Are we supposed to believe that in this flashback, Walter was 34 and Skyler was 23?

I think it’s episode 13 of season 3, right at the beginning. The flashback takes place when Skyler was just pregnant with Flynn.

Walt + free birthday at Denny's question

Post image
434 Upvotes

Something that has puzzled me every time I rewatch the show comes up when Walt goes to Denny's for his 52nd birthday. After he arranges the bacon into numbers, the waitress pressures him into getting a free meal with his ID. We know he gives the Mr. Lambert license because she calls him that by name. So did his alter ego have the same bday as Walt? Was he celebrating on Lambert's bday instead of his own? Or did the waitress just not look at the date?

Just Re-watched the Show for the second time and...

I have to say have say its kind of insane the tiny details you don't even catch the first time. For example:When Gus visits the nursing home, he often parks in nearly the same spot. Walter also almost everytime, adjusts his glasses after making an important decision. If you pay really close attention you notice The White family's house becomes darker over the seasons. It's not just the mood the lighting inside the home is intentionally less warm than it was in Season 1. Mike rarely sits with his back to a door. In restaurants, offices, and houses, he'll often choose the seat with the best view of the exits. Thats just the ones I could think of its genuinely insane the details you don't catch the first time. Whats your craziest details you caught?

I Genuinely Felt Bad For Hank Spoiler

He was one of the most chill and honest guys I have seen in this web series. There's no doubt that he loved his family more than anything, and he loved Walt like a brother. His heart must have been broken even more than Skyler finding out Heisenberg's real identity.

As a chemical H&S warden for my workplace lab, this shot made me gasp

Post image

Hydrofluoric acid is considered a highly hazardous chemical due to its powerful corrosive properties seen in the show, and a small drop on the skin can potentially cause lethal fluorine poisoning. As a result, labs tend to only keep stores of HF if it is necessary for their work. Special storage and use procedures are also required under many laws to reduce accidental exposure.

A high school chemistry department would have no reason to have any amount of HF on hand, let alone several large bottles. Not to mention the storage shown, on an open shelf with a variety of other chemicals not being compliant (perhaps chemical safety regulations in AQ at the time were lax).

(Also note the typo “hydroflouric” lol)

Don’t have much to say other than I’m finally watching Breaking Bad for the first time and I’m pretty excited about it. Now to leave this sub until I’m finished so no spoilers 😂

"Robbing a train."

Might be one of the funniest lines in the entire show. A perfect response to Skylar's snarky comment right before that - it kills me every time lol.

Wrapping up my 30th rewatch, god I love this series lol (it makes good background noise while working).

My friends and I went as Breaking Bad characters for Halloween

Post image
36 Upvotes

My first time doing a group cosplay with friends, and it's for my favorite show! We dressed up as Breaking Bad characters for a Halloween party. I was Walt.

EDIT: I wanted to explain the circumstances behind my repost. I’m so sorry for causing any confusion with it.

Earlier last morning, I was trying to crosspost my Breaking Bad cosplay picture and then wanted to delete and change the crosspost. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted my original post in this subreddit instead. It had received around 1.1k upvotes, and I was genuinely devastated when I realized what I had done. I felt really upset about it. I had never received that many upvotes, and I was honored to have it be in this community.

Here's the link to my original post, which I accidentally deleted:
https://www.reddit.com/r/breakingbad/s/CQVkJswyCW

I wasn't trying to repost for the sake of farming upvotes. I simply wanted to restore the post I had accidentally deleted. I only shared it again because I really wanted the picture to remain part of this community, which really means a lot to me.

Anyone think some of Jack’s gang was ex-military?

Post image
3 Upvotes

(Note that I haven’t watched BB in a while so do correct me on some things)

From the moment I saw his gang something about them said to me that they were Iraq/Afghanistan vets.

On top of the way they act, the fact that they know how to acquire such amounts of body armor and illegal weaponry, how Jack talks more professionally when it comes to killing (I assume they’re sloppy when it comes to selling meth is since it’s what they’re less passionate about and they only see it only as a quick way to get money. They don’t need to make a boat load of money, just whatever they need at the moment). And one more thing I noticed is that one of Jack’s men has a top in DCU camouflage, an American camouflage pattern used during the GWOT. To be fair sure he could just be using surplus and the top isn’t even his but it’s something to consider.

