Question Would this catch trout?

Put 3 super small beads on a small bait holder hook and glued it in place so it’s super small, do you think the hook gap would hook a trout?

What is the most overrated fish to catch?

In my opinion, largemouth bass are probably the least interesting freshwater fish to catch. They don't even fight that hard

Fall Rainbow

First Fall Steelhead fish tale.

Plans fell through to go out on big water in a boat so I decided to wade from 7am-12pm, sparse cloud cover, 55 degrees and little wind.

Half way into my journey against the current I spook a trophy brown trout by telegraphing a log underwater, the moment the log snapped under my weight I see a long dark brown shadow dart from under a brush pile into a deep pool.

I decided to walk two more bends, assuming I’ve spooked my only shot at a biggin’. On the last tail out I cast up stream, letting my spinner float and flutter until a tug interrupts its trajectory. Hook set, sprint down stream, scoop of the net and a quick capture and release was all we wrote.

Caught in Leesburg, VA. I don't think it's a regular bluegill, I was thinking either a pumpkinseed or a greengill hybrid? This pond is filled with green sunfish so it's not out of the question

Freshwater Help identifying these fish

I was fishing a little trout stream with some micro gear. Caught these two minnows and have never seen anything like these in my area. I couldn't get pics of their tails because they wouldn't hold still long enough. I feel like they're some kind of shiners but not totally sure.

Recovered some frogs when I cleaned out the window wells last week. Used them to hook multiple bass yesterday (not legal here in October) and kept this fat cat. I’d guess 5-6lbs, put up a respectable fight.

Question Removing knobs.

Is there a way to remove the knobs from the oem handle of the Daiwa Luna 300? I’m making a longer custom handle and I’d like to reuse the old knobs if I can.

Freshwater Alligator Gar in the Red River

hey yall, i’m not in oklahoma for too much longer, and i’d really like to try and land an alligator gar before heading back home. NC doesn’t have alligator gar. i went down to texoma and fished there on the beaches near the red river’s opening, but no luck the whole time using cut carp. i’ve read that they’re in the red river as a whole, so i was wondering if anybody had any recommendations for sections of the river (or similar) near Altus or Lawton within a couple hours or so where the gar are usually pretty consistent. I know there’s a lot of dried out parts of the river now, so i can’t much trust the aerial view on apple/google maps. I know Olustee was bone dry last i drove over it there. Closer is better—spending the weekend rawdogging the Texoma beach in nothing but a folding lawn chair thing wasn’t too ideal, especially when i started hearing pigs at night, so something i can make a day trip maybe sunrise to sunset would be perfect. no problem driving a couple hours if i have to, though. i know trinity and i guess other spots in texoma would be ideal, but it’s just a time constraint thing. i usually only have about a day i can spend away from Altus each week

if the river is just too dry or shallow until closer to texoma anyways, ill be back here or to texas eventually. just thought id ask before giving up on them

Saltwater One hour lure session PB

Just the one fish with two shots because it’s a current PB and why the hell wouldn’t I want to show it off. Caught on a white paddle tail in the harbour. Two fish hunting together the first strike was a miss where the fish darted from about 1m away and then from the shadows came this. My drag started screaming as it pulled towards the harbour gate to the left of me. I would say that’s an excellent result. Now to wake up in 4hrs to begin my day.

Pretty happy! I scored two brand new ugly stick gx2 combos, some tackle boxes, and lures. Oh yea a 200 yard spool of seaguar 15lb flouro. Which I will use as leader material. How did I do?

Caught this lil striped bass(southern Illinois) and the stripes are misaligned partway through. Just curious how common this is.

Night surf bite. This croaker wouldn’t stop making noise!

Sent a bait out into the dark on the surf rod and hooked into this solid white croaker (Pennahia argentata) here in Korea. The moment it cleared the water, that loud croaking sound started right up. Always a fun surprise during a night surf session. Tight lines everyone!

What’s the one fishing gear you swear by and why!

I’m looking for ideas on what to get my husband for Christmas. We live in NW Florida/ panhandle and he fishes in the bay a lot and offshore fishing occasionally.

Mostly catches redfish, bass, snapper. Any suggestions for this type of fishing would be really appreciated.

It can be stocking stuffer ideas to something bigger. He’s got plenty of poles. Thanks.
