People from uk give me your thoughts on the boys name ‘Blake’
I want you to explain what aesthetic/ vibe / energy comes to mind when you hear the name ‘Blake’. Try not to think of anyone with that name that gives you a bias.

Struggling with a baby girl name
Hi all, I’m pregnant for the first time and we’re having a girl. My husband and I can’t seem to agree on a name. We’re American but of Pakistani descent. We don’t really love Pakistani names but there are some really pretty Arabic names that we tend to find ourselves more drawn to.
My husband’s top pick is Ayah and mine is Ayla but neither of us have agreed as I don’t care for Ayah and he doesn’t like Ayla.
A name we seem to agree on now is Elena Nour for the first and middle. How do we feel about this and are there others that you all have considered that you love? Open to all the suggestions

Could you give me some ideas for names to pair with Sophia? Something elegant and modern.
She will have my portugueses surname, which is Sousa, but I would like to add another name, Sophia, so it becomes:
Sophia … Sousa.
We live in Germany.

Help name my son
I’m not sure if we have a specific name style we like, but just something not in the top 100 would be nice. Our first son has a very uncommon vintage name and second son has a more common (top 200) surname ending in er. We like soft sounds in the name but still want it to be strong.
Names we like:
Benson (maybe too trendy with Benson Boone)
Russell (we like but it’s a neighbors name)
Jasper (maybe a little too popular for us)
Atticus (just not sticking)
Lewis (maybe too simple)
Arthur (too common)
Edsel (too out there and don’t like Ed nicknames)
Wells (doesn’t go with W last name)
Timothy (don’t like Timmy)
Tommy (don’t like the full Thomas)
Sheldon (too much big bang theory)
Nelson (just isn’t right)

What’s your opinion on this initials
Hello! Could you please tell me if the initials AJNL (L is the family name) sound okay? I’m asking because they would be the initials of my child’s name, and I want to make sure they don’t have any negative connotations. I know I’m probably overthinking it, but I just want to be sure.

Julia(Yulia)?
F20. I want to change my name. What do you think about name Julia/Yulia? What are your associations? Is it usable now or outdated? International? How do pronounce it?

Whats a name hot take you have?
(For those who dont know a hot take is an opinion not many will agree with.)
I feel like whoever had the child should get the ultimate say in what the baby is called. No im not saying the father cant also have baby name ideas, just the person giving birth should have the ultimate say.

Thoughts on the surname Moon?
Currently going through a divorce and heavily considering just picking a new last name after it is finalized. I don't plan to change my name again if I were to re-marry.
I took my (soon to be ex) husband's name when we got married, and I don't like it. It's a color (such as: brown, grey, black, etc) and makes my name 1 letter off a famous adult film star whom I also bear a small resemblance to. Coincidence, but still not something I am fond of.
My maiden name is a complicated German name that no one is ever able to pronounce, and I despise being associated with my dad. I have other family whom carry the surname so i have no reason to keep it. It will not die with me.
Thoughts on Moon?
Also open to suggestions for short surnames. 3 syllables or less. Uncommon without sounding made up is the goal. I also considered Sinclair for a moment but it didn't feel right.
Initials would end up being AGM.

L names + M names for girls
My husband and I are on somewhat of a trend with matching first and middle name initial.
Ex. L first L middle; M first M middle and so on.
I have first names, just in need of middle names!
The middle name i have for M is too basic for me (may/mae) so I want to hear some pretty options!! I love type names that roll off the tongue!
Current L middle name I LOVE and have loved is “Lainey” but I want to see some other option’s
Not maya, Lylah, Layla, Emma, Evelyn, Elsie, Eloise, those are mostly names already in my family LOL.
Bonus for letter E!!! Elizabeth is on my list bc it’s classic and pretty so I want other options for the middle name.

Help me find a name to match my daughter’s!
I have a daughter named Rosalie and am having another baby girl. I want to know some names that match the essence of Rosalie - timeless, elegant, smart, maybe a little vintage, and have the options for nicknames.
I absolutely love the name Violet, but don’t want to have a floral or nature theme. Florence, Cordelia, and Valentine are three others that are on my list!!
Little Girl Due In A Few Days!! Completely Stumped On First+Middle Name Combos!
First names : Fiona, Katherine, Rhea, Victoria
Middle names : Colette, Olivia, or the other three first name options
Last name : Rhymes with Herald
Full List :
- Fiona Colette, Fiona Katherine, Fiona Olivia, Fiona Rhea, Fiona Victoria
- Katherine Colette, Katherine Fiona, Katherine Olivia, Katherine Rhea, Katherine Victoria
- Rhea Colette, Rhea Fiona, Rhea Katherine, Rhea Olivia, Rhea Victoria
- Victoria Colette*, Victoria Fiona, Victoria Katherine, Victoria Olivia, Victoria Rhea
(* "Victoria Colette" means "victory victory" so it's the only certain no-go)
If it's not too much of a hassle, I'd love to know which middle name you like the best out of each of the four first names, even if you aren't crazy about the first name, thank you so much!
Also note: We will be using the traditional pronunciation of Rhea which is RAY-uh. It's a very common way to pronounce it where I live, and it's a family name. We know some people will say it REE-uh too, but that's alright. Just when picking your favorite middle name for Rhea, please consider both pronunciations

changing my surname
hello, so i have a problem. I am going to propose to my girlfriend here in a few weeks. it is an ongoing joke between her and I about which last name we will be taking because I have different one I had perviously went by, my biological, my step-dads and my mom's. problem is I do not have a good relationship with any of them. I do not want to take any of their last names and make it mine legally (obviously not biological) so I'm in a stump, yesterday I asked her dad for his blessing/permission to marry his daughter and told him my dilemma. he agrees with me and says change it completely. I want a new start, i want to break the cycle and be my own man. this may not be a popular opinion but I know what it means to me. now with all that for context, what are some last names?
we both have agreed her last name is not something we want. i have asked and she was the first to say no lol. mainly ideas honestly, something meaningful and not to do with ethnicity.
Thoughts on the name “Domenico” / “Dominico”
Looking for your thoughts on the name “Domenico” / “Dominico”…both positive & negative!
What does it make you think of? Do you picture anything in particular? ((Vibes))
Does it inspire any assumptions about the parents?
Thank you for your help!

