PSA A few tips if you’re posting for help

FedEx issues seem to be everywhere lately on this sub Missing packages, stuck tracking, “delivered” when it’s clearly not… we’ve all been there. But it’s hard to answer these ?s without context …

If you’re posting here for help, try to include the basics so people can actually offer advice:

What was the item? Where did you order it from? Was a signature required? What does the tracking say, and how long has it been stuck?

Also mention if you’ve already contacted FedEx or the seller. It helps people know what you’ve tried and what’s worth doing next.

Ask FedEx Am I right?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I ordered the new iPhone, it’s in a Verizon box. I paid $15 for it to be overnighted to my house. All of a sudden, they change delivery to tomorrow. I have called 4 times, been hung up on and told to stop calling and to wait for an email. I need the package urgently and they also won’t help me do a refund over the phone. Am I right for being pissed? This just seems like a load of bullshit. I have never had a good experience with FedEx when receiving expensive items.
Filed support claim at 11:16 this morning. It is now 4:38, OG ETA was by 8:00 tonight. Claim still says “in progress”.
Why does this happen and do you think my package will be delivered today?

Ask FedEx International wedding dress shipment held by FedEx - Need Advice!

Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone here has experience with international shipping through FedEx because I'm honestly at a loss about what to do.

I recently sold my wedding dress through Stillwhite (a website where people can buy and sell pre-owned wedding dresses). I'm located in Canada, and the buyer is in the USA.

I went to a FedEx third-party shipping retailer to ship the dress. Everything seemed to go smoothly. We filled out the commercial invoice, the package was accepted, and I went on my merry way thinking everything was taken care of.
Fast forward three days, and my dress is STILL being held at a FedEx shipping facility near me. I received an email stating that there is a clearance delay and that additional information about the shipment is required. No big deal, I figured I'd just provide whatever documentation they needed.

I immediately called FedEx customer service. The agent told me that an email would be sent to me requesting additional information about the shipment, and that the buyer would receive an email requesting their Social Insurance Number and a DocuSign signature.
Something about this didn't sit right with me, so I went back to the third-party retailer where I originally shipped the dress. They were more concerned about the situation and advised me to go directly to a FedEx Ship Centre.

So I did.

At the FedEx Ship Centre, I was told that my dress should NEVER have been shipped in the first place because used clothing is NOT ALLOWED to be shipped through FedEx International Ground between Canada and the USA, and can ONLY be shipped through FedEx Express.
Their recommendation was to have the package immediately redirected back to my house and then reship it using Express.

WHAT?!

At this point, I'm completely confused. I decided to call FedEx one more time, just to see if I could get a different answer. The agent I spoke with told me that used clothing IS allowed to be shipped internationally through Ground, and that the shipment simply needs to go through customs clearance. They said that both the buyer and I would receive emails within 24 hours requesting whatever information is needed.

So now I have three different people telling me three different things.

The person at the FedEx Ship Centre (who I believe was speaking with someone at their distribution/head office) made it sound like this package would never clear customs. Meanwhile, customer service is telling me to just wait for the emails.

I've been reading Reddit posts for HOURS trying to figure out what happens in these situations, and I've seen so many different outcomes.
I'm worried about:
•    My dress being stuck indefinitely.
•    The package being returned to me.
•    Having to pay additional shipping fees to resend it.
•    The buyer getting frustrated or potentially opening a dispute because they haven't received their dress.

Has anyone from Canada shipped used clothing to the USA through FedEx International Ground? Did your package eventually clear customs?

Should I wait for the clearance emails, or should I try to have the package redirected back to me and reship it through Express?

Any advice or personal experiences would be SO appreciated. I'm honestly just trying to get this dress safely to its new owner without this turning into a complete nightmare.

Thank you!!

Ask FedEx Delivery failure due to missing suite number for FedEx Store

Post image
1 Upvotes

I don't know if there's anything else I can do, but I thought I would post this and see if there's something I haven't tried. I purchased a laptop from Asus, and I noticed they had an option to ship to a FedEx location, which I thought would be convenient so I didn't have to be home. Unfortunately, in Asus's system the address for the FedEx location didn't include the suite number. First delivery attempt failed with "Incorrect address - Apartment/Suite number". I called the store and they said they didn't reject anything, but they saw the suite was missing so they transferred me to customer service, who said they couldn't update the suite number due to restrictions on the shipping by Asus. I called the depot my laptop was shipped out of, asked if I could pick it up when it was brought back at the end of the day, but again, restrictions by the shipper. He was helpful and said he could correct the suite number and would call the driver to see if they could swing back to the store. I never heard back.

