Movies How would you react to Yoda's same advice he gave to Anakin in "Revenge of the Sith"

What if anyone in real life if anyone - let alone a Jedi - were to say you "Death is a natural part of life, rejoice for those who transform in the force. mourn them do not, miss them do not" as it to say that death of one's friends, siblings, lovers and parents should mean nothing to them. To my mind, that doesn't bring comfort or inspire profound wisdom as it sounds far too cold and dismissive to my liking.

General Discussion I always wanted Liev Schreiber cast as Baylon Skoll in Ahsoka

After the unfortunate and very sad passing of Ray Stevenson, I started thinking of actors that could take on the role and let me tell u, I was never picturing Rory McCann. He is a great actor but i just cant picture him looking like Ray's Baylon Skoll.

Then i came across this photo. To me, its a perfect fit. Ive always loved Liev Schreiber in everything he plays in. He and Ray are even the same height so I know its wishful thinking but, i wouldve prefered Liev as Baylon Skoll.

General Discussion Ways I think season 1 of Ahsoka could've been better.

I know I'm pretty late on this, but I had thought these were some cool ideas back then and I'm bored enough to share them. I might've forgotten a few of them so I might update later.

  • I think Marrok should've been Ahsoka's apprentice rather than Sabine. I know redeemed villains are pretty overdone not just in Star Wars, but in general. However, I have a few reasons for this.
  1. From both the Ahsoka and Maul series, we don't know anything about Marrok. We don't know what he looks like, why he became an Inquisitor, or anything of his background and personality. He just exists as another faceless antagonist.
  2. While the idea of anyone being capable of using the force could plausibly work, I don't think it was done particularly well, therefore having Marrok replace Sabine as Ahsoka's apprentice could fix this.
  3. It could give more weight to Ahsoka's fear of falling to the dark just as her master had. By taking direct responsibility of aiding someone on the right path, she would doubt her abilities to even do this for herself.
  • I think more rebels should've gone with Ahsoka and Sabine as volunteers. This serves a few purposes
  1. It would give some weight to Admiral Thrawns tactics to hold off the three from reaching his ship. Rather than just blowing past all of them unharmed, it would show both them and the rebel volunteers having to really fight for ground, and take casualties doing so.
  2. I think it could be a cool moment to have Captain Rex be who gathers these rebels. The hype of hearing him over the comms declaring he's coming with them along with everyone he's gathered would cause hundreds of thousands of Clone Wars fans to need to change their underwear.
  • I think Sabine should've died near the end of the series by Shin. This also serves a few purposes.
  1. It would prevent lightsabers from feeling like a useless weapon that anyone who gets impaled by can survive.
  2. It would give her character a tragic end. She had already caused her Mandalorian people's deaths. Having her realize in horror that she was directly responsible again for repeating the same mistake twice, only this time possibly dooming the entire galaxy, would be a good way for her character to go and to raise the stakes.

Those are my ideas and reasons for each, so hopefully they were good ones. Feel free to add your own.

General Discussion Time for something a little controversial: What were some things the sequels did better than the original and prequel’s trilogies?

For me, it’s their willingness to take risks in taking the story in new directions.

General Discussion Maz Kanata's exclamation of Han Solo's name was quite odd.

This led to a patron notifying the First Order of BB-8, resulting in the First Order destroying the castle and capturing Rey.

General Discussion What is the move Savage Oppress does to Master Halsey by grabbing his wrist to force him to drop his Lightsaber?

I’ve also seen Anakin do this to Barriss but I’ve never heard it having a name? Is it like Force Crushing their wrist or is it simply squeezing their wrist so hard they drop their blade? Is it a Lightsaber Form of disarm? Do they break the wrist when doing this? It’s so common in The Clone Wars I’d assume it’d have a name or something.

General Discussion What would have made Return of the Jedi a better movie and final chapter of the Original Trilogy?

Despite the final confrontation of Luke, Vader, and the Emperor inside the second Death Star of ROTJ being amazing, ROTJ is considered the weakest of the original trilogy by many critics and fans.

What (in your opinion) would have improved the movie while still keeping the emotional core of Luke trying to save his father?

Here are some examples that could have made the movie more interesting: Remove the second Death Star. Keep Luke having a sister but have it be an original character. Replace Ewoks with Wookies. Keep the climax of the Throne Room but have it be inside the Imperial Palace on the Imperial Capital planet.

Movies How do you handle watching old movies after having kids?

I keep wondering how having kids changes the way you watch the original trilogy. Before it was just the story and the ships. Now I catch myself noticing how Luke is basically a kid who keeps running off without telling anyone. Owen and Beru look like people trying to keep a house running while the galaxy burns around them. I never used to think about that part.

General Discussion Lowkey makes me sad how the mistake of star wars not utilizing their trilogy's cast to tell additional stories about them when they looked the characters' age and now having to resort to CGI and de-aging to depict them has happened not once but twice.

Post image

They're trying not to repeat the mistake by having the ST cast be involved in new projects like the upcoming SW episode 10 but I dont think most of the cast aside from Daisy and maybe Adam as force ghost are going to return anymore considering how bitter they sounded after the trilogy had wrapped up

Weather you like the movies or not I think we can all agree that they all had a very great ensemble of cast which got done dirty many times by the script and not all of them parted ways with their last SW movie project on happy terms. The fact that prequels actors came back after all the harassment itself is so great but idk if it'll happen with John or Oscar

If they wanted to tell more stories about the prequel characters I wish they had done so much earlier but I understand why they didnt. It still is lowkey saddening to know we wont be able to see Mark and Carrie as they actually were going on space adventures and have to rely on CGI for that

Movies I finally watched Rise of Skywalker all the way through. With the added context from later entries like Mandelorian and Bad Batch, it’s not that bad.

