Work/School Hate my job but Xanax saved me. Now I wanna temper off safely

I currently took 10mg Xanax within 6 hours (highest dose I done yet - usually I stick with 3-4 mg. It’s a difficult day today at the front office and pretty boring so Xanax makes me time travel too - time passes so much faster

I work as a receptionist at five star hotel and those Xanax have improved my mood I’m more calm and easy to communicate and my stuttering is gone.

The tourists this seasons (especially Israelis have been horrible and arrogant making my nerves go crazy) but with Xanax i feel so much more calmer

Now work ends on the 31st as the hotel closes

How should I temper off slowly ?

I have some thc drops as well (yeah they get you high af) so I’m not sure how they can help but I wonder about the Xanax withdrawal

Btw I take thc drops to avoid the whole smell thing (even tho is medically prescribed I still live with my parents )

Should I start tempering off with 1-2mg per day ?

Thanks in advance

Advice Needed I Faked An Illness While My Friend Was Really Ill This Entire Time.

I, F15, am a very anxious person. I also have autism but idk if this is relevant at all. My very lovely friend deserves the world. She's smart, kind, and funny and I feel horrible that I've done this to her. I also might have inadvertently triggered her in any of the times I've ranted about my fears of getting unwell or catching some disease or something. I don't want to have triggered her. I also don't know what her themes are but I hope I haven't accidentally contributed to a spiral.

My friend, F16, was recently diagnosed with OCD. She had mentioned it before in the past that her family suspects that she has it and that she's going to get tested.

I'm happy she got diagnosed and now can get help for it, especially since she'd been showing some symptoms and I wouldn't want anyone to suffer with a mental illness, especially not untreated. But I was a little upset when she told me she was diagnosed. Not because of her, but because of me.

I think I've been leeching parts of her disorders off of her and adopting them for myself unknowingly. I think I've been unconsciously copying her and faking an illness.

Anyone who's ever known me has said that I take on other people's problems and that when someone is upset I get upset too and adopt their issues. I fully Intrench myself in other peoples suffering which isn't helpful to them. They don't need a copycat, they need support. I just don't know how to stop getting too emotionally invested in other people's lives.

I looked through some of her tiktok reposts to see roughly what her themes are and what I should avoid talking to her about since I don't want to trigger anything. The only thing I gathered is that she feels she has to walk on evenly placed floors and the tags were tagged as ocd in the video.

I just don't know what to do with myself. If I'm honest I feel really guilty and disappointed that she was diagnosed because I kinda suspected that I have some very mild form of OCD. I get told a lot online that I should look into OCD and I've noticed some weird thoughts and behaviours in myself but it's not intense enough and it isn't consistent enough for me to look into It further.

I just feel stuck. I don't even know if there's advice that can be offered for this. Has anyone else experienced this? could this even be some form of Munchausen Syndrome?

Medication propanolol is changing my life but i went about it backwards lol! help?

my bf actually suffers from high blood pressure & has it prescribed as needed but it’s actually not strong enough for him so he doesnt use it. and after one acute episode where i had been panicked, anxious & hyperaroused for days at a time, he did a ton of research, surprised me & convinced me to just give it a shot and try it and it might change the game for me to have my adrenaline levels lowered.

holy crap. i feel like my old self again. it’s been 3 days of taking 20mg twice a day (although 3x seems to be the best coverage) and the profound shift in me has been crazy. it feels like a miracle cure! i can think and i’m no longer bouncing between hyperaroused and hypoaroused faster than i can process it. i have cptsd, adhd & autism diagnoses, so my brain is constantly in chaos and i finally feel quiet and nice. this has done more in a few days than what years of lexapro has done for my anxiety.

but i did the sketchy thing and tried it from my bf first because the psych i’m seeing right now is not very attentive or interested in new meds, in fact shes been trying to get me to withdraw from a beneficial SSRI! so i guess my question is, does anyone have advice for the best way to approach this from the other side? like obviously i cant go in and be like i’ve already been taking this med and its changing my life pls prescribe it to me, but how to start the conversation about beta blockers i guess? what made your dr first want you to try it, or did you bring it up first somehow? i’m anxious about running out without prescription & withdrawing & having to go back to the old brain of me :(

Work/School Team makes me feel anxious, what should I do?

