I’m the dude who’s been whining about how hard pike are to catch, starting to get the hang of it tho!

Unsure if this is someone’s secret spot or not so I won’t reveal location on this one, but it was on a 1oz off-brand kastmaster style spoon, barbless

My wife booked a couple of days at the resort and wants to do spa things. I do not want to do spa things, so I'm going to bring some spinning gear. Where would you go if you were in my shoes?

Hi-just found a TFO ROD and Ross reel on 44th Ave in wheat ridge. If you think it’s yours dm me the models and I’ll get it back to you. Bad news is the rod has a broken section.

Caught in Chatfield early summer. I think it's a rainbow. Any way to tell if it's a stocker?

It was 23" and quite delicious.

Caught on the N Fork S Platte with a yellow Panther Martin.

Obviously won’t say where but 100% sure it was a golden as I didn’t believe it either and verified it with a wildlife biologist 😭

Any tips for fishing at shadow mountain lake this time of year?

I’ve fished the Big Thompson every year for the last 25 years and this year have had outrageously bad luck. I used to catch fish by accident (hooking gills/fins) in this river but have had only two fish this year and those both in May. I use both spinners and flies and have had the same luck with both. Anyone else share this experience this year?

Sorry for the off-topic post, but I am looking to find "local" graphic designers in Colorado for a project in the fly fishing space. Bonus if you're near Denver. DM me if you have questions.

And no, GPT AI "art" will not work - must be a real Illustrator type designer.

Thanks

Dream stream. Conventional tackle.

some beautiful wild rainbows and wild browns!

I keep seeing bobbers stuck in the fence on the building at ladora lake dam, which usually means they’re illegally using bait.

Speaking of using bait, I always see empty worm buckets that get left behind, because in addition to using bait illegally, fuck picking up your trash right?🙄

Then of course there are families who show up and I can very clearly see them fishing with bobbers, and 10 times out of 10.0000000001 they are using live bait.

I almost NEVER see game wardens there, only time was on a busy Sunday. As much as I hate to say it, we need much stronger enforcement there

Hella day on the Blue today. Perfect weather. Fishing forecast says throw size 22-24 of whatever, nope. Nothing less than 18/16 for me … 15 fish day (counting the <12ers).
Side note, this dingus left his net at home, so big shout out 🙏 to Cutthroat Anglers for the loaner. Even though those nets should be outlawed!!! lol

Crushed topwater not 3 ft from shoreline in 3ft of water!

Quick fish on the middle Boulder this AM.

Didn’t expect this to take a pheasant tail 😂

Anyone get into sbc since they’ve bumped the flows (finally)?

Well, technically a wiper but still. Was fishing for pike but this guy hit instead. Crushed the glide bait

I fished the headwaters in the summer and had a blast. My next open fishing weekend is a couple of weeks away. Anyone fished above Platoro in November?

First Kokanee on my fly rod (and ever)

I showed this to someone and they thought it might be a pureback greenback trout. If true, it was caught in a location that is not known to have them, and no history of stocking in the CPW fishing atlas. I assumed it was a cuttie, but now am curious.

Can someone tell me what kind of trout this is?

Edit: I wrote to CPW, providing a few additional pictures and the location where I caught it. They responded with the following: "Nice catch. I am gonna say that this is most likely not a greenback. A lot of cutthroats were stocked around the state in the 19th century that were believed to be greenbacks but after genetic research they were not and were a "mutt" of multiple strains of cutthroat. To me this looks like a blue lineage cutthroat trout, a strain of the colorado river cutthroat."

Hey guys I used to live in CO for a few years and unfortunately had to move. I am visiting Denver in 1 week and I’m super excited to fish for my favorite fish ever: trout. When I lived there I made many trips to the dream stream St Mary’s glacier black canyon of the gunnison and many more rivers and streams. I have never caught a kokanee and I would absolutely love to catch one I just don’t know where to go. I saw one time at the dream stream but my girlfriend is also coming with me and she’s never caught a fish. I want to take her to somewhere where she can for sure catch a fish, somewhere I can catch a kokanee, and somewhere that isn’t too treacherous to drive to bc I drive a mustang. I am fishing with spinning rods using rooster tails, trout magnets, and night crawlers for her so that she can get a guaranteed catch. I only have one pair of waders that go up to my hip my old waders that went up to my chest have a hole in the pant leg.
