I'm getting my boy neutered soon so that he can have female companions and stink less. Cause otherwise he doesn't like me and would be quite lonely.
I forgot to ask the vet if I should discourage activity during early recovery by for example taking away climbing stuff. He told me that recovery would be quite straightforward but I would worry about my nouse accidentally or non-accidentally ripping the suture site.

Hi everyone,
I’ve just gotten two female mice and one of them keeps fighting the other. They were raised together. I maybe got them 20 minutes ago, and they’ve fought twice. Just wondering if this behavior is normal or not, as I want both of them to be safe. I saw no blood, but they were biting each others’ backs and squeaking. Now one mouse is secluded to one side of the cage and has not moved since.
Would getting another mouse help this dynamic? Is this normal behavior?
Please help 🥲🙏
Edit: they’re in a Niteangel enclosure (40 gallons)

I’ve only had hamsters and after my last one passed i decided to to get mice instead so I got her a week and a half ago as well as 4 others. they’ve been establishing their territories and she’s the biggest so she’s been chasing everyone around but it’s calmed down the last few days. i don’t know if this is because she’s pregnant or because it’s a new environment. she’s pretty shy so these are the best pictures i can get of her but i can’t tell if she’s pregnant or just a bit fat.

Hey guys, anyone have experience dealing with this or know what these red spots/scabs may be? I just noticed them crop up suddenly on my 2+ year old girl Oreo. TIA

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts might be on my mouse tank. I've had two girl mice for the past 2months roughly. Pretty new to this. Feel free to leave a suggestion or ideas.

lol ok I always think of the phrase as quiet as a mouse, because my boy is anything but quiet when he’s up! Does anyone else have a really loud mouse? What do you think about this phrase? Anyways this is just funny because as I’m writing this he’s banging the wheel on the side of his cage to dig under it 😭

I'm thinking about getting pet mice and I have done a some research, but and need some tips on how to be a good mouse mom and I was wondering:
I know the females have to be in groups, but can I just own one if I am getting a male?
What are some mouse favourite toys?
Anyyy other tips that nobody ever told you but your learned from experience?

smol ✅ poor eyesight ✅ loves hides ✅ more than 4 limbs ✅ long sensitive feelers ✅ will walk all over you ✅ leaves tiny poop everywhere all the time ✅ can live happily in a terrarium ✅ adorable ✅ I could go on but it's pretty clear to me

I got this mouse from my niece a couple of months ago. He is around 3 years old.
The last two days, he has been out more than usual and looking around. Earlier today, he was sitting at the highest point of this cage and was squeaking loud enough that I heard it over the TV. He did it two or 3x.
This is him now. He is sitting at the high point again and he sounds maybe congested? He is very lethargic too but he’s eaten normally. Any advice?
I can see if my vet takes nice but I honestly don’t know. I’m new to this and it’s freaking me out lol.

When you cannot fall asleep....
Relax.
Concentrate on your body.
Imagine your back. Follow your backbone from the neck down, past your hips, down to a long, muscular, tapering tail.
Feel the shape of your head, forehead slanting forward, to a long, pointy nose., your receding chin, front teeth ready to nibble on anything that is in your reach. Your earlobes - thin, large, rose petal - like.
Feel every single of your five toes. Feel every single of your four fingers, because you have no thumb, just a little nub. Feel every single of your ten nipples.
Imagine yourself covered by fine, silky fur. Feel your whiskers. Feel your wrists and ankles, and the base of your tail, because that is where your bare skin, covered by a fine, peachy fuzz, meets your fur...
(Sorry, I do not know how to continue, because I always fall asleep before the nipples stage. But that is the whole point, isn't it?)

It took me 2 hours to clean everything and set up.... You can see their carrier at the right side from cage. And I know, cage is not very big for 2 1yo mice, but they have a lot of "out of cage" time on weekends (I'm in uni so unfortunately not living with them during the week) and one of them is extremely lazy. Idk, I just like the way this's look like :')

I plan to add more bedding the next time I clean the enclosure!! But I want my baby to have the best possible living conditions. Is there anything I could do better?