I am a student athlete. I have a degree already and decided to go back to school this semester and BOY was this a LEARNING EXPERIENCE. I decided to join the track team and I have been training with them since the summer. When I tell you the amount of rudeness and backstabbing I have experienced while being on this team. A few weeks ago I fell and got injured. As I was sitting waiting for my coach to help me, he spent the next twenty minutes talking about the championships while my knee was bleeding out. After the meeting was over, he wrapped it and told me I'm stronger than my body. It hurt so I took myself to the hospital, and they checked it and told me to take off running for a few days. This was on a Wednesday, and I took Thursday and Friday off because I was limping. Saturday there was a race, and multiple people from the girls team were making rude comments to me before during and after the race. I assumed they were mad that I was slow because I got injured. I felt very bad because I wasn't expecting such nastiness from my teammates. There was another race after that which I did successfully, but my knee still hurt. Ever since they were rude to me a about three weeks ago, I have felt uneasy around them. Last week I tell the manager of the team my feelings in confidentiality, and she promised she wouldn't tell the coach about my panic attacks or that I was starting therapy since I wasn't having panic attacks at practice. So what did she do? I found out the next day she told the coach that night I assume everything I told her, even though she promised she wouldn't. I only found out because he sent a message to our groupchat about people staying strong and being loyal. When I asked her what she told him, she told me she didn't have to tell me what was said in a private conversation. I said I wanted to know what was said about me since I was talked about and I revealed some things to her that I wasn't comfortable talking about with the coach. She told me she is "logging out of this conversation" and "have a good day." This happened on Friday. That same day I spoke with the coach for around an hour and he said he was understanding and it was up to me what I did. I haven't been to practice since because of my anxiety about this whole situation. Yesterday was Monday I tried to show up but was having a hard day so I drove off. I wanted to show up today but the coach sent a message to the groupchat saying basically from a video he found on facebook that he only has respect for people who show up for him and if people don't show respect to him then he loses respect for them. I could be taking things personally but I find it too coincidental that he would send a message like that, so I felt like he was offhandedly talking about me. I want to go back to practice to finish the season strong but it makes me physically anxious to be around them. What should I do?

Medication Why don't we have safer options for anxiety than SSRI/benzos? Just a rant.

Like I really don't want to take an SSRI. I don't.

I'm already feeling bad so starting this guessing game with SSRI's "maybe it will work, maybe it won't, remember that it gets worse in the beginning and you might get awful side effects wich might or might not fade during the time you are taking the medicine, it might take 2-12 weeks to show any signs of working, also if the lowest dosage doesn't work for you be prepared to experience starting symptoms all over again at the higher dosage..... Ah and also you want to quit taking it? Haha it's not that easy and you are going to get withdrawals which sucks but you know it is what it is".

Aaarrrgghhh!!!!!!

And how about benzos? Well, they WORK! Immediately. No side effects for me when I take them only when needed. But the downside is that I can't rely on them too often because even they are super super addictive.

When are we going to get anxiety medication which actually doesn't involve suffering when starting/quitting the medicine and actually works immediately for our symptoms?

I'm aware of propranolol, works great for heart palpations but that's it. Emotionally I'm still anxious mess while on it.

Medication Took an Ativan everyday for 6 days

I had a rough week changing doses of my Sertraline so my doc prescribed 7 .5mg doses of Ativan. I woke up this morning with anxiety and just overall feel blah and brain fog. Is this normal due to taking Lorazepam everyday? And when will it subside?
For context, I was taking 50mg of Zoloft regularly and then tried going up to 75mg for 4 days and had to come back down to 50 to relieve my side effects and whatnot.

Driving I got pulled over earlier and got a massive ticket. Four hours later I’m still panicked and can’t even leave my room.

This is seriously fucking annoying.

I haven’t had a panic attack this bad in a while. Move back to my home state this summer and got pulled over multiple times have been told by multiple cops now because my plates are out of state I will get pulled over more, which is really annoying. Feels like that part is kind of illegal but anyways lol “like oh she’s from a different state I better follow her”. Ugh.

today I passed somebody in what I thought was a passing lane right as the speed limit changed and I was slowing down to adhere to that speed limit. The sign was literally right there. Of course the cops saw me and I knew he was gonna get me before I even saw the lights come on. I was like I passed that guy a little too fast as I was slowing down and I slowed down after the sign which is obviously my bad, but. I was following this guy for a long time and everyone else in front of me had passed him so I was like finally my turn! I don’t know yeah it was dumb, but I’m sure many of us relate to that shit. he was going many miles under the speed limit and I was like why didn’t this guy get pulled over?

