We've been making some small adjustments to the rules and infrastructure here in r/kpoppers recently.
The primary things we're trying out starting today are the 'Games & Grids' flair for posts and also allowing Images and Gifs in comments.
The 'Games & Grids' flair should be used for any thread games or grid fill-ins. We'll see over time if this name encompasses everything we intend it to. It has been requested by users and we think it's a good idea, so let's give it try!
Images and Gifs are now allowed down in comments. We want to be careful with this one. Media like this should NEVER be used to mock, harass, or threaten any of your fellow users or artists. Use media appropriately in response to discussion topics, games, or in fun conversation with each other.
If you see Images or Gifs being used crudely or inappropriately, please report the comment immediately so the moderators can take action.
Rules were also updated a little in late June. Here are the main ones to note:
2. Use Descriptive Titles - Titles should describe the content of the post. Do not use vague titles for Fan-made content. Funny posts may be more flexible and creative.
4. No Artist Photo Spam - Artist photos should only be posted with relevant context. They should be funny or related to the post's topic. Photos alone will be removed.
6. Keep Content Light and Fun - Discussion topics, Jokes, and Fan-made content should be positive in nature. We want to keep things light and fun in this subreddit. Heavy or negative content will be removed.
We may end up adding more new rules related to the 'Games & Grids' flair and the appropriate use of Images/Gifs in comments later once we see the range of how they are used by everyone.
We'll also note that we are aware of how often a trend will take off here, be adopted by dozens of posters, and quickly overwhelm the subreddit. This is somewhat inevitable for a community that has less restrictive rules and is more of a free-for-all of fun content. Each time this happens, users ask us to implement new rules and flairs. We are hesitant to do this each time because these trends typically run their course and fall out of popularity eventually. The times when we have responded more quickly to specific trends have resulted in the trend dying completely and immediately being replaced by a new one. We'd be on an endless chase to limit them if we tried this every time, which isn't necessarily healthy for the community either.
But if you have any other suggestions for handling trends or for anything else that might help us improve the subreddit at all, feel free to chime in below!

This question was somewhat inspired by the recent disbandment Tempest. Many fans stated that the group was never the same after Hwarang left since he contributed a lot to the group. I also got the idea for this from this post on r/askteddit.
Edit: A group doing fine after the member departure does not automatically disqualify them from being an answer.

AA was my very first KPOP group I got into heavy back in 2012 thanks to their song "Because I'm Crazy" (That MV is fucking AMAZING) and their EP was fire. Was my first exposure to this kind of world and then they all went their separate ways kinda in 2015, I was so heartbroken at the time hahaha.
It's crazy how after them I just couldn't get into anything after them (Been an on and off KPOP guy for years) like their choreography and vocals were truly unmatched least for me (They truly were some amazing talents). I was one of the main ones that enjoyed their time in the sun for sure. At least Aoora still sings and performs (He was always my fave one in the group lol) Always nostalgic for this group. ❤️

Just had a listen to JUSTB's EP and it heavily reminded me of 2nd-older 3rd gen Kpop kind of club music. I love how they're still following their sound from the 'Snow Angel' album and Chest (which was one of the best releases for me last year).
Even the only ballad in the EP 'My soft spot,' also sounds similar to the softer tracks of 2nd-3rd gen albums. So I recommend this EP to anyone who's kind of music was early 2010's or to anyone who's looking to listen to new songs!

You know that song that starts playing and suddenly you're walking like you're in a music video, feeling 10x more confident for absolutely no reason.
For me, it's LOCO by ITZY 💙 The beat, the energy, the attitude… suddenly I'm living in my own music video.
What's your song? I need to add some main-character anthems to my playlist.

Some songs just hit different live 😭 What performance made you appreciate a song way more? Could be an award show, encore, concert clip, anything.

are there any songs from any group (title tracks, b-sides, any song whatever) that are shorter than 3 minutes that you honestly think feel complete and are perfectly fine as is and don't NEED to be longer? like sure, we can WANT it to be longer. we could always WANT another chorus or a longer bridge (or a bridge, in general, if there isn't one to begin with) but maybe... maybe the song doesn't NEED it and it's actually works great the way it is
for me, this cuts very close to 3 minutes but i think "black mamba" by aespa doesn't need to be any longer even though it's 2:55. i also think "moonstruck" by enhypen (2:39) and "perfume" by nct dojaejung are complete enough to me.

Hi everyone! As a fan who loves BOYNEXTDOOR's unique vibe and stage energy, I recently put together a dance cover for Viral.
Learning this choreo was honestly quite challenging because of all the subtle details and high energy, but I did my best to pull it off! I'd really appreciate it if you could check it out and share your thoughts.

When people discuss Aces in Kpop I feel like the same names are always brought, and with good reason, they’re phenomenal: Taemin, Han Jisung, Jungkook, Soyeon, etc
But I wanna know if there’s some less known or less discussed Aces that any of you know of.
But I do wanna make clear the difference between an Ace and an Allrounder
The requirements to be considered an ACE (imo):
An allrounder is someone who can do anything, they’re pretty good at vocals, rap, dance, stage presence.
The Aces I wanted to discuss:
• Jiung- P1harmony- phenomenal vocalists, great dancer, a skilled rapper who often writes his own verses, many writing credits on their groups music and has shared unreleased work he’s written and composed himself. Wish he got more recognition for just how extraordinary he is.
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTfVbyVMX/
• Bangchan and Changbin- Stray Kids- not underrated as idols but often overlooked as Aces because they’re in the same group as Han who is well known as THE Ace to many people. But Changbin is often overlooked for his vocals but he has an amazing voice if you check out his masked singer episode, also one of the best really Buff dancers I’ve seen. Bangchan being the most credited idol in Kpop history, being a lead vocalist while also in the rap trio 3racha, the only thing he could possibly lack in is dance but he’s still very very good.
• Son Juone- Keyveatz- while I wouldn’t call her an ace quite yet as they just debuted like 4 months ago, I’m absolutely positive she will be in the next year or so, and could be one of the best in 5th gen. Extraordinary dancer, excels in both vocals and rapping, amazing stage presence and visuals. The only thing she needs is more writing credits and solo work, she has contributed to 2 of their group songs writing her own raps, and wrote a lot of her solo song DOC. She has expressed wanting to be more involved in the future with writing and has written her own songs that haven’t been shared.

Let me know your thoughts :)
