Question / Discussion What’s the City Centre like nowadays?

Hi everyone,

I’m visiting the city in the coming days to see some friends. I haven’t been in a long while (early 2000s) and I’m aware that there has been major work done, especially on the waterfront, since then so I’m just curious as to what the feel of the city and the waterfront is like today and do people feel it has improved?

Question / Discussion Has anyone watched that G’wed show?

It got recommended to me by someone, who is a bit of gobshite tbh, as “Scouse derry girls“. I watched the first episode and it reminded me of the Harry Enfield scousers more than anything, most of the characters sounded like they were from Birkenhead and I didn’t like how stereotypical it was y’know. Anyways wondering if I’m just being overcritical and need to give it chance.

Visiting Liverpool Shopping suggestions

Hi all. We will be visiting Liverpool in December and staying next to Liverpool One. We also plan to visit Cheshire Oaks.

Is there anymore recommendations for places to shop.

We also want to visit a George at Asda (a large one if possible). If one could let me know the nearest one. Don't mind travelling on the bus.

Edit: thankyou for all the suggestions guys will look into tomorrow!

If you're looking to get out a bit more and do some new, fun things, joining Liverpool's biggest Discord server is a great start!

It doesn't matter if you're a Liverpool local, just moved here, old or young, or just happen to love our city from another country. You are welcome to come and say hi. There's 1,000 messages being sent every day.

We have channels dedicated to photography, movies, photography, fitness, sport, music, showing off your pets, and even a place you can post your Wordle scores if you want.

What's Discord?

Discord is like a big Whatsapp group. You don't need a microphone, just your phone/keyboard. All we ask is that you're over 18, and have a desire to make new mates in Liverpool. Pop in, say hello, and you choose how much you want to talk.

Who's in there?

We have members from Liverpool and further afield. You don't have to live in Liverpool to join the chat. The average age of people is about 28. Our server is different than most Discord servers because we have a genuine community of awesome people who want in person friends, not just a digital life.

What won't happen

You join and inside 24 hours, you've got a whole new set of mates.

Contribute, come to a few fun things, talk to people in person, and over time, those friendships form. A lot of people get frustrated because they don't find a friend overnight but that's not how friends work. Be prepared to make the effort and people will make the effort with you.

Real life events, real life friends. Come have a go!

Photo / Video Just loved my stay in Liverpool

Spent a couple of days in Liverpool last week and loved every second of it. Really enjoyed the Albert Dock, which I believe to be an absolute must see. Had some lovely weather last thursday which is when this picture was taken. Too bad the Slavery Museum was closed for restauration. My stay was short, but I feel there is so much more to explore in this wonderful city and will definitely be back soon. And for the time being, guess I'll just have to make do with 'This City is Ours'.

Question / Discussion Does Liverpool have any skill workshops?

Looking to see if there's anywhere offering skill workshops in things like sewing, DIY or electronics tinkering. Or alternatively just a place I could go to try these things out without buying a load of kit myself really.