That night I got a call from FedEx support about the failed delivery and oddly enough, he asked me for information to update the suite number, which is what I thought the guy from the depot did. With two support calls, I thought I should be good to go. Then around the same time next day, another failed delivery attempt due to the same error. This time I called the depot immediately, where I was assured that the address had been updated and that he would try to contact the driver. No dice. Someone recommended contacting FedEx support via Twitter/X, but they said the address was updated and that tomorrow the delivery should go through. It just confusing because this isn't going to my house. This is a ship to store for pickup, so I would think a missing suite number wouldn't be a problem because it's obviously going to a FedEx store. Asus is legendarily unhelpful about updating shipping info, and the laptop I ordered is now out of stock, so I can't just let it go back and place a new order. Is there anything I could be trying that I haven't mentioned? If it matters, this is ground shipping.

Time Sensitive FedEx has made getting my wedding tuxedo an absolute nightmare, and nobody seems able to fix it

I'm in Raleigh, NC, and at my wit's end with FedEx. I have two packages containing my wedding tuxedo, I'm leaving tomorrow morning, and if I don't have my tuxedo by the end of today, I'm in serious trouble.

This has gone far beyond an ordinary late delivery. I've spent hours trying to get someone at FedEx to take responsibility, and despite repeated calls, complaints, and conversations with several representatives and supervisors, I still don't have a reliable plan for receiving my packages.

Here's the timeline.

The delivery attempts

My apartment complex has apartments above ground-floor shops. Other carriers, including UPS, USPS, and DHL, routinely deliver to the apartments or leasing office.

FedEx, however, has repeatedly marked my packages as undeliverable with messages like "Customer not available or business closed."

On October 25, both packages were marked as attempted at approximately 9:32 AM. I was physically outside between 8 and 10 AM and did not see a FedEx vehicle arrive. I also checked with the leasing office, which confirmed it had not received a FedEx delivery.

On October 26, at least one package was marked out for delivery and later received another delivery exception. The tracking page included a photo of a rear service entrance to the building. This is a resident-only door that the apartment complex advises residents not to use because it frequently gets stuck.

I cannot personally confirm what happened at that door, but the photo raises serious questions about whether the driver used the appropriate entrance.

These aren't items I can casually replace. They're my wedding tuxedo, and the shipper has told me its policy may require the packages to be returned after two failed delivery attempts.

Getting through FedEx's automated phone system is a nightmare

I've called FedEx customer service at 1-800-463-3339 repeatedly. My call log shows multiple calls in a single morning, including calls lasting more than 30 minutes.

The automated system is a major part of the problem. When I ask for a representative or supervisor, it requests my tracking number, reads me the same status I can already see online, and then hangs up. It doesn't transfer me to anyone.

At one point, the automated system literally told me, "Sir, I cannot transfer you to a representative."

I've had to make repeated calls just to reach an actual person. I've spent hours on this, and the system keeps treating my request as if I simply want a tracking update instead of help resolving repeated delivery failures.

I've tried to resolve this through multiple representatives and supervisors

Yesterday, I spoke with Eliza, who created a customer service case.

Today, I spoke with June, followed by supervisor Jian. Jian promised that the Raleigh station would call me back within 30 minutes. Before the call ended, I explicitly said that if I did not receive the promised callback, I would call back referencing our conversation and pursue legal action.

The callback never came.

I also have three voicemails from the FedEx customer service number, each containing 35 seconds of silence. I cannot establish who placed those calls or why the messages were silent, but they haven't helped resolve anything.

I've filed multiple complaints through FedEx's complaint channels. I've also added delivery instructions, and provided my phone number. None of this has resolved the problem.

I will also be attaching screenshots of my call logs, voicemail logs, and tracking status.

My latest conversation with supervisor Aisha

Today, I spoke with another supervisor, Aisha.

To her credit, she took detailed notes and said she would contact dispatch and forward the information. I explained how to get to my apartment door, how to get from my apartment door to the leasing office, and how to reach the leasing office itself. I wanted to remove any ambiguity about where the driver needed to go.

