Discussion Sick and tired of the OLED market!

Its been 5 years since oled gaming moniters have come out and all the industry has been doing is bread crumbing us for years, there are 34inch gen 5 qd oleds but no 27 or 32 inch. It has been 2 years we still on gen 3 27inch 1440p qd oleds. Oh look new tandem gen 4 woleds! Never mind! Banding and dse issues. "Theres new monitor coming out next year" the next qd oled coming out in the UK is a gen 4 qd oled 320hz in 6 months..... you can buy a gen 5 34 inch at 360hz

Im locked to buying a 4k monitor which i will never use to its potential, or a 34inch that costs an arm and a leg will suffer from inverse burn in.

Wtf is going on, whens this going to end.

Text Review KTC M27P6S Technical review | Color Accuracy & Response Time Measurements

Hey everyone! I’m IMartz, a monitor reviewer from Spain. I’ve tested the KTC M27P6S and wanted to share some measurements and a few details beyond the glossy panel and 2,304 dimming zones.

A few findings from my unit running firmware 1.01:

  • Glossy coating: In my experience, it reflects even more than a glossy WOLED, so room lighting matters quite a bit.
  • Local dimming: High reduces blooming, but dims small highlights and makes vignetting more noticeable. In DisplayHDR with LD High, I measured around 765 nits at 2% versus 1,668 nits full-screen.
  • Color and response times: Even Warm is too cool out of the box. Standard overdrive averaged 5.54 ms at 160Hz with low overshoot.
  • 320Hz overdrive quirk: It’s locked in the OSD but adjustable through KTC’s software, where the settings are shifted by one step: selecting “Off” actually applies Standard.
  • MPRT + VRR: Both can be enabled together, but I experienced substantial flickering and the MPRT preset sometimes disabling itself.
  • Input lag with LD: Other reviews have reported increased latency with local dimming enabled. Using OSRTT/LDAT, I observed occasional spikes but couldn’t identify a consistent trigger or reliably reproduce the reported increase on my unit. That doesn’t rule it out, but my results aren’t conclusive.
  • Checkerboard contrast: In my 3×3 SDR test at 100% OSD brightness, the KTC went from around 1,040:1 with local dimming off to 3,400:1 with LD High—a relatively modest result for a Mini LED. The older Xiaomi G Pro 27i reached 9,620:1 with LD Medium in the same test, despite having half as many zones (1,152 vs 2,304). More zones didn’t translate into higher checkerboard contrast here.

At first glance, on display in a brightly lit store, the glossy finish and Mini LED FALD backlight could make you mistake it for an OLED. Once you spend some time actually using it, though, the differences become obvious, particularly with blooming and how small highlights are handled.

For general gaming, I’d personally go with a 1440p OLED, especially with GPU prices being what they are here in Europe. But if you’ll make good use of the 4K resolution and can live with the issues I showed in the video, I think the M27P6S is worth considering—particularly since it can be found for under €400 here in Europe.

Spanish is my native language, so the video is in Spanish, but you can watch it in English using YouTube’s translation feature. My website is also available in English, and the link below should open directly in English.

Discussion Why do FPS gamers not use IPS?

Sup folks,

I’m currently thinking about buying an 240hz IPS monitor at an affordable price for CS2 , Apex and Valorant. While doing some research i found out that pros, streamers and high rank players almost all use either TN or OLED. I wonder why that is? I know that OLED has a lower ms, but why do they use TN with horrible colors?

Discussion Problem with new monitor when using with PS5

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have got the MSI MAG 273QP QD-OLED X24 recently. It is brand new.

The picture quality looks amazing and I like the upgrade. However one thing is driving me crazy. I'm using it for my PS5. When I load a game or application, it will show the game background for 1 second then the screen turns fully black for approximately 7-15 seconds then loads. Same issue happens when closing the game.

I noticed when I turn 120hz off and VRR off (on my PS5) it fixes the issue. But the issue remains with apps like YouTube but shorter (5 seconds). Can anyone please help? Is this a fault or can I fix this? I genuinely cant be bothered going through the return process which takes weeks unless i really have to. Everything is good except this one problem.

Discussion Is the Lenovo Legion Pro 27UD-10 Worth It for €530? OLED Pixel Shift and 30 FPS Gaming Concerns

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I have a question for you guys!

