For 90 min/day you will have to drive slower than you would like to through a school zone. Some GSO drivers think this is an unreasonable burden.

Over the past two days, two drivers have passed me on the wrong side of the road to speed past me in a school zone while the lights were flashing.

Please do better. There is no reason to endanger kids like this. Nice drivers make nice communities!

If you’re heading to the football game at Truist Stadium or anywhere on campus, don’t expect your driver to take you all the way in. Experienced drivers know alternative drop-off spots that avoid the worst of the traffic. We’ll get you reasonably close, but expect to walk a little.

For pickups, my recommendation is the intersection directly beside State Employees’ Credit Union at 405 N. Murrow Boulevard.

Don’t go into the credit union parking lot. Walk toward SECU, wait along the sidewalk by the road, and set your pickup pin there.

I drove last year’s homecoming, and I had numerous passengers meet me at that spot. I’d swing through, they’d hop in, and we’d be gone in seconds. Some of my easiest pickups all weekend.

Get to the pickup spot BEFORE requesting your Uber or Lyft. Drivers aren’t eager to fight through gridlocked campus traffic just to reach you.

This isn’t an official rideshare pickup zone, and road closures may affect access, but it’s what worked extremely well for me last year.

A little walking can save you a lot of waiting.

Obama started this, firing strays! Now we have Republicans pretending they eat at Cheesecake factory which are mostly democrat donors, in order to appear populist. Greensboro had all but one, is this a coincidence.

Hey everyone! I know this might be a long shot, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to put this out there and see if anyone could possibly help me out.
A little about my situation: I’m currently a student at GTCC, and I’ve been living in Greensboro since March. I also work full-time at Amazon and recently picked up a second, part-time job to help get myself back on track financially.
Last month, my dad’s cancer unfortunately came back, and he became really sick. I ended up taking 2–3 weeks off work to be there for him, which put me behind on rent. I was trying my hardest to catch up and was literally working every day to get the money together. Unfortunately, the day I was supposed to go to work and access the money I needed, my car ended up getting towed, which made an already difficult situation even harder. Things snowballed from there, and I ended up with an eviction judgment.
I’ve been doing everything I can to get back on my feet, and I’ve since paid off the full balance. I’m currently working through the appeal process, but I’m also trying to be proactive and find a backup housing option just in case.
I’m looking for a room to rent in Greensboro, preferably with other women, and I do have a sweet, well-loved dog who would need to be welcome as well. My budget is around $950 a month, and I can provide proof of employment and income. I’m hoping to find someone who would be willing to work with me despite my rental history.
I’m not looking for a handout, just an opportunity to get back on my feet and have a stable place to call home while I continue working and going to school. I’m doing my best to turn this situation around, and I would be incredibly grateful for any leads, recommendations, or connections.

My wife and I moved to Greensboro in early September. We live on New Garden Road near the intersection of Battleground. I am unable to drive due to having Alzheimer's disease. My mode of transportation is walking, riding a bus, and hiring an Uber.

The lack of crosswalks on Battleground surprises me. It is dangerous to cross the busy road without a crosswalk. Does anyone know why there are so few crosswalks?

I have also noticed there are areas on Battleground that lack sidewalks. Most notable is from New Garden to the Pet Supermarket.

I’ve deliberately left out anything I found already marked sold out. The goal is to help people find something they can actually attend, not send them chasing tickets that are gone.

A few things worth remembering:
Ticket prices and availability can change. Some events advertise free admission, but that doesn’t necessarily mean unlimited entry.

Check age restrictions and bring a valid ID.
Some costume contests are advertising thousands of dollars in cash prizes. Read the contest rules before entering.

Expect crowded nightlife areas, traffic, and limited parking. A&T Homecoming is happening this same weekend.

I assist a band based out of Charlotte that is trying to branch out next year to book some shows in other cities, Greensboro and surrounding areas being one of them! We're looking for ideas for good, local venues/bars that could support a 4 piece rock band (Covering everything from all genres. Artists on the set include Journey, Alice in Chains, Paramore, Rush, Primus, etc).

For everyone coming to Greensboro for GHOE, just a heads-up: North Carolina’s Booze It & Lose It campaign runs through November 1.

That means increased law enforcement patrols and sobriety checkpoints statewide.

Greensboro PD is already going to have its hands full with homecoming, but don’t forget about the state troopers. Don’t assume the roads won’t be heavily patrolled just because local police are busy.

Most of y’all already know better, but don’t even risk that quick trip to the store after you’ve been drinking. Traffic is already going to be a nightmare, and a DWI or an accident is a hell of a way to end your homecoming.

Call an Uber. Call a Lyft. Get a sober ride.

Enjoy the Greatest Homecoming on Earth, have a damn good time, and make it home safely.

Hi Greensboro peeps. I just recently posted on here having been laid off from my job. Exactly one week later I was in a severe car accident where my car was totaled. Needless to say, not having a good time!

That said, I was planning to do this regardless of the job/car situation. So I’m gonna go ahead and put some feelers out on this and get recommendations on the best way to do this or best places to look.

I have a fully furnished room with private bath and closet available for rent. I do not have a set date on availability, but I’m thinking after the holidays. I’m open to short term and/or long term tenants. Ideally, I’d like to target traveling professionals/college students.
