Are you looking to make more mates in Liverpool? We host in-person events where you can meet people who are also looking for friends like you. Come join Liverpool's biggest group chat.
If you're looking to get out a bit more and do some new, fun things, joining Liverpool's biggest Discord server is a great start!
It doesn't matter if you're a Liverpool local, just moved here, old or young, or just happen to love our city from another country. You are welcome to come and say hi. There's 1,000 messages being sent every day.
We have channels dedicated to photography, movies, photography, fitness, sport, music, showing off your pets, and even a place you can post your Wordle scores if you want.
What's Discord?
Discord is like a big Whatsapp group. You don't need a microphone, just your phone/keyboard. All we ask is that you're over 18, and have a desire to make new mates in Liverpool. Pop in, say hello, and you choose how much you want to talk.
Who's in there?
We have members from Liverpool and further afield. You don't have to live in Liverpool to join the chat. The average age of people is about 28. Our server is different than most Discord servers because we have a genuine community of awesome people who want in person friends, not just a digital life.
What won't happen
You join and inside 24 hours, you've got a whole new set of mates.
Contribute, come to a few fun things, talk to people in person, and over time, those friendships form. A lot of people get frustrated because they don't find a friend overnight but that's not how friends work. Be prepared to make the effort and people will make the effort with you.
Real life events, real life friends. Come have a go!

News / Blog / Information Nightwalk Webapp for Liverpool River of Light 2026
nightwalk.dessimat0r.chatgpt.siteI made a webapp for myself I'll use tonight at River of Light 2026 and thought I'd share with the rest of you. It lets you start in any place to see all of the exhibits and it'll route the optimal walking path between all of those you want to see. The advantage is you won't have to mess about with plotting it on any map app. It's free, and sure, it is vibecoded in ChatGPT over a few hours - but did have a lot of tweaks to it (also consider this an alpha.. it's probably likely to have some bugs). I do find the default layout/ text a bit cringy but it's easier to leave it there than mess with it too much.
It also has exhibition info, opening times, important info, etc. Hope it helps!

Photo / Video Just loved my stay in Liverpool
Spent a couple of days in Liverpool last week and loved every second of it. Really enjoyed the Albert Dock, which I believe to be an absolute must see. Had some lovely weather last thursday which is when this picture was taken. Too bad the Slavery Museum was closed for restauration. My stay was short, but I feel there is so much more to explore in this wonderful city and will definitely be back soon. And for the time being, guess I'll just have to make do with 'This City is Ours'.

Question / Discussion Does Liverpool have any skill workshops?
Looking to see if there's anywhere offering skill workshops in things like sewing, DIY or electronics tinkering. Or alternatively just a place I could go to try these things out without buying a load of kit myself really.

Question / Discussion Liverpool docks area redevelopment
Hii, I am not from Liverpool (or UK for that matter), but I am writing an essay about the Liverpool docks area redevelopment & the loss of the World Heritage Status that followed. UNESCO stated that the WHS was removed because part of the material heritage was destroyed and/or obstructed, but I cannot find a lot of other information on that. Therefore I was wondering if people here know where I can find more information or whether people here know if there are any exact historical structures that were demolished/obstructed for the redevelopment of the area.
I have a feeling UNESCO just meant the general area, but it is important for me to know for sure whether there are specific structures that got lost in the redevelopment. I am especially interested in the areas of Liverpool ONE and Hill Dickinson Stadium, but any extra info on the redevelopment and material heritage is welcome. Thanks :) !
EDIT: I want to emphasise that I am not here to express a personal opinion on whether UNESCO was right or whether the redevelopment is good, that's not relevant for my essay and I do not think that is something for me to speak on since I am not from Liverpool ;).

Question / Discussion Has anyone watched that G’wed show?
It got recommended to me by someone, who is a bit of gobshite tbh, as “Scouse derry girls“. I watched the first episode and it reminded me of the Harry Enfield scousers more than anything, most of the characters sounded like they were from Birkenhead and I didn’t like how stereotypical it was y’know. Anyways wondering if I’m just being overcritical and need to give it chance.

Visiting Liverpool Shopping suggestions
Hi all. We will be visiting Liverpool in December and staying next to Liverpool One. We also plan to visit Cheshire Oaks.
Is there anymore recommendations for places to shop.
We also want to visit a George at Asda (a large one if possible). If one could let me know the nearest one. Don't mind travelling on the bus.

I’ve messed up my damn foot and I can’t walk, so am going to miss this gig at Blackpool Bootleg Social on Friday. Absolutely gutted because I loved The Commitments in the 90s and was so looking forward to a boogie in a dive bar!
It’s sold out, so if anyone wants mine, it’s available at https://www.ticketswap.com/listing/robert-arkins-commitments/22526524/72b53a50f1 (hope that’s OK to post - Mods, please let me know if not and I’m sorry).

Event Pub quiz - Lime Street Central
Hi. Posting on here to try to generate some interest.
Quiz every week isn't getting as many numbers as we'd like and could do with a fresh injection of new players. Prize for the winners is a 40 quid gift card to spend in the bar. This week is a bit of a Halloween theme, so it will be fun.
Please share with anyone you think might be interested. Proper pen and paper quiz with a music round at the end, none of that smartphone fastest to press the right letter bollocks. Cheers!

Question / Discussion What’s the City Centre like nowadays?
Hi everyone,
I’m visiting the city in the coming days to see some friends. I haven’t been in a long while (early 2000s) and I’m aware that there has been major work done, especially on the waterfront, since then so I’m just curious as to what the feel of the city and the waterfront is like today and do people feel it has improved?

