No more mod reserve requests?
I don’t know if it’s just me, but it’s been quite awhile since I’ve received a request to assist a sub.
I guess I just wanted to see if Reddit just isn’t getting a lot of requests anymore or I’m not receiving calls anymore.

Most recently I got pinged when the LA fires started. I regularly get requests at least once a month.

I've been receiving requests relatively regularly.

Damn, it must be something up with me then. I don’t even remember the last time I received a request.
edit: I just checked and the last request I got was 172 days ago so I’m not sure what’s up

Do you think they randomize it? Not every member gets one at the same time? Or maybe it has to do with response. Did you respond to the last one you received?

I didn’t get any requests for quite a while, and then suddenly started getting them again. The dry period was maybe half a year or so. Some of the recent ones were

Yeah it’s been 6 months since I last got a request so maybe I’ll start getting them again 🤷

Reddit reserves now require a regular opt in. If you haven’t registered again you won’t get mod reserves calls.
Edit: it’s actually explained in a sticky on the front page of this subreddit.

I used to get requests all the time but I haven’t received one for a couple of months now.

The few I have sent modmails never responded to me, even to say they had enough people. So I don't even bother to volunteer anymore

I received a request recently due to a natural disaster in the US. Not sure how much more I can/should say.

I've applied a handful of times to join the reserves, but never got accepted to the program. I'd really like to be a member, even if it's just for smaller subreddits. I don't know why, but I either got invited to this subreddit or got the message about become an "approved user" for this subreddit shortly after applying my first time, which is why I joined it. Point being that the whole system is weird. Somehow I got invited here or approved to be here without being part of the program. Makes me kind of wonder how things work.

Heya! This is most likely due to an attempt at better distributing inbound requests for help across the membership. Alas, it doesn't seem to be working as intended as I can see a few people who didn't receive any while others received several alerts, so I'll take another shot at fixing that soon.
There are a few hundred members right now (and growing!) so we try not to send every inbound request to every reservist. I suspect this will become even more important as usage of the Mod Reserves continues to increase.
*edit to add: I made some adjustments to the member selection query so it should be working a bit better now.
