Met my partner in 2013, and one of the first things we started doing together was run around Tyria. We don't play that often anymore, but still manage to get on for at least a night or two every Halloween and Wintersday.
Recently had our 3 year wedding anniversary, and having gone through a rough patch with the current...everything...(gesturing broadly), wanted to commemorate the feelings with a shared world and experiences that have always brought comfort.

The other day in Lions Arch, there was a player dashing around on her warclaw and her nameplate was red and she was attackable!
How was this possible, I have never seen it before and have been playing since beta

Took me most of the month to finish it. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Love all the new homestead decor we've gotten. Sure do wish we had candy corn decor!

Greetings everyone.
I just restarted GW2 after around 9-10 years of break.
I have very small playstyle and as such would like to concentrate on only one character to be able to experience all aspect of the game.
Historically i am a tank and support enjoyer (i love resistant classes and i really appreciate healing in other MMO).
In GW2 the revenant as caught my eye and i was trying to find around the internet if he would correspond to what i am looking for. The issue is that internet has every point of view possible and imaginable so i am coming to you :)
Sorry for the long intro i was trying to make it easy to understand why i am coming to you for help.
Am i shooting myself in the foot choosing the revenant as "main" for my journey in guildwars 2 if i want to experience all the game has to offer with a concentration on a support/healer role when possible (of course not for the stories and open world but mostly for fractals and raids (and pvp?)) ?
I understand that T4 fractals and cm are very requirement intensive, would the revenant be able to play those as support ?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Hugs from Switzerland
Sorry if i have english mistakes in the post, it is not my main language

Jokes aside, what is this thing? Am I supposed to do something with it?

I just want to give a shout out for the whole gw2 team, I am almost into tears after 13 years back to where I started doing another starting area quest as the credits role is just phenomenal.
Everything as it was, as we were and as we are, simple , naive and with a wondrous feeling of exploration, starting our journey with a very simple quest. A request that would mark the same core that pushed us on our journey, an act of kindness, trying to help a random person.
Just .. brilliant.
Thanks for this journey, marking over a decade of memories to cherish.
Stay safe!

Thought I might farm my karka shells for Kudzu but rethinking it now, I thought Dredge were annoying but this is next level, I hope whoever invented them steps on legos every time they get out of bed
Aggros from 50 miles away. Every attack it gets evasion. Evades to roll a mile across the map and vomit poison puddles. Oh you caught into melee range finally? Nope going to sidestep and evade again. Immune to CC. Boon strip useless because it has continual boons for some god forsaken reason. Permanent armour buff. Oh you thought it was dead? Nah it just got 50% of its health back. It evades during its recovery animation too.
So I thought, well since it is evading so much maybe going condi would be better. No that's even worse because it just deletes all 20+ stacks of bleed just because it can. Then I can't keep up the stacks because it's constantly evading. HOW DO YOU KILL THESE THINGS WITHOUT ALL THIS SONG AND DANCE

ANet have confirmed that one of the bits of new content we'll be getting during the upcoming maintenance period is a new map in Orr. What are your hopes for what content will be packed into that zone?

Just curious to see what specialization players like to run in the game and their reasoning behind it.

I'm sure there's PvP repercussions for this... maybe? But Mesmer just feels so awful to play in the open world because you can never keep clones up long enough to really strategize around them. I can only stomach virtuoso and troub in the open world, because everything else feels like I'm constantly burning potential when I kill a trash mob and have to regen my clones again.
So is there a reason that they shouldn't retarget when a mob dies if you're still in active combat? Or switch to a new target with you? Would anyone be opposed to this?

Since Phantasmal Warden (Focus 5) is moving to Utility & ,clunky targeting aside, attacks in 12 instances, Sharper Images on Dueling traits could provide Condition Mirage/Chronomancer/Virtuoso with Blood stacks. The same skill also inflicts Vulnerability for condition damage boosting and with Staff 5 (for Mirage/Chronomancer) it creates Confounding Bolts.
Along with the helpful defense against projectiles I feel like at least for solo pve it's better than eg. Crystal Shards that most use on Mirage (I use Illusionary Ambush), assuming the other 2 utility slots are taken by the condition Signets.
Do you think it will be a viable option?