Regardless, I’m aware that I was still in the wrong so I’m not debating that here. I am really irritated, though that I still have incredibly sweaty hands and have not been able to take deep breaths in like four hours. I had my dog with me in the car and my brain was just like oh my God you’re gonna go to jail and your dog’s gonna get taken away and like you know crazy panic OCD bullshit. It’s been a long time since I’ve spiraled this bad and I just wanna know how you guys calm down when something like this happens. I can’t afford the ticket whatsoever but that’s my own damn fault, but I can’t even think about that right now and thankfully it’s not due till like December.

Advice Needed Going crazy over ALS fears.

I didn’t even want to make this post because I’d have to type out its name and put my fears out into the world.

I’m 24, Balkan male, and have absolute no family history of it. Matter of fact basically everyone in my family has died at a pretty old age with the exception of my grandfather who worked with asbestos.

I get random twitches all over my body. It FEELS like sometimes my phone is heavier in my right hand (dominant hand) than my left. When I’m running my hands through my hair my right bicep tires quicker but this isn’t exactly “new”. I’m also 135 lbs, 5’10”, and inactive - you can feel my scapula through the skin (back of shoulder bone). That’s basically it.

Everyday I’m buttoning and unbuttoning shirts.
At work I will hide to do some pushups and see if everything is balanced.
I’ve started walking on my tippy toes to see if there’s failure.
I’ve started balancing seashells on my thumbs and trying to flip them over with my pointer finger.
Constantly gripping things with just the thumb and pointer. Then the thumb and middle finger. And so on down the line.
Constantly opening my hands to see if the pointer finger lags or is the first to be raised.
I’ll randomly grab a pen and start writing to stuff to test my motor control and dexterity.
So much random bullshit that’s driving me crazy.
I bought a grip strength trainer and have gotten stronger with it, yet still, no mental progress. Two weeks ago I could barely close down 40kg, now I can make the ends audibly click 15-20 times in succession with both hands.

It all started when I read that cannabis collects heavy metals and that heavy metal exposure can lead to that disease.
I started smoking weed when I was 16, and mostly pre rolls. Pre rolls have even more heavy metals in them - in the rolling paper. I also live in a legal state where the stuff has to pass tests…
I’ve quit weed cold turkey as I’m sure it’s also lead to my anxiety by consuming high THC daily for almost a decade.

I want to do an EMG but that extremely tiny possibility of the unwanted result is what scares me. I am going crazy.

Health Fear of getting leukemia

How can I overcome the fear of getting leukemia I've heard Leukemia is the blind cancer that hits anyone and everyone it doesn't discriminate. I'm scared. I can't stop thinking about it. I'm afraid of having a blood work for a routine checkups because I'm afraid of having leukemia.

Every day, I see more and more people being diagnosed with leukemia. Research also suggests that people who have had their tonsils removed may have a higher risk of developing leukemia. I had my tonsils removed when I was five years old, too.

What to do?

Health Paranoid of getting a sudden allergic reaction

So for context, I am a male teen and recently I’ve been dealing with long term anxiety. This made me worry about the smallest things and search a lot of medical info. like a lot. While searching, I found an article about allergies and found out that it can just randomly appear after childhood, even if you’re familiar with the food and eat it often. Now I usually never worried about allergies and I honestly wished it stayed like that since I never had a problem, but now beacause of this I developed an intense fear of getting a sudden reaction from anything ranging from food, medicine to even body products. This got to the point where I am avoiding food and medicine as much as possible and been losing weight at this point from it, I only feel a bit safe eating food I ate like a week ago but avoided tree nuts completely even tho they’re not the only thing people are allergic to. This has been going on for a week and I even get fake symptoms after eating food such as allergy hives?? Which apparently exist and like throat tightness, sneezing or even runny nose. I talked to a pharmacist about this and the answer wasn’t really reassuring, rare but possible. Now I know that I should probably only worry when it happens but I’m also worried about how it will end like I don’t have an EpiPen and even then if I call an ambulance I don’t think they’ll reach in time because of how fast it can kill you. I really don’t know what I’m expecting posting this but hopefully some of y’all can relate.

Medication Psychiatrist said I've tried all the anxiety medications?

