Trader Joe's Anniversary beer - new brewery
The brewery for the anniversary beer is different - it's a Belgian brewery (I don't recall the name and I don't have the bottle on hand. Not Unibroue this year. Has anyone tried it? Compared the difference?

Midas touch spots?
Anyone find any in Pennsylvania or New Jersey? I’m just wondering if I need to go to Delaware to find this… I work in the tri state area and have found no luck in several gigantic distributors in these states. Delaware maybe? I saw Massachusetts got some hits but that makes no sense for me…

Need Help with some local Beers.
Hey guys and gals. Ill try to keep this short. Returning to Indiana After several years away and found out most on the local breweries have close down. Triton, 3 Wise Men, Tow Yard, and Cutters were my go to. I know Sun King is still up and running but it isn't the same brewery as I remember. I found Wood Bear in Greenfield but have heard they have slimmed down their menu. I loved Tritons Deadeye Stout and the stouts from the other places. I also enjoy and IPA from time to time. I have stayed away from all the fad beers sold in local stores but now I'm kind of thinking I should try some. I hear a lot of people talking about Voodoo Ranger and Elysian Space Dust.
I guess what I'm asking is what are some good stouts and IPAs sold in liquor stores that are not all flavored up or brewed with some weird shit to draw attention to them?

Hawkstone
Has anyone tryed Hawkstone (Jeramy Clarksons beer) it fantastic stuff I tried the Premium larger (4.8%AVB) it’s old and crisp there are other options but the Hillis style Lager is a dream there is also a session Larger (4.0% AVB)that is a bit lighter with a sweet malty taste and an IPA (4.8% AVB) that has a more tropical ci notes with a good malty structure.
it’s my favourite British beer so much better than the slop you get from Bath

Why is finding a good beer at a random pub so hit or miss?
Had this thought the other day: you can go into one pub and get a genuinely great pint, then walk into another place and pay nearly the same for something that tastes like the keg's been sitting there since last Christmas.
I know it depends on how busy the place is and how well they look after their lines, but it still feels like a bit of a lottery sometimes.
I've started paying more attention to what the locals are drinking rather than just ordering whatever's on the menu.
Anyone have any little signs they look for to tell if a pub is likely to serve a decent pint?

Discussion Looking for Tusker hat
Looking for a Tusker baseball cap…dark green or possibly blue with a white brim. My last pic with my late father…he had one on. He did a lot of work in Africa and was likely gifted this hat.

Help, I'm trapped in Wv and can't find St. Bernardus
Title, mates. I used to get it from a place in Barboursville, believe it or not! Abt 12 made me see God! The place is sadly, closed and now my beloved monastic is temporarily beyond my reach. Does anyone in the area know of a good place to get my fix?

¿Question? Quantity
Does anyone have a small hoard of beer? I recently started drinking with my go to being coors banquet. I drink about 2-4 per weekend, I don't drink weekdays.
I'm considering just buying a few cases at a time. I have the space to keep it room temperature. Just don't like going to the store much with my limited home time. What do y'all think?

Which Beer Gardens/Taprooms in NYC do You Recommend For Beers Other Than IPAs?
Ive tried a few beer gardens/taprooms (blind tiger, eckhart, evil twin, finback, grimm, other half, threes, and wild east) and I noticed that I like darker beers that are full-bodied and sweeter and lighter beers that are wheat-forward.
I dont really like IPAs. Ironically, I had a west-coast pilsner that I thought was pretty good.
Id like to try more beers that arent IPAs and Im wondering which beer gardens/taprooms in nyc youd recommend? I considering harlem hops and torst.
Sorry, I reposted since I didnt specify nyc as the location

Massachusetts beer suggestions
Hey yall
I am looking for craft beer suggestions from MA for a friend
I am from MA, but don’t really drink. However my friend here in NJ loves craft beers, specially light pale ales, and always lets me crash when it gets late so I want to get him some beer when I go back home (specially to Worcester )
Yeah, if yall have any suggestions please let me know. My fall back is wachusett beer because I can’t get it in NJ, but I’m looking for something more niche
Thank you

Anderson Valley Brewing
Anyone know why you apparently can’t find any Anderson Valley Brewing in Georgia? Briny Melon and the Watermelon Gose used to be our jam but they seem to just be gone now.
Discussion Rice lager
Anyone try it? Had a little today and enjoyed it but not sure I'd drink in volume. Alcohol content was 4.7%. Made by Japanese in America.

Used to think stouts were disgusting until I tried one that actually changed my mind
For the longest time I avoided certain beer styles because the first one I tried was just not it. Figured I didn't like the style and moved on.
Then you try one good example and realize maybe the problem wasn't the style after all.
Happened to me with beers before, and now I'm always a little more willing to give something another shot instead of writing off the whole category.

Discussion Treehouse overrated?
I just got back from a trip and picked up a case of Treehouse beer. I wanted to see what the hype was all about.
Let me tell you, from the beers I’ve had so far, it’s all just hype.
I’ve heard people call these beers smooth - they most certainly are not. They all have a hop bite to them. The DIPAs and TIPAs are boozy.
I’ve heard people call them flavorful - the flavor is generically hoppy and kind of bitter for hazy IPAs. There isn’t really a depth of flavor or any standout characteristics.
The IPAs have 4.5 stars on Untappd. Come on, they’re not that good.
This has been just another example that people buy into hype and regurgitate opinions as fact.
Were they better 10-15 years ago? Were they always like this? I’m trying to understand how a seemingly average product gets this reputation, and then maintains it.

Hot Take. The "winter warmer" style isnt that great and isnt much better than "pumpkin beers."
So the first winter seasonal in my area just showed up and of course its a winter warmer from a local regional brewery. I really want to like this style but its just average and meh to me. Id much rather have a stout or porter than this. It does remind me of pumpkin beers a bit with all the added spices. To go from marzens and festbiers in the fall to the winter seasonals is such a letdown imo.

Discussion Not a fan of Guinness
I'm usually a Weihenstephaner or Mich Ultra guy. People joke about ultra, but that shit is good lol. I tried Guinness today, I was not impressed, I've heard people hype it up, but I don't get it. It tastes like really dark coffee to me.

Revos beer concentration system
The Alfa Laval Revos™ lets breweries ship beer concentrate in order to cut bulk freight costs by up to 80%.
- The Tech: Uses a cold, two-stage high-pressure w reverse osmosis to remove water without heat; preserving flavor, aroma, and alcohol up to 22% ABV.
- Why it matters: Beer is ~90% water, so slashing volume by up to 80% drastically cuts shipping weight, cold-storage needs, keg turnover, and transport CO2 emissions.
- The Pour: The concentrate is shipped to pubs/venues and rehydrated + carbonated on the fly using a "Re-draft" dispensing tap.
Hope this work, because diluted beer sounds awfull.
Founders mortality bloom
Just opened a can and just straight foam. Haven't tasted it yet, but will never buy again. Trash beer...