I recently came across the Lenovo Legion Pro 27UD-10 4K monitor, which apparently launched in the US a few months ago for around $1,000. I can currently get it for €530, which seems like a pretty good deal.

What do you guys think about this monitor? Is it worth buying? Does anyone here actually own one, and what has your experience been like?

I haven’t been able to find that many reviews, but most of the ones I’ve found seem to be positive.

However, there are two things I’m a little concerned about, especially since this would be my first OLED monitor.

  1. Pixel Shift

I recently found out that this monitor has a Pixel Shift feature that apparently cannot be disabled. I’ve read that some people find it annoying because the image shifts slightly to prevent burn-in.

Does it actually bother you when using the monitor? Is it something you can notice during normal gaming, or is it pretty much unnoticeable? I have quite sensitive eyes, so I’m a little worried that it might bother me.

  1. How bad is 30 FPS gaming on OLED?

I’ve also heard that 30 FPS games can look really bad on OLED displays because of the fast pixel response times and the way motion is displayed.

I’m considering buying this monitor partly in preparation for GTA 6. I’ll mainly use it with my PS5, but I might also connect my ROG Ally while it’s docked and my Switch 2.

Since GTA 6 might run at 30 FPS on consoles, I’m wondering how noticeable the difference would be compared to my current monitor. Would playing GTA 6 at 30 FPS on an OLED really feel that bad, or is it something you can get used to?

Right now, I’m using a 1080p IPS monitor, and I’m actually very happy with it. I just feel like upgrading to 4K OLED, especially since this monitor is currently available at what seems to be a really good price.

Would you recommend making the upgrade, or would I be better off sticking with my current IPS monitor?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences and opinions, especially from people who own this particular monitor or have experience with 30 FPS gaming on OLED!

Thanks in advance!

🚨 20 DAYS & NO REPLACEMENT! My gaming monitor replacement (RMA: INSS261000494) has been approved for 20 days, but ViewSonic corporate refuses to ship it. As an esports player, this is destroying my career and livelihood. Frontline support offers zero help. I have filed an official government complaint (NCH Grievance: 10542928). Grievance Against: ViewSonic India (Technology/Electronics Sector) Service Partner involved: F1 Info Solutions & Services, Ahmedabad Hub

Subject: Severe Deficiency of Service, False Assurances, and Financial/Professional Loss due to Unresolved Monitor Replacement Case ID: INSS261000494

Respected Authority,

I am filing this formal grievance against ViewSonic India for an extreme deficiency of service and gross negligence that has been ongoing for 20+ days, directly impacting my professional livelihood as an esports player.

Grievance Timeline & Facts:

  1. On 9th October 2026, I registered a formal breakdown complaint for my ViewSonic monitor under Case ID: INSS261000494.
  2. On 10th October 2026, an authorized technician from ViewSonic's local service partner (F1 Info Solutions) visited my residence in Ahmedabad, inspected the device, and officially approved a 1-to-1 brand new unit replacement. The technician explicitly committed to resolving the swap within a maximum of 10 days.
  3. It has now been 20 days. When contacted, the F1 Service Center states that the replacement stands fully approved from their end, but ViewSonic India has failed to dispatch the product from their warehouse hub.
  4. ViewSonic's centralized helpline is offering zero transparency. The support staff continually repeats scripted responses ("We understand your concern, please wait"), flatly refuses to connect me with senior management, and provides no concrete dispatch timelines. Furthermore, multiple official emails sent to their support channels have been completely ignored.

Impact: This monitor is not a leisure device; it is a primary tool for my competitive esports career and a source of earnings. This indefinite, uncoordinated delay by the brand is causing me direct professional regression and active financial loss.

Remedy Sought: I request the intervention of the Consumer Helpline to compel ViewSonic India to either:

  1. Provide the exact dispatch details, tracking number, and delivery date of my brand new replacement unit within 24 hours.
  2. Or, issue a full refund of the invoice amount immediately so I can procure an alternative device elsewhere and resume my work.

I have attached the original invoice, the technician's visit/approval proof, and copies of my unanswered emails for your reference.

Thank you, Harshil Bajaji Phone: 9106618604 Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Discussion Short review for the KTC M27P6S. Impressive mini LED monitor you probably shouldnt sleep on

Today I finally received the KTC M27P6S monitor, and I have to admit, I had my doubts about whether the specs were true and if they could actually pull it off. But after using it for around half a day now, I can say the monitor delivers on all its promises!