So I've had my anxiety under control for 7 years, since I started taking lexapro. Earlier this year I had vertigo, was neglected by NHS so was struggling with vertigo for 3 weeks until it just completely messed up my mental health. I've been feeling insane from anxiety for months. I also got burnout. I had taken amitriptyline for months before that (for migraines), which made me super depressed and tired, so my nervous system had no chance.

Before lexapro, I took citalopram for 3 years but it didn't help as much. I also tried sertraline but I had a horrible reaction to it.

I tried to increase lexapro from 10mg to 15mg for two months this year, but idk I didn't feel any better so went back down to 10mg. I've had lorazepam for emergencies for years, I took that for 2 weeks to help give my nervous system a break, but it didn't really help and gave me acid reflux instead.

In July I tried to add venlafaxine in addition to lexapro for migraines but it gave me serotonin syndrome.

Psychiatrist has had me try the following since August:

- l-theanine: it gave me a panic attack
- gabapentin: it was good for about two weeks but it gave me full body aches
- phenibut (old eastern european medicine, suppsoed to work on GABA receptors): did nothing
- mirtazapine: gave me restless legs
- xanax: I felt unreal
- bupropion (bc the anxiety has made me depressed as well): was able to take it only 10 days before it made my whole body shake
- pregabalin: just tried this last week, got an allergic reaction but it did help me with sleep and internal tremor

So it doesnt help that I react weirdly to a lot of things as well.

Today he said he doesn't have any other anxiety meds to try. I asked about diazepam as I am feeling super tense, which he prescribed and I haven't tried yet but obv benzo is a temporary solution. He also suggested I try an ADHD medication, to maybe make my brain work better and think about other things... But I've never thought of myself as having ADHD?

Changing lexapro to another antidepressant I imagine would be hard as I've been on it for years + sertraline and citalopram I've already tried anyway.

My symptoms are very body based: waking up with internal tremor, high heartrate, shaking, feeling weak, acid reflux and nausea, ibs, not being able to eat from how tight my throat is. I've lsot 15 kilos since March. I have autistic traits and apparently a bit of ADHD as well, anxiety obv, depression and health OCD.

What medications are you taking that helped you and what I may not have tried yet? I want to bring some ideas to my psych and ask him about them. I just find it weird that there's apparently nothing else??

Another psychiatrist suggested low dose olanzapine but idk that feels a bit too hardcore for anxiety.

Disclaimer: I am doing therapy and neurofeedback and TDCS, but I also need some support from medication to get out of this hole. Magnesium doesn't help and I am getting a B12 vitamin injection next week as it's on the lower side.

Work/School Got fired for social anxiety

I (20f) have been pretty shy since I was like 11 and throughout my following school years I have developed social anxiety. Then from like 14-16 I tried to fight my social anxiety by putting myself out of my comfort zone and eventhough it didnt fix it obviously during that time I was the most expressive and happiest but then since I was 17 and now the last few months it became way worse. I am scared to look people in the face, I think about peoples facial expressions for weeks, I just feel off. I am in college right now and everyone seems like a full person and I am just there. I am so scared of being perceived by others. Its not even that I think I am ugly. I got a nice part time job recently after searching for a long time and it covered my rent perfectly and was a very nice and fun job and I tried so hard to act normal and extroverted but they fired me after a month (its a social job not retail or waitress job) because they think I look like I dont wanna be there and like I am in my own world and hate the job basically, which is not true. They even said out of all the student workers they had I was the least open etc. I dont know whats wrong with me, even when I try my hardest I am still the worst basically.

And sorry for my bad grammar, english is my third language but I am improving it.

Health waking up vomiting from anxiety

I (15F) will wake up gagging with my heart racing in a puddle of my sweat. The past few months I have been unhappy and emotionally drained, my coping mechanism has been “just let it happen” or accept things as how they are but now it doesn’t feel like it works anymore.

I’ve been wanting to be perfect and just have my life together but it feels like I have zero control, it’s to the point where it feels like there’s no way out or my being trapped.

I feel so dull and emotionally empty I sometimes just wonder why this has to happen to me or what I did to deserve this. I don’t feel suicidal but sometimes I wish I could just sleep forever or inject my mind into another body. I’ve been taking hydroxzine and focalin to help it but it doesn’t 100% erase it, it just stops the nausea and physical symptoms and slows overthinking, but when my hydroxzine wears off the nausea comes back, and when my focalin wears off my overthinking and hatred comes back.

Advice Needed Does anyone else get extreme anxiety that something terrible is about to happen? How do you make it stop?

