.
If i press the area with my fingers it feels solid and doesnt make any sounds.

Would you continue riding that frame, given that the crash happened two years ago and it held up till now? (No later impact happened)

Hey everyone!
I have a Factor Ostro VAM with an exposed carbon finish and clear coat (no paint).

Unfortunately, my bike accidentally slipped off its stand and made light contact with a metal surface.

The impact wasn’t hard, but it left a couple of small dents on the frame.

I’m wondering if this is just clear coat damage and whether it can be repaired to look like new.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this an easy cosmetic fix, or should I be concerned about the carbon?
I’ve attached some pictures.

I’m not looking for a repair for this, I’m sure a silver sharpee or grey nail polish would look just fine… I’m curious if anyone else has had similar damage done before from using a racing bib… I never would have expected that a paper bib this would leave such a mark on my carbon frame! I’m more so annoyed than anything. It was a 100 mile “sportive” and it was raining the whole time, I’m assuming the wet conditions could have had something to do with it