I asked if the driver could call me. I was told drivers don't carry phones.

I then asked if the dispatcher could call me. I was told that wasn't possible either.

So, despite providing detailed directions, my phone number, and a clear explanation of the urgency, I still have no way to communicate directly with the driver or dispatch and no confirmed delivery arrangement.

I told Aisha plainly that if I didn't have my tuxedo by the end of today, I'd be screwed because I'm leaving at 5 AM tomorrow.

At this point, my information has supposedly been forwarded to dispatch. That's something, but it isn't a delivery commitment or confirmation that either package will arrive.

What makes this so infuriating

I understand that deliveries go wrong. Drivers have difficult routes, buildings can be confusing, and legitimate delivery problems happen.

But I've spent hours trying to resolve this through customer service. I've provided detailed instructions, paid for the delivery management service, filed complaints, and spoken with multiple representatives and supervisors.

I'm still left hoping that someone actually reads the instructions and delivers the packages to the correct place.

I don't expect special treatment. I expect a delivery attempt that actually happens, accurate tracking information, and a way to resolve the problem when the normal process repeatedly fails.

I'm not posting my tracking numbers or case number publicly, but I'm more than happy to provide them privately to subreddit moderators or verified FedEx representatives who are willing to investigate this.

I'm posting here because I want to know whether anyone from FedEx can help locate and deliver these packages today. I'm leaving tomorrow morning, and the clock is running out.

If anyone from FedEx can look into this, I need confirmation of where both packages physically are and a concrete plan for getting them to me today. Simply forwarding another note to dispatch isn't enough at this stage.

I have tried every normal avenue I can find. I just want my wedding tuxedo.

Ask FedEx A touch confused by this customs text

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I received a parcel this afternoon that was shipped internationally by FedEx. Didn't think twice about it.

I'm familiar with how customs work in the UK, we don't release parcels until the duty is paid but... I have my item with me, in my house and only now received a customs duty payment request.

Huh?

Other Wrong package received but correct tracking #?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could help me make sense of my current situation. I bought something on Vinted last week and I got an email this morning that it was delivered. When I went to check it out, it was the wrong package. There's two labels on it. The larger white label has the wrong name and address and there's two tracking numbers on it. One of them is the Fedex tracking # (which is the same one I got in the email) and then at the bottom there's an "e-VS" tracking # which is completely different? And the second label is a smaller yellow one that has my address (the correct one) and the Fedex tracking #. It's not what I ordered so now I'm wondering if the seller scammed me or if Fedex just messed up. Has anyone experienced this before?

SmartPost Shipment My package probably isn't coming today huh

Post image

Just for added context I'm in New England so the package is quite literally traveling from one end of the Continental US to the other. Tracking has said delivery today ever since the item shipped but my package was last seen 5 days ago and hasn't been scanned again. Did they just load it onto a big rig to drive cross-country and not stop at any other facility? I'm not really familiar with smartpost but I'm assuming it still needs to be scanned at a local facility before being loaded on to a USPS delivery truck right? I kinda need the package sooner rather than later. Is this sort of time gap normal or did they maybe lose it?

Ask FedEx Can I make a complaint to someone? Who?

Last week, FedEx ground delivered a package of medication to my house. I have a long-ish driveway, so it the driver put it in the mailbox and took a “delivered” picture of it in the box.

I’m 99% certain of what happened next- my USPS mail carrier arrived, saw the fedex package in the box and removed it. The package was 100% delivered to my mailbox, and no one in my family removed it from the mailbox, but USPS mail was in the box when I went out there.

Just today I watched a FedEx ground pull up and drop a pair of shoes in the mailbox. Because I saw it happen, I went to get the box before the mail carrier arrived, but I am certain it would have reached the same fate as the medication had I not seen the truck.

Is there some FedEx hub where I can lodge a complaint? From what I understand, the delivery people are told NOT to touch USPS mailboxes, and many of the routes stay the same from day to day, so I assume the same person is doing this. I don’t always have the luxury of seeing the delivery happen, and I’d like to avoid losing my packages to the abyss!

Ask FedEx Two separate FedEx packages stuck in Hawkinsville, GA with identical tracking updates. Anyone experience this?

I ordered two phones through Xfinity Mobile, shipped separately through FedEx with two different tracking numbers.