Mini LED IPS, HDR 1400, high nits, high PPI, glossy screen, 4K 27 inch, 160Hz 4K or 320Hz 1080p. It has KVM, USB C, and plenty of other features.

I immediately played a bit of Arc Raiders and The Witcher 3. The quality is astounding, totally on par with OLED.

The previous monitors I used were an AOC 32 inch IPS and a Dell 27 inch IPS. Both were just... not it. Those didn't have Mini LED. But I finally found my monitor. I hope I won't run into any dead pixels down the line. For now, I double checked and there is nothing, but I'll keep looking over the next few weeks.

For those in Europe, you can buy it from bol.com or AliExpress. Keep in mind that this is the KTC M27P6S, not the older KTC M27P6. They fixed pretty much all the issues the non S version had.

Oh, and for anyone who only wants to use HDR while gaming or watching YouTube or movies, give HDRTray a try. It’s a simple tool to enable or disable HDR and works perfectly even on dual or triple monitor setups.

Buying this for €385 feels like a steal. For anyone who is hesitating, I'd definitely suggest giving it a try. It's absolutely worth it!

Discussion Horizontal line glitches on my MSI monitor [MSI MAG274Q QD E2]

• Upvotes

My monitor [MSI MAG274Q QD E2] started doing these horizontal glitches a few weeks ago. It was only on lower refresh rates. 60 Hz or 144 Hz. Now it started doing the glitch and 165HZ and 180Hz too and it's worse than 60 Hz. As you can see in the video.
How can I fix this? Anyone have any idea?

Here's few things I already tried:
1. unplugging and plugging DP cable.
2. Using HDMI ports. Also tried with separate cable.
3. Updating monitor firmware.
4. Turning off monitor for few hours.
5. Heating screen with hair dryer. [saw some clips on youtube]

Btw I'm 100% sure it's not a cable thing and its monitor itself. because the lines appear even when nothing is connected to it. And I'm also sure this is not the screen issue itself because when I am in 60Hz the lines appear on top of monitor and in 180Hz it appears in lower part of screen.

Sad part is I crossed warranty period 2 months ago. and I'm not sure if this is fixable or not. I spent a lot for this monitor. If anyone is familiar with this, please tell me if it's fixable.

Is it normal for an OLED to have this weird uneven look? I am not really sure how to describe this. It’s like light coming through linen blinds or something lol.

It happens with HDR on or off. I dont notice it in content/gaminf, only in windows apps or normal programs like claude, web browsing.

Monitor: Gigabyte MO27Q2A 27” QD OLED. Only about 100 hours of use time

Discussion Looking for a 27-inch gaming monitor for my new PC (7800X3D + RX 9070 XT)

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I ordered a new PC yesterday with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an RX 9070 XT, and I'm now looking for a suitable 27-inch monitor. My budget is around €300.

The games I mainly play are LoL, CS2, and Guild Wars 2.

I'm getting a bit overwhelmed by the monitor market, as it feels like every model has its own drawbacks. Opinions on different panel types seem to vary quite a lot, too. For example, many people swear by Nano IPS, while others report eye strain or other eye-related issues with it.

I'd prefer to avoid OLED for now, mainly due to budget constraints. However, if there's a really good OLED monitor available for around €300, I'd be open to considering it.

Which monitors would you recommend, and what has your personal experience been like? I'm happy to hear specific model recommendations as well. I'd be particularly interested in your experiences with image quality, motion clarity, and any potential downsides in everyday use.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Discussion Struggling to find the right balance

I'm in the market for a new monitor - right now I have a cheap Acer 32" 1440p with a VA panel. It's blurry, the blacks smear so badly that I have to crank the black levels up to max to mitigate it which completely negates the benefit of high contrast from the VA panel. It suffers from some minor VRR flicker, but most of the time it's not too distracting.

I bought a 34" Ultrawide KTC H34S5 which has an HVA panel. Motion blur I would say is only minorly improved, though the black smearing is much better. Colours and contrast is great, but the VRR flicker is really bad on this monitor, to the point where I would consider turning it off entirely which is really unfortunate. The pixel density at 34" ultrawide (and similarly 1440p 27" 16:9) is much nicer than my current 32". Also, the ultrawide was kind of... underwhelming. It's nice while gaming, but not a gamechanger. I thought it would be useful having the extra real estate for productivity/desktop use too, but I find it's not really enough to make a meaningful difference and I usually just end up with wasted space so I'm a little on the fence about the 21:9 ratio.

