WRX Before posting please read this first!
READ THE SUB FAQ FIRST. 90% of the repetitive questions we see on this sub are answered there. Even if you don't have an issue covered in the sub FAQ it will likely help you narrow down your question. If you have a question you think should be added to the sub FAQ feel free to message any of the authors of the FAQ.
If you are troubleshooting, give us all the info we need. For example, it's best to include your year/model, any AND ALL mods, and the specific tune you are running. The more info we have, the better we are at answering questions. We also ask you try to post the question/info in the comments below before posting to the sub as a whole. This will hopefully clean up some of the really repetitive questions.
A few common posts/questions we see everyday.
Does my engine sound okay?
- 99% of the time the answer is yes. The fa20 sounds like a tractor. It is normal.
Are these numbers on the COBB AP normal?
- A snapshot of your AP with the DAM less than one doesn't actually tell us anything about what is going on. All it tells us is that you had a knock event that your ECU recognized and adjusted for. The most common cause for DAM drop is bad gas. Go get a fresh tank of 93/91 from shell and add a gallon or two of e85 for a full tank. I would also like to point out that knock numbers of -1.41 are super common. They can be caused by your AC kicking on and any other noise really. nothing to worry about.
This thing on the front of my engine is not spinning with the belts, is it broken?
- That is your AC compressor clutch. It only engages when the AC is on and the compressor is running.
Let me know if you guys want any other common questions added.

WRX 10 years ago i drove a different subi.
Bought this car in 2016 with my hard earned money selling weed in high school, drove this car over 100,000 miles when i was done with it she needed a new clutch, blown head gaskets, low compression on cylinder 3(3rd engine), completely rotten frame underneath and strut towers.
Took it in the ditch going 65 around a mile long icy turn one time and slid sideways until i hit an approach. The 2nd engine like melted in on itself when i went between 100mph-130mph the entire (most) drive home 85/100 miles. Sold it with 325k miles on the clock for $1,000 when i was down bad on money. Good times.

New WRX (New To Me)
I was buying a new vehicle back in 2020. I really wanted something that was a manual to learn. I was between the Subaru Impreza, Hyundai Veloster, and Subaru WRX. I decided on a Subaru Impreza 5 speed just purely from an economy standpoint for cheaper financing, insurance, better mpg, and likely cheaper maintenance.
A few months ago I bought a 2015 WRX and I’m passing the Impreza on to my girlfriend who is in the works on learning manual as well. I was out yesterday and got a few pictures when parked. She is by no means perfect. Currently I have an aftermarket exhaust which is one of my favorite things about it, and I plan on putting on my mudflaps after I wash it this week, giving it a nice wax before winter, and getting tints. I also bought it with the front lip and sti wheels (yes I know it’s not an STI, but they still look nice). I’m unsure what percentages I’m going to do for tints, so that will likely be some months down the line. Anyway, enjoy a few pictures I took yesterday!

I hit a roo
Genuinely concerned, I couldn't miss a roo on the road and it went under my car, I only heard a slight knock but what I'm hoping is just water is dropping from my passenger side, is this something to be concerned about??

General Question The WRX sub is more mod friendly than the Subaru sub so I am coming to you with some questions. Is a 2025 OBW manual swap possible?
Let me preface this question: I have a 2025 Outback wilderness, I bought it when my 2013 forester CVT shit the bed and I didn’t want to pay for a new CVT especially with oil consumption issues. I got the Outback cause I travel for work and needed the extra space for everything I need to live and it can haul my motorcycles. I love the wagon style.
I hate this CVT, it sucks all the fun out of Subarus and I miss the old stuff. I really want a manual. If Subaru would make a new hatch wrx I would eat the negative equity on this shitbox in a heartbeat. I know Subarus are like legos and a manual would have no issue bolting up to the FA24 but custom mounts and fab would need to be done.
With how many electronics are on these modern Subarus is it even theoretically possible to swap a TY75 into this thing or would the ecms and can protocols need to be reverse engineered?
I hate that the Outback wilderness is literally the perfect car for what I need but the CVT literally sucks so much donkey balls that it’s turned into me resenting this car completely. Thanks for reading and please let me know if it is even electronically possible to do a manual swap.
If any shop in the DFW/east Texas areas has even done this or would be willing to try doing this I would be open to communication as well.

