Drivers, stop breaking traffic laws by “trying to be nice”

• Upvotes

If you’re stopping traffic when you have the right way to let someone else go, you’re not being nice or considerate. You’re being a fucking asshole by creating more traffic and causing a more dangerous situation.

Stop trying to do your good deed for the day and just follow the damn rules.

WDRB is ruined.

Have been a big fan of WDRB news and their team for many years, but am I the only one that feels like they have ruined WDRB altogether with this WDRB +WAVE merge?

Missed Connection

Long shot but I meant a nice group of women at Midnight, Margaritas and Magic at Clifton Tavern last friday. I enjoyed our brief conversation and failed to get your contact info. Jessica, Darcy, and Mimi were their names. I was the guy who sat down with you all and had a sequin witches hat. I'd love to connect with Jessica again. That's all I know lol. Anyhoo, shooting this into the void - here's hoping this finds you.

WDRB/WAVE Cut Off the World Series Game in the 10th inning?

Gray Media sucks merging these two together and showing their incompetence by switching over to the news in the middle of the game.

EDIT: Finally got it switched back in the top of the 11th after beginning to show Big Bang Theory

What businesses in Louisville gives the most money-laundering vibes?

What business do you drive past and wonder how they’re still open? You never see them have business or if they do it’s one person.

Is anyone missing a black cat?

Found him last night. He appears to be pretty young, maybe 6 months? Not sure.

found in Plainview apartment complex, on Hurstbourne.

Is this anyone’s cat in the Springhurst/Bay Pointe neighborhood?

He is missing an ear and his tail is mangled, but he also appears to have been recently shaved on his back side, so I am not sure if this is someone’s cat or not. He’s super friendly!

Voting for Shameka Parish-Wright

With the mayoral election next week I’m genuinely curious about Shameka Parish-Wright. I consider myself decently informed on local politics and I just haven’t heard much from her. What are your opinions on her positions and why should I vote for her?

I really want to hear opinions based on her, not just that Greenberg is bad etc. Why should she be our next mayor?

Did you or a loved one lose your walking stick?

I found a very unique walking stick left leaning against a bench at the Nature Center. I waited there for a while and then turned it to lost and found inside the Nature Center.

I thought it was too risky to leave leaning there as I almost took it just thinking cool find. But it's definitely an owned stick.

If this is your lost stick, go in and describe it, and it will be returned.

Hope it finds its owner. What a stick it was.

Publix

So today my friend and I finally made it way out to Publix off Old Henry. For ages you constantly hear people singing the praises of this place. Now I will say the cheese selection is crazy huge. The soup and salad bar is amazing, along with the wings and Chinese food bar. But I'm sorry. Kroger has Publix beat on prices. At least on stuff I buy. Also Publix, why don't you put the prices of your products in the app (some products do have prices)? And some places in the store, products have no prices.

So all in all Publix just isn't for me. Plus it's like 20 miles from where I live.

I was over at the station today and saw they have an outdoor pet chip scanner to use I guess if you find a lost pet. That’s pretty cool.

Louisville death row meal?

Let’s play a game.

You’re on culinary death row, but the warden is ordering food from anywhere in Louisville.

What’s your exact order? I’m talking about a specific appetizer, main course, dessert, and drink from any spot in town.

For example I’m taking:
Scotch eggs from Irish rover, Rueben and fries from CJK Deli, long John from nords, and a good old ale8.

See you on the other side!

Weird Smell Across the Neighborhood

Is there anyone who lives near Garrs Ln and S. Crums in Shively that is smelling something completely disgusting in the air over the neighborhood right now? Started this morning around 8 A.M., reported it to Air Pollution Control but its still there and arguably worse 4 hours later.

Parks with ponds or streams, quiet and easy to get in and out of

Looking for a quiet, serene park with a pond or stream in Louisville. Somewhere with little to no people where you can spread out a blanket and read a book or have lunch during the week. Would need to be easy to get in and out of since I'm limited on time. As in, not hiking to to pond. Any recommendations for a quiet place to relax?

My faves are the Parklands - Beckley, Turkey Run, The Strand and Broadrun. I’ve taken pics of eagles, owls, hawks, otters, deer and more. Great wildlife and hiking trails

Halloween Costume Events

I just got a Halloween costume passing by a local bar event; however, it turns out the event was only last Friday- I missed it. So I have gotten a costume without much of anywhere to go in it.

I want to avoid a situation like last year where Halloween was sitting in the house in my costume waiting for Trick or Treaters that never came. What Halloween events are there to be wearing a costume? Do some places have restrictions on costumes (like no props, no face covering/masks) The only way I've seen people talk about this kind of stuff is on Instagram, but I'm not really active on that platform and wouldn't know who to follow or check with really. And 4th street tends to be just standing on balconies/stairs based on my experience- but that is at least my fall-back plan!

Happy Halloween everyone!