It’s not that good either, but I can at least live with it as part of canon. It’s no longer just “Somehow, Palpatine returned”, now we have a good idea how. Call it copium if you want, but we live in a time when people go to bat for the prequels. If they can get away with that, I can get away with this, lol.

There’s a lot of other plot contrivances I dislike (Why did Hux want Kylo to fail so bad that he was willing to help the enemy? Where did all the crew for all the Final Order‘s ships come from? How did they find the right moon in the Endor system and stand in the exact right spot to rip off this scene from The Goonies? And more.), but Palpatine coming back was my big one.

What we need now is context for how Luke went from refusing to kill his father despite all the suffering he had wrought across the galaxy to coming within a hair’s breadth of killing his nephew before he had even done anything wrong.

Movies Did Palpatine foresaw Anakin being burned alive by Obi-Wan?

Pretty much the question. Was it part of his plan, and he wanted anakin weak, or he just arrived on mustafar expecting obi wan to be dead and found anakin becoming the human torch?

Movies What if Anakins and Obi wan mission was successful?

Was watching episode III. In the beginning when they are going to rescue palpatine. What if they were successful and didn’t have to land the massive ship. Let’s say they get in and out of there without a problem.

Where was palpatine supposed to fit? 😂

Movies Who's the secret Jedi who ordered the clone army on Kamino? Spoiler

Well, first i was watching star wars movies i don't know if this the right order but the first movie was : 1. Star wars : episode I - the phantom menace. and now watching the episode II : attack of the clones. in this movies the jedi obi-wan kenobi was investigating about the bounty hunter who's hired to kill padme amidala, he found that there is an army being prepared called clones which made by a genetic template of the bounty hunter as what those kaminoans said to the jedi that it was a (secret) jedi who was giving this order . now my question is who's this jedi ? and second one if if this army is made to protect the republic and it was made by jedi why the bounty hunter jango was fighting in the side of count dooku and this doesn't make sense for me at this point !!

General Discussion Apart from Yoda and Grogu, has any other member of their species ever been officially named in the current canon?

Post image

We all know Yoda, and Grogu became a famous name thanks to The Mandalorian.
I know Yaddle appeared in The Phantom Menace and Tales of the Jedi, but do we have a name for their race, or any other named individuals in the current lore?

Movies Theory Why the Acting Was so Bad in the Prequels

Was it because it was one of the first movies where everyone had to do their acting in green screen and just imagine what's going on? Sorry i didn't do any research on if previous movies were mostly green screen shots. Probably everyone's first time doing this much extensive green screen. Good excuse to let everyone off the hook?

Movies How did Dooku kidnap the chancellor successfully?

Episode 3 opens with the chancellor having been kidnapped. The fact that Dooku could kidnap the chancellor right from Coruscant must’ve been quite embarrassing for the Jedi.

General Discussion With the complicated history of Battlefront, do you think they could successfully pull off a third game?

Watched this video today documenting the history of Battlefront, and honestly it’s insane how much the series has been cursed over the last twenty years.

I’ve been a casual player of these games since they first came out and I actually had no idea how pretty much every company that tried to make a 3rd game was either closed down or had the plug pulled AND the reboot had the crazy controversies surrounding microtransactions.

I find it surprising that they are even pursuing the third game today, do you think they can finally pull it off after 20 years? 🤔

General Discussion The biggest plot hole of Star Wars in my opinion.

Post image
566 Upvotes

Dooku practically spilled the whole Sith plan to Kenobi on Geonosis, exposing Sidious in the process. Then, When Dooku killed Silman, proving he was the "Man named Tyranus", practically exposing him as the one who hired Jango Fett to be the blueprint for the Clone Army.

Putting all of this together, its not hard to see that: Dooku helped to fund and make the Clone Army, killed Dyas and was the direct apprentice of Sidious, which he exposed as the chancellor on Geonosis.

Then, is Kenobi just dumb? Did he just assume Dooku was making all of this up on the spot? You can't convince me that Obi-Wan Kenobi did not suspect in the slightest that Dooku was telling the truth. And why didn't he investigate the connection Dooku had with the Kaminoans? He had the chance to uncover Order 66 and Papatine in the process, while ending the was while at it!

And also, did no one ever ask why and who helped to fund the GAR? 200.000 clones just appear and everyone is alright with it? the whole goes way deeper than i thought...

Movies Across all movies, what do you think is the dumbest scene?

Post image
3.7k Upvotes

In my personal opinion (and I’m not attacking anyone who likes The Last Jedi) it’s the “saving what we love” part from that movie. I’m sorry, but I think that scene has many issues:

1)It robbed Finn of a great sacrifice scene which would’ve completed his character arc.
2)It makes no sense logistically, as Rose somehow gets ahead of him despite having retreated previously, and also the First Order just lets them go back to the base without killing them.
3)The entire line is out of place, and the cut to the First Order laser blasting the base door is almost unintentionally comedic.

I know I’m beating a dead horse by criticising The Last Jedi in 2026, but still. This scene beats anything in the Prequels in terms of ridiculousness, and that’s saying something…