And this is probably obvious, but there were neo-Nazis who ‘slipped through’ enlistment in the US military during the GWOT. I also think that Vince tried to make them look “tactical” when they pulled up to kill Hank, like they’re troops who know their doing and have done this before. While yes, Vince nor the show directly states it I just think thats what the subtext overall tells me. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts.

Wished they made another "fly" episode, but it's about these four characters finding a base of operations, visiting places, taking long road trips Spoiler

It could have had potential. Imagine, 40 minutes of these characters searching for places, stuck in traffic, then some pesky argument between Walt and Mike (and maybe Saul) happens.

Gus and external producer

In BB, Gus saves Walter’s life by stopping the Salamanca cousins, and later has a meeting with Hector and Bolsa, during which the latter explains the whole situation regarding Tuco and their desire for revenge. Gus replies, very calmly, that he has dealings with this producer—treating it as a routine, everyday matter. Isn’t it a bit strange that Gus would so casually admit to these dealings—which exist outside the cartel—given all the accusations Hector leveled against him in BCS?

Why didn't Vamonos pest ever cook in the four's homes? Spoiler

I wonder why didn't Vamonos pest, or Walt as the unofficial boss for the matter, ever consider tenting Walt's home, Jesse/Andrea's home, Mike/Stacey's home, and Saul's to use for cooking.

If they are to run out of customers needing pest control, they can simply use those homes to cook.

This time Walt was talking to Skyler, convincing her that the money belongs to him and he didn't steal.

And when it comes to money, i believe if it ain't a blood money, it's yours. No matter how you make it. Lol

Did Walter White have NPD? (Covert Narcissism)

Grandiose sense of self:

Walt believed he was intellectually superior to almost everyone around him. He couldn't tolerate being treated as ordinary.

Extreme need for recognition:

Making money wasn't enough. He needed people to know that he was Heisenberg, the brilliant mind behind everything.

Manipulation:

He repeatedly exploited Jesse's emotional vulnerabilities, using guilt, affection, and fear to maintain control.

Lack of empathy:

As the series progressed, he became increasingly willing to sacrifice other people's well-being to protect his interests.

Fragile ego:

Walt reacted intensely when his intelligence, authority, or accomplishments were questioned. His pride regularly overpowered his judgment.

Sense of entitlement:

He believed his suffering, sacrifices, and intelligence justified actions that would be unacceptable for anyone else.

And possibly the biggest giveaway:

"I did it for me. I liked it. I was good at it. And I was really... I was alive."

Are there people who watched BCS before BB? How was it?

Just rewatched Breaking Bad and currently on my rewatch of Better Call Saul, and this question came to mind. I’m actually curious what the watching experience is like, since the BB cameo’s in BCS can also work the other way around I think? But maybe I’m missing some plot holes here, as I at the moment don’t fully recall the events in Better Call Saul late seasons.

Series finale question Spoiler

How did Walter put the ricin inside Lydia's Stevia?

Walter would've literally have needed to open the package to put the ricin on it. My thoughts are that he either somehow fabricated that very same Stevia package or maybe he DID open the Stevia package and somehow was able to close it back very perfectly

So why did Gus do that to Victor? Spoiler

Didn't want to put the spoiler in the title. But do we know specifically why Gus killed Victor? Because he showed his face at the crime scene to commoners? Because he started cooking without authorization? Both? Something else? Doing a rewatch now and in season 4, not sure if it gets totally spelled out. Seems also clear that Gus wanted to do it to make an example and to scare Walt and Jesse, hoping that would help keep them in line. Obvious failure there.

Walt’s best moment

I think, even after all of the buildup and Walt transforming into Heisenberg and making all those millions, when he was at his peak as a criminal mastermind was the finale. He tricked his way into getting Gretchen and Elliot’s address and scared them into laundering his money with LASER POINTERS. He, in a 5 minute meeting managed to slip ricin into Lydia’s coffee. He rigged up a contraption to kill 7 nazis without touching the trigger. He was completely fearless and confident throughout the whole episode, and everything went the way he planned it other than deciding to spare Jesse. He made face to face contact with multiple people, many of which knew him personally, without a single worry of being caught.

Throughout the show he was a kingpin, a genius, the greatest mind the meth trade has ever seen, but he was never that cunning. He was clumsy, he was impulsive, he was stupid and he wasn’t confident. The finale showed not Heisenberg, but Walter White, who finally accomplished his only goal: to provide his family money in his absence. His highest point was when he was at his lowest.