Question / Discussion Barbering market in Liverpool; recruitment
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some insight into the barbering market in Liverpool, mostly from local barbers or shop owners. I've worked in other parts of the UK for about 4 years, but it was always that fast-paced, 20/25 minute "conveyor belt" style. For the past few months, I’ve finally switched to 45-minute slots, and it suits me way better. I want to stick to this and find a similar appointment-only shop in Liverpool where I can focus on quality.
How does recruitment usually happen over there for these types of shops?
Do owners post jobs on Facebook groups, Indeed, or websites?
Or is it better to just drop a message with a portfolio straight into their Instagram DMs?
Would love to hear how the market looks right now and what the best approach is.

Question / Discussion Page moss McDonald’s cat
I’m not sure if anyone will know what I’m on about but every-time I go to page moss Maccies there’s always a little tabby cat in the carpark. I’ve seen it a few times.
I went macdonalds tonight and the same cat was roaming around the drive through, I asked the staff if they knew anything about the cat and one of them said she looks pregnant and they don’t know if she has an owner but she’s always there.
I went closer to the cat and its belly was hanging down it definitely looked pregnant, but it ran off into the bushes. I’m really worried about the cat especially if it has kittens and they’re all roaming around the carpark and by that main road.
Does anyone know if this cat has an owner? If not I want to take her to the PDSA or possibly see if it has a chip. I didn’t manage to get a pic but it’s a little light grey tabby thing. Quite small.

Event Newsham Scream Park ticket swap – 6pm for 7:30pm on Friday 30th October?
Hi everyone!
Bit of a long shot, but I’m hoping someone might be able to help me out! 😭
I’m going to Newsham Scream Park this Friday (30th October) with my friends, and we’ve all managed to get tickets for the same maze. Unfortunately, everyone else has a 7:30pm slot, but I could only get a ticket for 6pm.
I’d really love to do the maze together with my friends, so I was wondering if anyone has a 7:30pm ticket they’d be willing to swap for my 6pm ticket?
I know it’s short notice, but I thought it was worth asking on here just in case! I’d be so grateful if anyone could help me out. ❤️
Please drop me a comment or DM if you’re interested. Thanks so much! 🙏

Looking For Friends 20s/30s just moved to Liverpool — looking for gig buddies / album launch crew (indie/alt)
Hey everyone,
Im a 31 year old man just moved to Liverpool to look for work in the Maritime Sector I recently moved to Liverpool and I'm looking to connect with people (ideally working adults / out of uni) who live and breathe live music. I want to build a regular crew for gigs, intimate album launches, listening parties, vinyl hunting, and independent promoter nights around the city.
I am completely over the massive, chaotic city mixers and loud pub crawls where everyone just gets smashed and you can't hear yourself think. I'm much more up for grabbing a quiet pint or a coffee beforehand to actually talk about music, and then heading into the venue together.
I have attached a screenshot from an app showing a list of my favourite artists and bands to give you an exact idea of my music taste but I generally have a broad taste and always up different stuff.
Also keen to meet people who play music want to jam etc I play guitar and stuff never been able to really play with other people. So an avenue I want to explore defineitly.
If you see some crossover with what you listen to, drop a comment or send me a DM! Down to coordinate for upcoming shows anywhere in Liverpool.
- Indie, Alt & Modern Rock: Sam Fender, Nothing But Thieves, The Snuts, Inhaler, Blossoms, Royal Blood, Sprints, Fat Dog, Lambrini Girls, DMA'S, Keyside, The Rions, Lucia & The Besties, Those Damn Crows, The Haunted Youth.
- Classic Indie, Psych & Alt-Legends: The Smiths, Gorillaz, Nirvana, Green Day, Beck, Foo Fighters, The War on Drugs, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, The Flaming Lips, Public Service Broadcasting, Teenage Joans, Embrace, Mountain Boy.

Thanks

Question / Discussion 19m moving tomorrow to Liverpool solo, any advice?
Hello all scousers 👋
I'm an Irish 19m on a gap year moving tomorrow to Liverpool to work until the next college year starts. My ma is from Liverpool and I have been over on around half a dozen little trips across my life so far. Definitely wouldn't say I'm familiar with the city but have been fond enough of it to decide to live there for a while + connect with the place she is from.....
I'm here to ask for any advice, hostel to stay? places to go to make friends? Anywhere hiring fast? Anything else you think could help me?..... I'm going into this blind and although I'm confident things will work out, I think I probably left it a little late to start doing any research on the city besides my general knowledge from family visits.....
I'm really open to any information or help going, if you have any tips drop em or if any want to meet for a coffee,
But mostly I need a quick job to afford to stay so if anyone knows anyone hiring, or if any of you gents or ladies want to hire me perhaps 😅😂.....
Small side note that could annoy a few but UTFT 💙🇮🇪
Thank you

Question / Discussion Organising a meet up in Liverpool
I've seen there's a lot of discussion on here regarding making friends in Liverpool. Anyone up for organising a meet up with a few of us?
I've got ideas for places and we could just meet maybe make a group chat if that's something everyone's comfortable with?
So we can connect to everyone in a similar age range (which I think often people prefer for friendship) I was thinking of making this a 23-30 group?
Let me know what you think?
(Note: I'm not a business by the way, so this is not a promotion of any sort. Just a guy looking to establish some friends in the city).
