I'm just proud to be here. I had never felt what it was like to have pride in where I live until I moved here. People still tell me I'm crazy all the time when they ask me what brought me here & my response is that I just like it. I just like Cleveland.
And being here has changed me in the ways I'd hoped it would. I think I'm starting to understand the grit of the city. There were times I was so lonely and scared. Being a stranger has been nice because it allowed me to rewrite my own narrative. People only know me for what I share with them, not my past. But for a solid year or so, I felt SO ALONE. 7 hours away from anyone who could help me if I end up stranded or just in a scary situation. I even admitted myself to the psych ward last year when I reached a breaking point. I actually posted here asking for direction during that time. People were kind and helpful, such has been my experience with most things in Cleveland. Kind and helpful Clevelanders, who have overcome their own shit just like I was able to eventually. This city is full of people who shine through the adversity they've overcome. It's inspiring
I had never experienced a real winter, either. Not until I moved up here. I tell myself that the winters are the price I pay for living in a cool place. But dude when I was without a car my first winter here, oooo. I learned real quick how to bundle up. And when I did get transportation back, I learned real quick how to drive in the snow. Lol. You all were also helpful with my winter questions when I posted them a year or two ago as well.
Anyways, I overcame a lot since I moved here simply because I love Cleveland and refuse to leave. It'd have been so easy to pack it up & go back to what I knew. But I wanted to stay in a place that keeps pushing me to grow. A place where I've slowly transitioned from a stranger to a neighbor, a friend, a familiar face, a part of this community.
Coming from a dark red area to a blue city has also been really cool. I can always count on Cleveland to stand up for what's right. I thought it was really neat that Cle showed out for Obama. I also really like how people will post up with signs over the freeway bridges in any weather to make a statement. People in this city will protest. It's nice not being an outlier with my beliefs. I just feel more aligned in a place like this. So yea, I wanted to shout into the void to thank this city for the way it has changed me and my life. And thanks to everyone on this sub that's ever been friendly or helpful. It really meant a lot as I really needed that when I received it.
I hope one day I can contribute to this place the way it has contributed to my personal growth.

Brock (aka Broccoli) is a 10 year old, appx 10 lb. male Chihuahua mix. Mostly black, grey muzzle and tan and white chest and belly. He's super skittish and will run if you try to approach him. Missing in the Chagrin Blvd area, the area heading toward the Van Aken district.

On Friday 10/23, my husband and I moved from VA to our dream home in Shaker. That evening, one of my beloved pups escaped through a gap we missed in the fence. He's a rescue that we've had for years and he's still super skittish in new situations. He bolted when he got loose, then some well-meaning good Samaritans tried to help grab him, but that just made him run faster and further.
I'm at my wits end. We've walked the area for hours each day, signs are up (and about to run another batch out) and all local police, shelters and animal control have been notified. He's on local Facebook groups and Next Door.
The last time we saw him, he'd crossed Chagrin at Lynnfield. Saturday morning, walking around, several people spotted him around Lomond. No one has spotted him since. We did get a call this morning from someone who thought they saw him on Lomond headed toward Lee, but walking around for several hours and no one confirmed seeing him. The guy did say he thought it was a cat at first, so may not have been him.
I have no idea how far he's gone now and the longer this goes on, the more I'm struggling to remain hopeful. Aside from the hope this morning, no one has seen him since Saturday morning.
If any of you are near Shaker/Warrensville, please be on the lookout! My cintact infirmation is in the postings and I will drop everything to head out immediately for any sightings. Thank you!!

Any insider information would be highly appreciated! I realize even most employees probably don’t even know, but if someone in the know does, it would help. UH management seems to have a set of talking points that are quite vague and it’s been that way since Thursday.
Thanks to everyone at UH for all you do!

I’m making this post because I’ve seen so many people go from zero to a hundred in an instant it seems. I live downtown and this is especially true regarding the homeless people downtown. Many of them I’ve come to know to be relatively harmless and I see everyday, others I avoid because they will follow me, beg, not accept no for an answer, etc.
Though, this doesn’t just have to do with homeless people, it’s regular interactions too. Some people are so quick to snap it’s insane. whether it’s drivers, people in restaurants, and more I’ve seen people get screamed at for basically nothing. I work 2 jobs, one of them downtown, and the amount of hostile people seems to be on the rise recently.
Maybe I’m the only one who has noticed this but it’s just like really quite unnerving and I’m not sure why it’s worse than say when i moved here in 2025.

According to Kid Cudi and Katherine Hahn, Clevelanders have a specific way of pronouncing this candy. So how do you pronounce it?

Definitely take a day to explore if you've never been there, it's absolutely beautiful.

LOCATION: Ohio , Lake Township of Wood county The closest big city to this is Cleveland. I cannot find help in Toledo.
A mental health call was made on an individual(Ry) with a history of psychiatric hospitalization. The officer seemed to twist the incident from a mental health call into a domestic violence situation to justify an arrest. Wouldn't this violate the 4th amendment?
Around the 11 minute mark the officer lies to the individual and states that Ry's roommate asked him[the officer] to go inside and grab something for him (the roommate). This was untrue. It seemed like the officer did this because he knew he could not go inside in this specific scenario legally without permission. Ry does not grant him permission but the officer tries to grab Ry through the door. WHen Ry Retreats inside, the officer breaks in. Doesn't that violate the 4th amendment?
Ry was out on bail and posted the full bodycam video to youtube. Unfortunately that appears to have placed a bigger target on his back and now hes being aggressively prosecuted rather than receiving the mental health help he needs. Looking at his other videos it appears both his parents may have been diagnosed with bipolar or schizophrenia at some point, so hes very likely to be suffering from the same. He seems like a kind soul dealing with a lot of trauma and no one to help .
Ry is currently in jail for resisting arrest. he also does not appear to have family support or any resources to help

I've lived in Cleveland for three years and spend a lot of my free time on the trails here, so I built HoldMyTrack: a free, open-source map that keeps your hikes and rides (from a watch, phone, Strava export or GPX files) and turns them into a fog-of-war map of everywhere you've been.
It also shows trails, bike paths and waterfalls, all from OpenStreetMap, and I'd like help from people who know this area better than I do:
You can look around without signing up: open holdmytrack.com and press "Try the demo", then turn on Trails and Spots in Layers. It's free for everyone, with no paid tiers, no ads, no social feed, and it never reads heart rate or other health data.

I (22M) am looking to join a DnD (or any other ttrpg) group. I’m moving to the city in about 2 weeks and think it’d be a great way to get a social circle started. I’ve played a ton of dnd previously through college so I know how it all goes. Feel free to comment here or dm me. thanks!

I’m lonely lately. Looking for purely platonic friendships. I like roller skating, hiking, watching movies, anime, crafting, and just hanging out. Serious answers only please