Hello! I know that this post is going to seem a bit random, but I’m making this post on behalf of my brother.
My younger brother recently told me that he feels a lack of hope for the future because of a variety of things. While I won’t get into the specifics of them since that isn’t relevant for this post, I realized that a good chunk of the reason why he feels this way is because he lacks a solid friend group to do things with. 2020 really messed things up for him socially, and he’s been rather aimless with making friends since. I think by making friends and hearing things from them, he’d have a better chance at finding that sense of hope he needs in his life to keep moving forward.
I believe having access to an MMO where my brother can connect with people and forge bonds with them will help him feel better about himself in the long run. And while I know I could hypothetically ask this about any MMO, like FFXIV for example, I think GW2 might be the best fit for him out of all the decently big MMOs since it’s free on Steam. Money is tight for him, and from the 10-ish hours I’ve played of it so far (Norn Ranger feels so fun to play), I think he’d be a fan of the gameplay as well. But before I recommend it to him, I wanted to get your guys’ thoughts on it first.
Would GW2 be a good fit for my brother to help him make friends and find hope in his life? How easy would it be for him to find a group of people he can get along with? Would the community be willing to help him play the game and get invested in it? I know that this is a bit of an odd post, but I wanted to try and help him out in some form. He is my brother, after all.
Mods, I apologize if this post is weird, or if the tag is incorrectly used. I read the subreddit’s rule before writing this, but if I did something incorrectly, please let me know so that I may fix it. Thank you.

Regarding the wide encounters of challenging fights gw2‘s late game has to offer, I feel like this hurts the community. It’s like asking for killproof on the tutorial.
You can easily solo shiverpeaks. On the bears I‘ve yet to get the achievement to cc them multiple times because in all my time no squad had such a low dps to make this even possible. Fraenir isn’t worth mentioning - just bonk. Boneskinner you can take 5 seconds out of your day to write „stick to tag“ and it‘ll work out.
In 500 clears or so I haven’t encountered a single group that couldn’t deal with Boneskinner or WoJ and even if it gets messy it’s usually good for a laugh as you can clear these bosses with 1-4 people anyway. Also because it’s so wildly pug‘able the avg cleartime isn’t bad at all.
I really like gw2’s raids but the lfg is pretty dry most of the time and I feel like ibs5 is still a better way of introducing people to the content than quickplay.

Does anyone play with minimap disabled? I'm trying it out and tbh gw2 seems like it's sort of designed for you to have the minimap always turned on. Turning it off however does allow me to feel more immersed jn the environments, and to appreciate the beautiful world designs. I don't feel like I'm blindly following a compass marker anymore

Hey friends! It's been a month since I started to play GW2 and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. Being an ESO veteran it was really refreshing to start a new MMO game, and I fell in love with the world, the characters, the combat, and so on.
In ESO I am a 100% PVE player, the PvP never appealed to me, mostly because setting up a PvP build is a grind of its own, so I was very happy to know that GW2 conquest doesn't require previously farmed gear to be enjoyed!
So, as the title says, I wanna learn the fundamentals. I have a ranger and a Deadeye already in lvl 80, but I wouldn't mind rerolling a new toon to play it PvP exclusively. What class/build is good to learn the basics of PVP? I appreciate any tips or suggestions.

He was once human, just like Kormir.
He has his own realm, just like the other gods.
He commands hordes of powerful minions whose abilities reflect his theme. (much like Balthazar and his fire-themed minions)
He has human worshippers throughout Tyria.
Unlike the other gods, however, he never wanted to abandon humanity. In fact, he seems to love humans so much that he returns every year just to play with them.

I see the event is ending soon so I don't know what I even have time to get. I just got a mail notification about the event I am low level though.
