Hi everyone. Please be on the lookout for these posters around campus and DO NOT scan the QR code. It leads to malware. Pull them down and recycle them. Thanks.

Question for education majors, please!

I'm a sophomore and I was just officially accepted into the education program (secondary major) and I was informed that I have to attend a mandatory orientation for the program that is supposed to last 3 hours.

I'm just wondering what exactly occurs at the orientation and what to expect. I'm going to ask my advisor too but I wanted to get a student's POV too.

Halloween events

Hey y’all!
Hope you doing well.
I am a grad student and I was wondering whether there is an event or party for the Halloween anywhere around.
My girlfriend is visiting this weekend and I want her to have some fun.
Thank you

I made a subreddit for people in Louisville to connect and find new friends and things to do, I’d appreciate it if you’d check it out!

What's the Marketing(BSBA) program like at UofL?

I just applied. They seem to have a lot of opportunities within analytics, digital marketing, political marketing, etc. It doesn't seem like it would be too bad, but I wanted to hear from students who actually go here. What is it like?

How decent is UofL's computer science program?

Currently a student at JCTC with a huge interest in Computer Science (yeah i know job market is cooked but might as well get a degree in something I love) and I just want to know how is the program there at UofL? How good or bad is it?

Any helpful opinions would be greatly appreciated!

22 | Louisville 👋

New to the area and looking to make some genuine friends. I’m into soccer, gaming, working out, traveling, food, and exploring new places. I’m also learning English, so I’d love to meet people who are down to hang out and help me practice.

Always down for good vibes, good food, and new adventures 🤝✈️

Thanks for your help

ASL or French?

Hey all, I'm a junior studying communications and I have a foreign language requirement of 6-8 credit hours (bachelor's of science)

I tried taking Spanish as I took French in high school and thought it'd be easy but I barely made it a week in and had to drop it because it was too fast paced for me so I wanna try again next semester so I'm taking 3 classes right now.

Now I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I don't know whether I should take sign language or French

On one hand, I'm thinking sign language as it doesn't really require speech and the only real challenge is remembering which gesture is which, on the other I'm thinking French as my high school memories will come back and make it easy

Which one would you recommend and why? What are your experiences?

First time going to a Louisville Cardinals football game parking question

Is there a parking garage that runs a shuttle for football games for a senior citizen with bad knees and uses a cane but doesn't have a handicap placard/tag? I called the Floyd Street Parking Garage and was told that only for students.

Any suggestions on parking in a somewhat makeable walking distance? Pre-pay parking? Thank you in advance.

Social media impact interview

I am looking to interview someone at UofL about the impact of social media. Unfortunately it is not paid, so no money exchanges will be available.
If you are
1. Between the ages of 17-19
2. Are a student at UofL
DM me and we can exchange contact information through the UofL emails, I will not accept personal emails since this is for a class of mine
The interview will be through teams and it will be recorded, so keep that in mind if you decide to do the interview

Looking for an Advisor for a club

Hello,

We’re an unofficial club on campus called Community Through Gaming. Earlier in the semester we were looking for members and we actually have had good turnouts. We have about eight members who have came consistently or in consistently to the last several game nights we’ve had.

We have also gained a Vice President and Treasurer which has been a great success for only starting meetings the last month! Though we are in need of an advisor if we’d like to apply for funding and start fundraising for local nonprofits in the area and do bigger gaming events!

If there’s anyone that’s interested please give me a DM. We’ve tried reaching out to several offices in relation to clubs as well as social or engineering and haven’t heard much back!

Thank you so much!

Where to Find Fellow WLW

Hi!!!! I want to know if there are certain clubs or events on campus y'all frequent, or stuff you're into. You don't actually have to strictly be wlw, lesbian, or bi, but I just wanna hang out with and befriend girls who aren't as focused on guys, who aren't as conventionally feminine (like myself), and have interests/hobbies they're really passionate about. Basically just wanna connect with more girls or non-binary people like myself.

Louisville at 2-2 with two losses by a combined six points, at NC State Saturday (plus a free CFB pick'em)

Hey guys, quick look at where the Cards stand after the Wake loss.

First, since it's in the title: we run a free weekly college football pick'em. This week is 10 games, pick the winners, nothing to buy, $135 in prizes. Picks lock Saturday at noon ET.

https://www.mainmarket.com/c/college-pickem-wk5

Now the Cardinals. That 30-27 loss to Wake as the No. 16 team in the country hurts, and it's the second three-point loss after Ole Miss (41-38) in Nashville. Kienholz was great: 27 of 36 for 324, a TD through the air and two on the ground. But Wake ran 21 times with Ty Clark for two scores, and a field goal with six minutes left was enough.

So 2-2 and 1-1 in the ACC, but this team is a few plays from 4-0. Saturday is at NC State, 3:30 on ACCN, then Florida State comes to town. Splitting those two isn't good enough if they want to stay in the ACC race.

What are you guys seeing? Is it the defense, or just bad luck in close games?

Research involvement

Hey all, What's the best way to get involved in health research at UofL as a non-UofL individual? Could be community research work, data related etc?