I briefly considered a regular 27" OLED, but I will use the monitor for work too which involves documents in the same position for many hours at a time so I have concerns about burn-in and text clarity, and from what I've ready VRR flicker can still be an issue with OLEDs.

I'm also considering a cheap IPS mini LED such as the KTC M27T6S which would hopefully have contrast similar to the HVA, but with better motion and no VRR flicker. I've read very mixed reviews however regarding local dimming bloom and its viability for desktop use, as well as potentially a high failure rate for that particular model.

It seems like no matter which technology I choose there's a pretty significant downside. Feeling a bit lost in the weeds here and struggling to find something that I'm confident I'll be happy with without breaking the bank. Would love to hear the community's thoughts and experiences on the various technologies. I'd honestly probably be happy with the HVA if not for the VRR flicker, so if anyone has some tricks for how to reduce that problem I'm all ears.

Discussion Tried three AOC U27G4XM monitors after reading positive reviews — all three had different issues

I bought three U27G4XM units after reading several positive reviews, and honestly, the experience has been pretty disappointing.

  • Unit 1: Had a dead pixel.
  • Unit 2: In Onimusha, with HDR enabled, particle effects caused the surrounding areas to flicker rapidly, almost like a broken streetlight.
  • Unit 3: The particle flickering was much less noticeable, but I noticed thick vertical banding in certain scenes, similar to this post. In my case, disabling VRR seems to fix the issue.

What bothers me most is how different the three units behaved. These issues are also incredibly difficult to detect with standard monitor test websites. The dead pixel was easy to find, but the flickering and vertical banding only became apparent in specific in-game scenes, particularly with HDR enabled.

I'm using an RX 7700 XT, so I can't completely rule out a GPU driver or VRR compatibility issue. However, given how differently these three units behaved, it's hard not to question the panel consistency and quality control.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with the U27G4XM or other Mini-LED monitors? I'm particularly interested in whether the vertical banding is a known panel characteristic, a VRR compatibility issue, or something related to the GPU.

It's hard to understand how a monitor that receives positive reviews can have such inconsistent real-world results across three units. I'd appreciate hearing about other people's experiences.

Discussion Recommendations for a new monitor

Hi everyone

I’m not sure if this is the right place but I was looking to get a new monitor and I want to keep it round the 34 - 36 inch size

I have a MSI mag 321cuppdf 32 inch monitor and I love it but I just wish it was a bit bigger

I’m not sure if I should go for a 4k monitor or Oled monitor I primarily use it for gaming tbh most of this terminology is lost on me

I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or ideas

Discussion Not sure if I should go 4k or 1440p with my specs and use case

Hey everyone,

I've been wanting to upgrade to OLED since I built my current PC 2 years ago but at the time OLED monitors were still expensive so I didn't pull the trigger and went with Gigabyte M27Q X, a 27" 1440p 240hz IPS.

My specs are Ryzen 7 7700 + RX 7900 XT and I also have a PS5 which is used to play games that don't release on PC or release on PS5 first so I might play a game every once in a while there (examples are Bloodborne, Demon's Souls and the upcoming GOW Laufey).

On PC, most of the time I'm playing League and Valorant with friends, but whenever a game that interests me comes out I'll play it, some examples of franchises or games I've played are Souls games, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Expedition 33, new MMO releases (like AION 2 recently), etc.

Apart from gaming I also watch anime on PC and consume a lot of media (mostly Twitch and Youtube).

The models I'm currently considering are:

  • 4k: Gigabyte MO32U24, Samsung G80SD and Gigabyte MO27U2
  • 1440p: Gigabyte MO27Q28GR, MO27Q28G and MO27Q2A

I'm only considering these models because of the included speakers, which I use when I'm playing on the PS5, as I don't think getting external speakers is worth it for the once in a while instance I use the PS5. Waiting for the release of 360hz 4k models or Gigabyte MO27Q40 as the 1440p model next year is also a possibility, if any of them have included speakers.

With my specs and use case should I go 4k or 1440p? Also should I wait for the release of any of the new models mentioned or not? Thanks in advance for reading!