Both packages were picked up in Mt. Juliet, TN, on Thursday (10/22) and both have the exact same last tracking update: “On the way” in Hawkinsville, GA, on Friday (10/23) at 10:52 AM.

Both were originally supposed to arrive Saturday (10/24), then got pushed to Monday (10/26), then the delivery dates disappeared entirely. Today, FedEx randomly updated both to say they’d arrive between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM, despite neither package having a single new scan since Friday. Neither showed up.

I called FedEx today, and they opened investigations. Someone followed up requesting package descriptions, contents, etc. I explained that there are two packages experiencing the exact same issue.

Has anyone had packages get stuck in Hawkinsville, GA, or experienced two separate packages having identical tracking updates like this?

Did they eventually show up? I’m wondering if this is a missed scan, a delayed trailer, or something else.

Kudos to the team Signature required calls for 5 hours of Deep Surveillance

Hello all i am currently posted up in my Impromptu office chair and table i dragged to the window to do my work in full view of the driveway because if you want your package and there is a signature required the fedex employees love to slap the “we missed you” on the door and run away without knocking not even bothering to carry the package to the door with them while they do it because they get paid whether they deliver it or not. so this is the solution. I’m putting more hours of work into my package being delivered than fedex. Godspeed everyone.

Customs issue not FedEx issue Customs and Border Protection

FYI, if you have a package shipped from overseas, it can disappear into US Customs and Border Protection. Not FedEx’s fault, but my package is a month late with abysmal communication by FedEx.

Mine was stuck in Memphis for a week after its estimated delivery date with no explanation, so I submitted a ticket. Two more weeks passed before FedEx informed me about Border Protection, and “someone would call me when it clears”. It’s been another week, no word.

UPDATE: My first post about this, concise and civil, was removed by [r/fedex](r/fedex) moderators because of “insufficient information”. On this post they’ve changed the flair from “International Shipping” to “Customs Issue not FedEx issue”. I submit that FedEx’s poor communication IS a FedEx issue.

I’ll elaborate: Within a couple days of shipping my package was in Memphis and tracking said it had cleared Customs. Then with no movement I submitted the ticket. Later I asked the seller to investigate, but they had no luck either. As far as anyone could tell, the package was lost, so the seller agreed to send a replacement (but apparently hasn’t, I don’t know why). FedEx responded at the three week mark only after I prodded them several more times. Now tracking says it’s still in Memphis, but says nothing else.

Thanks to the commentor for the 45 day hold info.

Discussion What’s the latest a driver drops off packages to a retail location?

I had a package coming that originally slotted Friday delivery. I knew it was too good to be true given it had just had movement halfway across the country Thursday afternoon, but hey, who knows. Anyways, I set it to my local Fedex office store to Hold since I had to work Friday, and FedEx is hit or miss when they come knocking on my door during their daily routes.

Well, the delivery got switched to Sunday instead. At this point I couldn’t change it back to a normal home delivery, so Sunday arrives and it goes out first morning, and the driver must have decided to stop by the store first thing, cause he tried but they didn’t open until 12am, so they marked it “delivery couldn’t be processed due to closed hours, etc etc”. That redelivery attempt would happen the next business day (today).

Well, the item has been on the truck out for delivery since 5:10 this morning and I still have yet to receive an update that it was delivered to the Hold Location. I can’t even get in touch with the store when I call, it just goes to voice prompts and when I finally had it transfer me to a customer service rep, they aren’t even local. I also signed up for text updates via the chat bot and it pinged me a text saying “out for delivery, estimated delivery is 10/26 by 12am”…well, we’re well past that now.

Do some drivers save these drop offs for their last stop? My local store isn’t that far away from the area branch location, so I wasn’t sure if they might do this before they pack it up for the day.

Just starting to get worried as this is a very high value item.

Express Complaint FedEx misdelivered my original vehicle title. I reported it within 40 minutes, and they claim they can't even contact their own driver. WTF?

I'm genuinely angry and frustrated by the sheer incompetence I've experienced with FedEx, and I'm curious whether anyone else has dealt with something this ridiculous.

On Friday, October 23, FedEx was supposed to deliver a package containing my original vehicle title to my single-family home in Tampa, Florida.

At 3:09 PM, FedEx marked the package as delivered, supposedly signed for by someone identified as "E. Eithan", with the delivery location listed as "Shipping/Receiving."

