RIP Donnie Iris
Pittsburgh legend. You may be familiar with "Ah, Leah" or "Love Is Like a Rock." Two-hit wonder, lol?
Edit: I was remiss in not listing “The Rapper,” his early hit with the aptly named Pittsburgh band The Jaggerz.

So what’s the future of the band Cheap Trick? Are they really taking a break or retiring from touring?
So yesterday, there has been news that Cheap Trick canceled all their 2027 shows and also, a statement from one of the venues they were supposed to perform at in 2027 said that the band will be taking an “unspecified amount of time off” from touring and it made me so upset. Now I do understand that the guys in the band need a break as they are all getting up there in age plus Rick Nielsen recently has been dealing with health challenges. The poor guy even had to leave the stage early on one of the band‘s recent shows as he had trouble breathing! I hope he gets better and his health improves!
But I'm not gonna lie, I am worried about what the future of the band will be and if this break that they’re taking really is a break or just a nice way of saying that it’s the end of the road for them and they’re no longer touring. Do you think they’ll eventually tour again in the future or is it the latter in this case, where this “break” really a retirement announcement from them? I really hope the former is the case rather than the latter where they will eventually tour again for at least one more time, maybe just not this year. I really would love to see them and I would be so mad and upset if I never got the chance to. Maybe they will release another album? I mean, it is possible these things can happen despite recent news.
Now, there are artists who are the same age as these guys and even older than them who continue to tour and even put out new music. The Rolling Stones were still touring very recently even when like, half the band already turned 80. They even put out a new album too! The two surviving Beatles Paul and Ringo also did the same in very recent years! And I can’t forget to mention, even artists like Buddy Guy and Willie Nelson were still touring even after turning 90! I think Willie very recently put out an album after his 90th but I’m not too sure. I hope it’s the same for Cheap Trick here. Or at least with lead singer Robin Zander. I’ve heard that he has his own band outside of Cheap Trick and he seems to be doing very well health wise.

Bowie spectacular to tour arenas
This sounds like a must-see. Anyone got any word on what the format will be other than the few bits mentioned in the article? A multi screen 7.1 surround set up in an arena should be interesting….!