My "new" bugeye WRX
Long story short, I purchased this bad girl for a pretty good price. She's got some cosmetic issues and a few mechanical. My plan was to fix her up somewhat quickly and have her as a mostly stock daily driver. But the dilemma I'm facing is that I'm starting to wonder if it's worth trying to do that, or sell it to someone for more than I bought it.
Car has just 138k miles on it and is an auto.
Heres the summary of her (known) problems below
Missing downpipe and midpipe (so no cats from there back.) Already purchased a very cheap catless full exhaust setup which I planned to just run with O2 spacers and a resistor for the up-pipe sensor because the kit came with a catless up pipe too.
Turbos exhaust turbine is chipped so will need a new turbo. Planned to purchase from A-Premium or whatever. Just a cheap like 250 buck turbo.
Misfiring bad due to P0340 code. Assuming belt is just a couple teeth off. Replaced sensor and it didn't help. Could be wiring harness too I guess. I'm just not sure if I want to tackle the timing belt myself. I hear its on the higher difficulty side of things and you can easily smoke your engine if you do something slightly wrong.
Also has the other codes shown in one of the attached photos. Any advice or suggestions would be sweet. I am not super knowledgeable at all when it comes to Subaru or any JDM cars as it is, so tips and tricks are cool.
Thanks so much, I'll try to respond quickly if anyone wants more info or anything.

Rebuilding the interior
Does anyone know where I can get like a bag of p# 35057AE000 ? They sell them individually but I keep finding more places where I need them so I’m trying to figure out if I can buy a bag of them.

Barn find 2002 WRX
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Happy Monday WRX people. This is my first post within this community. Recently I received the opportunity to purchase a 2002 WRX from my grandfather's home in Prescott Arizona. This story/explanation may be long but bear with me.
This 2002 WRX is in World Rally Blue, has 117k miles on engine and chassis, has a slew of period correct early 2000s modifications, and has a cross country rally history. It belonged to my step grandmother's son. The car was purchased sometime around 2004 and was immediately tastefully modified. It received the STI short throw shifter, a full APS stage 2 kit including a BOV, CAI, inlet pipe, full 3 inch turbo back exhaust, intercooler water spray system, APS badged alternator cover, and an APS Unichip piggyback ECU. I have not been able to find hardly anything about this company or its products save some historic forum posts. YouTube wasn't even a thing before this company went out of business so videos are basically non-existent. From what I've been able to gather, these parts were top of the line back in the early 2000s and are hard to find today.
Sometime in 2004-2005 it went on the AKA rally. A Gumball 3000 inspired rally from New York to Los Angeles. Ed Bolian went on this same rally and is featured in his episode of VinWiki "MTV followed me around the country at age 18". In order to enter this rally you needed to put on decal and sponsor stickers all over your car. The Arizona sun has forever burned these stickers into the clear coat over the cars 24 year life.
Unfortunately this car has been sitting around unloved for about the last 10 or so years. The interior is in immaculate condition. No cracks on the dash and the seats are barely worn. However, due to sitting in Prescott where there is a lot of wildlife, the engine bay has some extensive rodent damage. I have never attempted to fix anything electrical before, but I'm willing to give this car a good fighting chance. I'm debating on starting a small video series to document this awesome car and maybe uncover some more insight into its history.
Let me know what you guys think, id love to get some feedback/advice on what I should tackle first to get this car road worthy. Also let me know if you know anything about the AKA rally or APS parts. Seriously, I can barely find anything.

2012 WRX - Need help identifying part
Howdy all! I recently purchased this 2012 WRX. I probably was a bit overzealous and overlooked this portion of the underbody. It looks like the original skid "plate" (if I can call it that) was either removed/flew off. (along with some of the inside fender well.)
I believe this part is the exhaust cross over pipe. I just wanted to confirm anything else that I should go ahead and replace while I'm working on it. I'm guess I'd just go with a stock parts (aftermarket is fine).
Once it's done, I'm going to put on a metal skid plate just to keep this protected.
Thanks!

I’m looking for the cobb stage 2 93 ots map for my 2007 USDM WRX 5MT, AP3-SUB-002. DM please if you have!
I’ve seen stage 2 and stage2+ebcs, is the only difference between them is the ebcs?
My mod list to confirm compatibility:
Cobb SF intake
Cobb 3-port EBCS
Invidia n1 catback race exhaust
Invidia catted dp (need the tune to then install the dp)
Thanks!!!

Suggestion BOV/BPV Comparisons
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have a 04 wrx that’s been running a HKS bov for a good while and i’m starting to consider other suggestions for an alternative blow off valve or bypass valve. I am one for sound and sounding good when I’m driving by and I’ve looked at a few options and have ran several different other ones like GFB turbo, smart and Grimm speed and I am still on the top mount in a cooler as well, so just interested in seeing what other people have in my base my next decision on a new one of whatever sounds good and I’m open to both bypass and blow off valves :) video for sound clip my my scoobie

Engine Flush
I have a 2015 WRX with 104k miles. Oil change is coming up soon. Should I use OEM Subaru engine flush or Liqui Molly? Which one is better?

Help p0171
I recently had the battery unplugged and next day a p0171 popped on my 2019 Wrx car drives and seems very normal only thing I found was a bit of corrosion on the maf harness
So far so good just wondering if anyone else felt with a similar issue. Thanks!!