Here's the problem:

I live alone in a single-family house. There is no shipping/receiving department, and I have absolutely no idea who E. Eithan is.

Clearly, something went wrong.

But here's where this situation becomes absolutely absurd.

I noticed the mistake and contacted FedEx just 40 MINUTES after the botched delivery.

FORTY MINUTES!

You'd think that would be the ideal opportunity for FedEx to contact the driver, figure out where the package was actually delivered, and have the driver return to retrieve it, but nooooo.....!

Instead, I was told that FedEx doesn't have the ability to contact its own driver.

Ummmm... Seriously? One of the largest logistics companies in the world, operating in 2026, with GPS tracking, handheld scanners, sophisticated routing systems, and dispatch operations, supposedly can't contact a driver who made a delivery less than an hour earlier?

How is that even remotely believable?

I opened a case, contacted customer service multiple times, and was repeatedly promised that someone from the local delivery station would contact me.

Nobody contacted me.

And here's the part that I'm really po'ed about: I've now resorted to contacting nearby apartment complexes, condominium associations, and property managers myself, asking whether anyone named E. Eithan might have signed for my package.

FedEx presumably has access to the driver's route, delivery scan, and location data. They should be in a far better position than I am to determine where the package actually went.

I'm literally doing FedEx's investigative work for them because this document is that important to me. I'm visiting neighboring apartment complexes, calling nearby businesses with shipping/receiving departments, and trying to locate someone I've never heard of.

I'm left playing detective, trying to recover an important original document that was entrusted to their company.

I understand that delivery mistakes happen. Drivers are human. Addresses can be confusing.

But when a customer reports a misdelivery within 40 minutes, shouldn't there be some mechanism to immediately investigate and potentially recover the package?

Instead, it seems like the standard procedure is to open a case, make empty promises, and leave the customer hanging.

What good is a proof of delivery when it shows that somebody other than the intended recipient signed for the package at a location that doesn't even exist at the delivery address?

I'm beyond frustrated.

For anyone who works or has worked at FedEx:

Is it really true that customer service cannot contact a local driver or dispatch to investigate an obvious misdelivery shortly after it happens? And does FedEx retain GPS coordinates showing exactly where a package was scanned as delivered?

Because I find it almost impossible to believe that a company with FedEx's resources in 2026 is this incapable of correcting a mistake reported almost immediately.

Ask FedEx Marked as Damage, Delivered Same Day?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm just curious about this situation, it just seems bizarre. My package was out for delivery very early this morning. Around 1:15pm I got a notification that it was damaged and undeliverable, then around 4:30pm I got a notification that my package was delivered, and sure enough there it was, completely intact without any signs of damage or anything. I got my package and it was fine which is obviously way better than the alternative, I just can't wrap my head around why it would have been marked as damaged and undeliverable when it wasn't damaged and was going to be delivered.

Ask Customers Is this an order or glitch?

Post image

I have a iPhone duo preorder coming in but haven't received any information on shipping. I did notice the fedex app pulled up a package that said "delivery details will be updated soon" and when I refresh it goes away. Could this be my order and it just has not been fully processed yet or is this a common glitch?

Thanks!

Ground Complaint I know this is hard to believe, but FedEx delivered to the wrong house and let someone sign my name for it.

My very expensive camera lens, which had a signature confirmation on it, was delivered to the WRONG HOUSE, with NO DELIVERY PICTURE, NO DELIVERY GPS, and had someone who ISNT ME SIGN FOR IT. I hate fed ex so much. I hate when a company doesn’t say who they’re shipping with and then use FedEx. I’m not even kidding this is now the 15th… FIFTEENTH package IN A ROW they have either lost, damaged, or severely delayed by a minimum of two weeks.

Seriously, what is going on at FedEx? How is gods name is it so hard to match the numbers on a box to the numbers on a house? Do they require confirmation that the drivers can read before they hire them? “Drivers are just humans!” The lowest grade of human possible is who FedEx hires. FIFTEEN IN A ROW.

Customs issue not FedEx issue Package available for clearance

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I ordered this package and it’s been stuck in Matraville in Sydney coming to Perth and it’s been saying it’s a package available for clearance for four days now. Does this mean it’s been seized or they just haven’t got to it yet?
