I don't know, in my opinion it looks bad, mainly on a white background. What's the deal with whitening out icons lately? 😭

Went back to Sequioa

Let’s go. Ive never been more excited to go back to Sequioa.

I missed the good battery life
I missed launchpad.
I missed being able to drag and drop from Outlook to Safari.
I missed everything!

I kept myself away from Tahoe for the whole release. I gave golden gate a chance but its killing my battery! In Sequioa, i end my day with 45 to 55% battery. In Golden Gate, it goes from 100 to 10 in a little more than half a day.

I could pretend all other bugs aren’t there. But man, the battery life is horrible in Golden Gate! Really HORRIBLE BATTERY LIFE.

I skipped Tahoe, I will skip Golden Gate. I hope the next one is better. Or i could keep it tahoe for 2 more years.

Managed to turn macOS Golden Gate into OS X Mavericks again, in light of the new update with the black and white Apple Music icon that looks so boring. The apps I used were RetroMac (using the Mountain Lion theme), Lickable Menu Bar, and several other retro-inspired macOS apps from the RetroMac website. What do you think?

Has anyone found stage manager on MacBooks to be a helpful feature? I have tried it many times but it was adding more friction to my workflow

It’s less glitchy, and search is instant. I also discovered two keyboard shortcuts that I find really useful:

• Reveal in Finder (⌘R): I remapped it to ⌘ + Return using BetterTouchTool (BTT), triggered on key release. For some reason, I can’t access the right-click context menu using ⌃ + Return. For now, I can only open it by right-clicking with the cursor.
• File filtering with / : You can type /pdf to filter PDF files, for example, but you still need to press the Down Arrow and select the filter manually.

Overall, it’s a better Spotlight experience. However, these extra steps and missing workflow shortcuts may still keep power users on Raycast or Alfred, as both offer much more powerful customization and automation.

Note: I disabled the Ask feature in the right-click context menu via Terminal, but doing so also made Visual Intelligence disappear from screenshot and screen-capture apps such as TextSniper and CleanShot X.

Finder windows don't disappear when selecting another window. Is anybody experiencing the same issue? Has anybody found a solution?

Since Golden Gate 27.0, MacOS is having this issue dropping connection to the Internet, while connected with a functioning WiFi. This happens, when:

• Online for more than an hour
• MacOS / MacBook has gone to Screensaver or Sleep for a few minutes
• WiFi is 100% Working, all other devices are working perfect
• Connection to WiFi is still shown, though no pass through of data packages

Only fix so far - disable WiFi for a moment, then re-enable. This works for about an hour max, until the loss occurs again.

Anybody having another fix or workaround?

Recently I noticed that my m4 air' siri is using huge amount of CPU and It is happening even when i dont use the siri. and because of this my laptop becomes too much hoter and hard tu touch. is there any solution for this problem?

I'm running macOS Sequoia 15.8.2 and tried downloading Numbers from the App Store, but I got hit with an error saying it requires "macOS version 26 or later".

Has anyone else run into this weird version requirement glitch? Is there a workaround to get it installed or am I missing something obvious?

My mac chugs along nicely for days (Mac Studio M4, 64GB/2TB) and then at some point I will attempt to open an app - any app - and the icon will bounce for roughly 200 times. I have to wait for it to stop bouncing and then restart. If I attempt to open another while the first is bouncing I'll have to wait for that to stop bouncing also. Help :(

What’s this? Just noticed it. Didn’t realize when it has become like this. Why am I being robbed by window size now? Menu bar supposed to be at the same level as the notch and camera.

Hello: I am a former Windows user from Spain. I have no experience with Macs. I recently purchased a MacBook Air M5. I have macOS "Golden Gate" installed, with the latest updates. I had to install Java 8 (Oracle) update 511. The question is quite simple, though I haven't been able to get an answer. I am concerned.

Is it normal for the section created by the Java installer within the Mac's System Settings to be completely blank, preventing the Java Control Panel from appearing? Java seems to be working correctly for me. Is this a bug in Java or its installer? Could it be an issue with my macOS installation? Should I restore my Mac to factory settings via the System Settings to try and fix this?

I updated last night and woke up this morning to find the folder color looking a bit lighter. When I tried to change it back, I ran into complete incompetence. The bottom slider does nothing, and after a while it glitches and crashes the entire Appearance page.

I was wondering seeing if you all can help with a minor annoyance I’ve had since updating to Golden Gate. I have a plethora of landscape photos taken from our travels and one of the nice things about Tahoe was that you can have different pictures across your virtual desktops (I had it set to random shuffle so random wallpapers were displayed across the virtual desktops). However after the update to Golden Gate, the wallpapers shuffle randomly, but they are the same picture across my desktops.

Interestingly enough, the pictures are different on external, dock connected monitors but still the same on my MacBook screen virtual desktops. I have the random picture setting enabled on wallpaper and have it show on all spaces (same settings I had on Tahoe).

Just a bit perplexed on why the random picture shuffle is now disabled across desktops. It was a nice way to go down memory lane and revisit places that we have been to, which is why it is a slight annoyance. Is anyone else having this issue as well? Is there a setting that I am missing to enable it?

So my Mac Studio (27.0.1) delivered a message in the customary upper right corner that the all new SIRI was ready for action. I asked three questions related to nearest restaurants and gave up after three of these messages included.

Is this the old norm, does the old girl need compression paddles or is there an easy fix?

I am trying to customize the appearance of macOS, especially to expand the options for icon tinting, interface colors, text color in the Finder and the menu bar, and other similar features. I remember that many years ago macOS was more customizable than it is now, and I doubt there aren't people who feel the same way and are trying to do something about it. Its a Unix system after all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2020 MacBook Pro and some of the keys are no longer working. I can’t afford to be without my computer at the moment to take it into the store for repairs so I’ve been using the accessibility keyboard and have bought a new wired keyboard. At the moment all of the keys I need for my Lock Screen password are operational but I worry that this could change at any moment and I’ll be locked out as I saw some people not being able to use their wired keyboard at the Lock Screen.

I went into settings and under Lock Screen I toggled the Accessibility Keyboard on but it is not showing up on my Lock Screen when I have to type in my password after a restart / shutdown. The keyboard is there if I can open my computer with Touch ID but not if the password is necessary. I’m confused why it’s not on the screen despite it being activated in my settings. Is there anything I can do fix this? Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Sequoia wallpaper is bugged out just after updating to macOS 15.8.2 on Intel 2020 MacBook Air i7 16gb ram 500gb ssd (worst timed computer ever, I know) I understand that the wallpaper is actually a 3d model that moves when it becomes a screen saver, but it seems it's missing a texture on the bottom of the trees. Never seen anything like this before.
