All going up in prep for next week, but what is the point of putting them everywhere?
It's all the same stuff, overpriced hotdogs and rough warm wine or rip off pick and mix.
They'd be better in one defined area than spread out everywhere and in the way of access to shops

I have compiled the following list of gay/LGBT+ bars/clubs/venues/businesses* in Greater Manchester. There are several other lists online, however most are out-of-date, and they all ignore anything outside of Canal Street. This is thus the most comprehensive list currently available; I’ve added a brief description for each one (n.b. I am not affiliated with any of these venues).
If anyone has any additions/corrections, please DM me and I’ll edit as appropriate.
\Meaning any venue which caters for and markets itself towards a predominantly LGBT+ crowd, not just ‘gay-friendly’. Casual social/meet-up groups not included. Worded also to aid Google SEO.*

Stations integrated into the Bee Network will see new investment in infrastructure (ensuring step free access), better signage and wayfinding (branded with Bee Network yellow), upgraded information screens and enhanced CCTV.
It’ll also mean the Bee Network app and website will have info on those trains. You’ll also be able to tap in and out at these stations.
Eventually, all stations in GM will be part of the Bee Network, and the trains will have their own Bee Network livery. It would be the start for a proper S-Bahn or London Overground style service.
First wave of stations will join in December 2026 (article has typo and says December 2027). Second wave in March 2027 (they had to delay some of them). Third wave in December 2027. Fourth wave in December 2028. Final wave by December 2030.

Hey friends,
My husband and I are going to be in Manchester on bonfire night. I'm English but he's American and this will be his first bonfire night in the UK. Do you have any recommendations for somewhere that does a fire and fireworks, maybe a jacket potato stand? 👀
We're staying near the arena but happy to travel for the evening. Would prefer somewhere that won't be too overcrowded if poss.
Thank you!

This is Harrold, he's a house cat that got out. If you're in this area please check your garden and let us know if you see him. He's friendly but skittish. Black/grey with green eyes. He would get stuck easily unfortunately.
Thank you for any help it's appreciated 👍.

I swear those humps on the M62 between Warrington and Manchester are getting worse.
I hit one yesterday in the 3rd lane and came out of my seat. It seems crazy they haven't done anything about them for this long, they're quite dangerous, I'd imagine at least a few people have blown tyres out hitting them at speed.

Good news - Alex Hornsby, Customer Director at Northern Trains, has said in his blog that Northern and Trans Pennine will allow passengers to board a train up to three hours later than the one they’ve booked for if your flight is delayed - you just have to tell staff at the station and they’ll sort it. No word in when it’s introduced, the post sort of implies it’s immediate.
https://alexhornbyrail.substack.com?utm_source=navbar&utm_medium=web
“Picture the scene. You land at Manchester Airport, your flight was delayed, you run down to the station, and then the sinking feeling hits: your advance train ticket is only valid for that exact train you've just missed. You kick yourself that you were over-prepared in buying a fixed advance ticket but now have to stump up extra ticket costs, adding unnecessary stress, and so results in a pretty miserable end to what should have been a great trip away.
Not anymore - we hope.
“We’ve just made an important joined-up decision to help customers travelling to and from Manchester Airport with both Northern and TransPennine Express (TPE). And it’s the kind of common-sense thinking we need a lot more of across the railway.
“So, if your flight gets delayed and you miss your train, it doesn't matter whether you’re travelling with Northern or TPE, or whether you're holding a fixed ticket or not. We’re essentially throwing a bit of flexibility your way, allowing you to hop on another train up to three hours later, completely free, without needing to fork out for a brand-new ticket.
“All you need to do is speak to the team at the station, let them know what's happened, and they’ll sort it for you. Simple, straightforward, and designed to give you genuine peace of mind.
“The best part? How this actually happened.
“While the policy itself is a brilliant step toward that "one railway" mindset as we approach GBR - making things simpler, fairer, and more convenient - the story behind it is what makes us most proud.
“This wasn't born out of some endless set of steering groups or programme meetings months down the line. It was brought to life within days of Northern, TPE and Network Rail colleagues getting out and about during a recent Performance Week, where over a hundred managers focus attention on one route to get really forensic about things that delay our services or cause a problem for customers. They saw firsthand the absolute hassle that rigid rules were causing tired, delayed customers, as well as the delays and hassle it created for our conductors and stations teams, and they wanted to fix it.
“It’s again ultimate proof that getting out there, rolling your sleeves up, and truly feeling the customer experience matters. That’s why we are launching our first Customer & Growth Week this November, and already over 170 managers have signed up. More on this in a future post.”

Hi!
In two weeks time I'm coming to Manchester for a wedding. Due to flights I'm coming a few days before my other friends, and I'm planning on spending time writing and reading. I don't want to be cooped up in my hotel all the time of course, so I'm looking for recommendations of where to grab a pint or two for a solo woman of 28.
I've been to Manchester before but it was many years ago now (maybe 5+) and I mostly only went clubbing in the gay village. Now I'm looking for something a bit more lowkey.
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,
I have to pick up my Mother from T3 later tonight at the airport.
The flight lands at 21:40, so I was going to arrive at 21:30 to make sure I am there for her arrival.
However, having just checked the airport website, I am unable to stay longer than 15 mins which means I would have to leave by 21:45. I don't think this will be long enough for her to get out of the airport in time, but if I arrive at 21:45 and she gets out slightly early, I don't want to leave her waiting due to her being very tired from working and suffering from mild agoraphobia.
I don't know how long it will take for her to get from the plane to the pick up point. So if I arrive at 21:40, when the flight is scheduled to land, I am unsure if 21:55 will be long enough. I also can't really afford to pay £15 to stay in a short stay car park for an hour.
Anyone have any suggestions or help with timings for the 15 mins at the express pick up?

I was celebrating a milestone birthday there on Saturday and - given that it was everything I wanted from a celebration - would love to recreate the night as a Spotify playlist!
If you were there and remember any particular songs that were playing, please could you drop them in the comments? A hefty combination of birthday excitement and blue raspberry vodkas has left me with patches in the old memory bank 😆

I have family visiting Manchester and would like to invest in a property in southern Manchester. Would it be possible to schedule viewings between the 25th and the 3rd of Jan? I know a lot of agencies are closed during these dates but I was wondering whether specific real estate agents or offices are known to be open.
