Politics Question I'd like to see Democrats push for a public health insurance option anyone can join, whether they're employed or not. How many people would leave a bad job or start a business if healthcare wasn't tied to their employer.

Politics Question How did we get to a point where simply surviving feels like a luxury while politicians keep telling us everything is going great?

Seriously, groceries are getting ridiculous, rent takes up most of people's paychecks, and it feels like working full time barely guarantees you a decent life anymore.

Meanwhile, the people running the country act like everything is going perfectly, and millions still defend them like they're their favorite sports team.

At what point did expecting an affordable, normal life become asking for too much?

Random Question How, if possible, is everyone going to survive if price of living keeps going up?

I was thinking about it today on my way to work. Is there any possible way to fix how expesive everything is becoming? And how on Earth is everyone going to keep going with inflation, rent, gas, grocery prices absolutely skyrocketing and salaries staying the same?

Random Question Why do some people think it's normal to go through your comment history before replying?

I mean this is the only social media where some people look at your past activity before responding. It's like they're actively looking for things to upset them. Why's that socially acceptable here? I mean it's called stalking in other platforms

Random Question Can anyone get perspective on what I saw 14 years ago?

This happened when I was 20 years old (2012) and I’ll never forget it. I would love any thoughts or perspectives on this. This was in Utah, I was with my best friend, and we were sitting in her car. We were discussing what we were doing that night, parked somewhere, and about 35 to 40 m away, there was this forest area of trees directly in front of our view

So as we were sitting there talking, I saw this extremely tall skinny man walking out of the forest. He was on stilts, and I remember being like, why is he on stilts? Something about it felt supernatural. something was off about it, and I couldn’t make out what he was.

my friend was talking at that moment, but her words started slowing down, and she looked like she was in a trance looking at the same thing. By that point, I just got really scared because it started to feel real, and I was like “Carrie, what do you see right now???” and she answered in this slow innocent daze and said “a man on stilts“

And that scared me even more because I knew she was seeing the same thing I was. The man kept walking straight in the direction towards and then instantly became normal height in front of us without doing anything, and he disappeared into a crowd. and I was sitting there in the car freaking out, and Carrie was just quiet and in this trance, she never said anything about it. We never discussed it after.

I still think about it to this day.

Would really love any thoughts on this

Politics Question Can we talk about how 12 men have more wealth than 4 billion people combined?

The 12 richest men in the world have more wealth than the poorest 4 billion people combined. Let that sink in.

And somehow, people still defend billionaires like they’re one paycheck away from joining them.

At what point did this level of wealth inequality become normal? Because this is genuinely insane.
