Question❓ Has anyone found a way to break their lease with these evil property management companies?
These rental management companies that run basically every property around Purdue are such a nightmare to deal with. I'm currently renting with BK Management, and unfortunately they're even worse than when I used to live in a Granite property. I graduate in December and am moving back to my home state, but my lease goes until July, and I can't find anyone to sublet. Has anyone figured out a way to break their lease with these evil property management companies?
They won't even forgo my fixed $150 utility fee for the months where I won't be on the premises. I can't afford to keep paying this on top of my already way too high rent every month. According to them, there is no fee or anything that I can pay to break the lease early. I know there are a lot of elements in my lease that are actually illegal, but I don't think any of that is grounds to leave. If anyone has been in a similar situation (or know someone who has), I would love to hear how you were able to get out of a lease or at least lessen the crushing costs.
