Hi all, hope everyone is well. Here is the voter guide for this year!
If you have questions on where to find information not listed in this guide, please shoot me a message and I'll try to help.
If you missed the deadline for normal registration you can also register to vote in person at your polling place during early-voting.
The DMV is also using self-service registration kiosks!
Link: https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/
Description:
*Your sample ballot/voter registration lookup will usually list the specific people representing your districts. This significantly lowers the time and effort it takes to track down information.
The sample ballot location is located under the fourth section on the page.
Election day is November 3rd! Early Voting is from October 15th to October 31st!
Click here to go to the Wake County maps page
Description:
You can find specific names through your Voter ID page as well! See the Voter Information section.
GoRaleigh and GoTriangle are no longer fare free, but I have included the routes below. You can also see fare information on their websites:
I have no idea what's happening in these counties, but here's their election pages! If you live here there's definitely information for you.

The images above were taken from the slide deck of a presentation put on by Down Home NC, which has an extensive summary here, and you can sign the pledge to vote no here.
Don't let the wording fool you. These amendments aren't about you, they are about corporations (think Duke Energy, Data Centers, and outside corporate interests) and the 1%, and we don't need amendments to pass the same exact laws. As I stated in the title, once amendments are passed, they are extremely difficult to undo, whereas normal legislation can be changed as the need arises.
"If passed, these ballot measures would drastically reduce state and local government funds, which could cause layoffs of educators, firefighters, emergency services, and other public workers — especially when combined with huge federal budget cuts coming down from Congress. It could mean the end of food stamps and affordable healthcare programs – which could in turn shut down hospitals and grocery stores and further impact NC farmers."
- Down Home NC
What is more, the NC income tax rate is already scheduled to fall below 3.5% in 2027, and still more by 2036 (image 5). As such, the income tax amendment will not affect you in the foreseeable future, but it will eliminate the possibility of corporations ever paying more than 3.5%, and any new legislation that tried to move the corporate tax rate above 3.5% would be unconstitutional.
At the same time, the other amendment seeks to cap property tax increases by local governments, but the wording is vague at best and doesn't say what it actually means to do, allowing for any number of interpretations they could argue as "constitutional" once passed. Regardless, taken in tandem with the income tax amendment, the mere nature of the other amendment would be to squeeze local communities of funds. When taxes levied by the state are reduced, the burden falls to localities. When taxes levied by localities are reduced, the burden falls on YOUR community. Think higher sales tax, fines, fees, parking, etc. and hits to local infrastructure - schools, roads, buildings, sidewalks, parks and recreation, libraries, Medicaid AND SNAP, etc.
In wrapping up, I'll reiterate once more that lawmakers do not need amendments to the NC State Constitution to achieve any what the amendments would achieve. Laws could just as easily passed - laws that could be revisited and adjusted over time in efforts toward a fairer tax code. Again, they are trying to rob the middle and lower class for the benefit of the wealthy and corporations, and lock that structure in for decades.
Don't fall for it!! VOTE NO on both tax amendments, and while you are at it, vote no on the Voter ID amendment. In case you haven't noticed, NC already requires Voter ID in order to vote.

There are 18 early voting locations, use the link to find your closest one. They will all be open 8 AM - 7:30 PM from Wednesday - Friday, and Saturday 8 AM - 3 PM.

My neighbor left this in the alley behind our houses. Apparently, people walking their dogs have been putting bags of poop in his trash can, and he’s clearly not happy about it.
People put it in mine too, and honestly, I don’t care—as long as it’s bagged and goes in the regular trash, not the recycling or yard waste cans.
I’ve never put any in his cans, but I have used other trash cans around the neighborhood while walking my dog and never really thought anything about it. I usually just clean it up and if there’s a trashcan by the street, I’ll throw it in it.
Now I’m wondering if I’ve been that neighbor without realizing it.
What do y’all think? Is it OK to put a tied bag in someone’s trash can along the alley, or should you always carry it home?

I could only make it out once this year, on the first Friday evening, so I let some pushed HP5 do the work!

We have this dog that we rescued after he was left by our old neighbors. We've been trying to find a home for him but have come up empty. We've tried everything. Online, rescues, pounds friends and family and nothing. We're not allowed to have 2 dogs cause our lease forbids it. Hes also very energetic, too much for us to handle and our other dog dosent get along well with him. We dont know exatcly how old he is but the vet said hes less than a year old. Hes a pitbull husky mix
Where can I send this dog or who can I ask for help? cause im all out of ideas

Hi yall,
I’m wanting to photograph some odd organized sports/activities that are in the triangle area for a personal project. Not specifically crazy/adrenaline-junkie stuff (though I’m happy to do that too), but just anything that could be considered odd/out of left field.
Taking inspiration from a photographer whose work I love (project linked here for reference). I saw there’s stuff like midget wrestling in the next month or so and some oddball rodeo stuff, but didn’t know what else there was available. If any of yall happen to know of anything that might be worth the while, please let me know!
Thanks in advance :)

Does anyone know of the best spots to get some uranium glass? I’ve just recently started collecting it (have loved it for some time), but can’t seem to locate any in my area (near garner). Thanks in advance!

Hi! I'm looking for some suggestions from some locals!
I assist a band based out of Charlotte that is trying to branch out next year to book some shows in other cities, Raleigh being one of them! We're looking for ideas for good, local venues/bars that could support a 4-piece rock band (Covering everything from all genres. Artists on the set include Journey, Alice in Chains, Paramore, Rush, Primus, etc).
If anywhere comes to mind that you wouldn't mind dropping below, we would greatly appreciate it!
If anyone is interested in looking more into what we do, the band is called Queen City Siren. Thanks guys! <3

Not posting pics in-till it is carried out for safety but at least 15-30 armed officers in the woods beside Whole foods. Drone in the air as well.
Update: they have him.
Update 2: There is still a chopper circling and i did not clearly see anyone in cuffs but the entire force left and weren’t in a hurry. Also what heard like yelling to “stand down and stay where you are” right before this which made assume he was apprehended.

I work at an apartment community in Raleigh and I am trying to find a place that I can order Baklava for residents in the office. I looked it up but wanted to see if anyone in the area had some good recommendations

Republicans are getting their asses handed to them in early polling (downvote, call me a liar, I don't give a shit) data and so gerrymandering efforts/bs are in full swing. They're trying to reject mail in ballots in pretty much every way they can. Go vote in person if you can

Hello! I've recently moved to Raleigh a few weeks ago and I was wondering if there were any recommendations for any fun halloween parties that a lot of people in my age group will be attending? Im 27, male and looking to reach out and build connections!

My Canon G7X Mark lll was taken (can’t say the real word..?) this past Saturday night at a small bonfire in downtown Raleigh. The person went through my friend and I’s purses which were hidden under our jackets. It was either a teen or a young adult and I’m wondering if someone could let me know if they have seen any postings about selling it and if anyone could please let me know. I had a surprise birthday party thrown for me right before going and it has all my photos from that night and thousands of other photos. I’m making a police report tomorrow on my actual birthday because I’m turning 18. This has really ruined my week, it’s my most important thing I own and there are thousands of memories on the SD card in it. If you know or have seen anything please let me know, I’m begging.

Hello my boyfriends long haired cat (6 years old) recently developed some terrible matts in his fur, this has never been an issue with him and he doesn’t typically do great at the vet (he’s a sweetie just not at the vet lol) so I’m concerned if we bring him to any regular groomer they will turn him away due to him not being the easiest to work with.
Does anyone have any recommendations in the Raleigh area? We’re near Walnut Creek area but willing to travel. Thanks 🙏🏼