Opinion on boy names!
Looking for feedback on my current boy name shortlist, as well as suggestions for other names that might fit our style! 😊
The siblings, in age order, are Felicity, Augustus, Gideon, Phoenix, and Elodie.
We try not to repeat first initials between our children (middle initials can repeat), and all of our children’s middle names are more familiar, established names.
Ideally, I like boy names that fall somewhere around the 300–600 range in US popularity. I prefer names that feel established, a little old-fashioned, and recognizable without being overly common or trendy. I also try to avoid names that are rapidly rising in popularity, although I made an exception for Elodie because I loved it too much to pass up, even knowing the Ellie-name trend was gaining momentum.
I love names that feel distinctive without sounding invented or like we’re trying too hard to be unique. My current favorites are a little more unusual than my other children’s names, so I’m looking for an outside perspective on whether they’re wearable as first names or might be a little too out there.
My top four contenders (the more unusual options):
Nazareth(is this too weird?)
Laszlo / Lazlo
Wilder
Calloway / Callahan
Calloway and Callahan are a little outside my usual naming style, but I’m considering them partly to honor a family member, Cali.
Some of the more familiar options I’m considering:
Jasper
Declan
Malachi
Sullivan
I’d love feedback or suggestions for names with a similar feel: established, sturdy, a little uncommon, and preferably with some history behind them. Ideally, I’d like to avoid anything too trendy or anything that feels like a made-up spelling.
We’re in the US, so US popularity and naming trends are what I’m interested in.
Thanks for reading! 😊

Changing my name
Hi all! I’d love help changing my name. My name is a normal, ordinary, regularly used name. However I’m just ready to start over with a new name. (Long story but I want a new beginning) I thought of a list of names that people have recommended I could pull off and narrowed it down! Curious on your thoughts on these names! Baylor is my favorite and the one that everyone says they choose for me so just curious what you guys think? I like unisex names if you couldn’t tell but my regular name isn’t a unisex name. It’s very girly and normal. I am a girl and identify as a girl in case that’s needed.
If you have others outside of this open as well but would love thoughts on this list!
I’ll see if it will let me post pics of me in the comments

Thinking about rearranging my name
My boyfriend and I aren't even engaged yet, so this is pretty preemptive, but it'd rather think on a decision for a while before I have to actually make it. (We've talked about engagement extensively, so I know it is coming in the somewhat near future).
So let's say my name is Jane Mary Doe, and my boyfriend's is John Smith (His last name actually is Smith, which is part of the reason I'm so set on keeping my birth last name as part of the equation)
I'm thinking I could start using my first and middle name as a two part first name, and make my maiden name my middle name.
So it would become
First: Jane Mary
Middle: Doe
Last: Smith
I've been using "Jane Mary" informally for a long time, and things like my Facebook and license have my full name opposed to just my middle initial. I also have been using "Mary" as my name for pickup orders and such because it's easier to pronounce and I get a lot less spelling errors (usually) than my first name. (First name isn't super unique, there's just a lot of individual possible variations).
One thing to note is even though me and him both have very short last names, my current first and middle combined is 13 letters.
I have thought about making my middle name "Mary Doe" but then I would become "Jane Smith" and that is way too common for me. I feel like I would be losing my identity at that point. Regardless of my slightly unique first name, I've checked and there are multiple other people with the same first/last name combination.
What are people's experiences with having a two part first name? Is there anything I would have to be aware of before making this change, legally? (I am in America) I appreciate all input and thoughts! This is still very much me testing the waters, but it's my favorite name change combination I've found so far!

Accidentally saw that my date has a literal Notion dashboard tracking me and I don't know whether to laugh or lock my doors.
Before everyone immediately yells "run for the hills, serial killer", please hear me out. He has been nothing but kind, funny, and respectful. We’ve been out three times and the chemistry felt totally effortless.
Last night we were at his apartment picking a movie on his laptop. He opened his browser and for three seconds while clicking between tabs, his Notion workspace was right there on full screen.
There was a dedicated database page titled with my first and last name.
I swear I wasn’t snooping, it was just right in front of my face in bold text. Underneath my name were actual subheadings: "Key Interests", "Dietary Restrictions", and then a section called "Potential Friction Points" where he had typed: "talks fast when nervous, doesn’t seem to like hiking, monitor communication cadence between dates."
He clicked away quickly and didn't realize I saw it, but my stomach dropped through the floorboards. On one hand, I guess it’s kind of sweet that he wants to remember details about me? On teh other hand, I felt like a quarterly business review or a specimen under a microscope.
Am I crazy for finding this deeply unsettling, or is this just how people with ADHD or tech jobs date now? I genuinely don't know how to act on date four knowing I’m being graded.