Lately I’ve been struggling with really bad anxiety where I constantly feel like something catastrophic is about to happen, almost like the world is going to end.
My brain keeps taking completely normal things and turning them into possible signs of danger. For example, I’ll see multiple airplanes flying in the same direction, hear animals making unusual noises, or notice something weird on the news, and immediately start thinking something terrible is happening or being hidden.
Logically, I know these things have normal explanations, but I can’t shake that gut feeling that something is wrong. I end up constantly Googling things, checking the news, and looking for reassurance. It helps temporarily, but then my brain finds something else to worry about.
It’s exhausting because I feel like I’m constantly on high alert, waiting for something bad to happen.
Does anyone else experience this kind of impending doom or catastrophic thinking? How do you actually make it stop? I’d really appreciate advice from people who’ve dealt with this and found ways to manage it.

Advice Needed HELP- needing reassurance

Hi, F32, have had anxiety/depression since high school. Been taking sertraline the entire time, was most recently doing well with 75mg but then felt anxiety attacks coming back, so started 100mg 9/1/26.

Got sick a few weeks ago, which lead to some sleep apnea symptoms, which triggered a new onset of anxiety symptoms during the day— basically, Im now hyper aware of my breathing during the day, basically at all times unless distracted or asleep (getting regular, good sleep still).

My anxiety symptoms that I’m now experiencing, which I’ve never had until now, are presenting like really weird and intense neurological-type symptoms… a couple times per day, I now randomly get sensations that feel like my body is slowing down, like breathing is very heavy, like my head feels thick like cotton, and sometimes even my throat feeling tight. It all feels SO real, like a heavy blanket is being draped all over me or like my brain is short-circuiting.

Of course I am going to work on getting evaluated with my doctor, but in the meantime, can someone please tell me if they’ve ever experienced anything like this, too? I think what would help me most right now is knowing that this is all possible from anxiety alone, and doesn’t automatically mean anything more significant than that. It also doesn’t help that I went down a rabbit hole about MS symptoms 😭

Thank you in advance 🤍

Helpful Tips! Can anyone with an anxiety diagnosis give me advice?

sorry if this is against the rules (it doesn’t seem like it would be?? i don’t use reddit much sorry!) but i (19f) want to know if i talk to my primary care doctor about my anxiety issues or do i go straight to a psychiatrist? i don’t have a diagnosis but ive had (pretty bad) anxiety problems since i was about 11 and its recently started getting worse because of big life changes. i want to talk to my doctor before it gets worse but can a primary care doctor help with a diagnosis and possibly meds? if i did talk to me doc what would be the best thing to say? “i’ve been so anxious i can’t really sleep” sorry if i sound so clueless!! i don’t go to the doctor much because, well, i get so anxious. i do think my doctor might listen to me and not brush me off because my grandma has also struggled with anxiety so it’s probably a family thing.

Advice Needed my anxiety got really bad really fast and i dont know what to do

ever since this new college semester started ive been feeling this kind of impending sense of doom on a daily level. its probably because im finishing college soon and my assignments keep getting more and more complicated and time consuming.

it has become impossible for me to sleep alone as well, doesnt matter if its night or daytime. i cant stop thinking about dying in my sleep or someone breaking in, ive has mulitple nightmares of a break in happening where i wasnt able to scream. ive never had problems with sleep before and this is really worrying me.

im currently not on any meds and i havent been seeing my therapist since i moved for college a few years ago. i was thinking of finding a new therapist here but im too scared to open up to a complete stranger. im also just trying to convince myself that its just a rough patch and that it will go away after all the stress is over but its becoming so hard to manage.

i guess what i need help with the most is just reclaiming my independence and being able to fucking sleep again ugh i cant go on like this.

Medication Will anti-anxiety meds help for a house?

We bought a penthouse, but found out we own the external walls and roof. We also found out that there was an active leak into the condo below. We are not completely sure it is from us.

I have been managing this situation for a year now. Including working with contractors for a year, and hired a lawyer to sort everything out.

I have been in therapy about the situation. I have considered attacking a police officer to go to jail in order to get out of the house.

I have begged my wife while on my hands, knees, and with my forehead to the floor to try to convince her to sell. She will not.

I am wondering if anti-anxiety medication is more appropriate than therapy for me at the moment. I have spent the last year in therapy. Would it be appropriate for me to contact a psychiatrist in order to discuss anti-anxiety medication?

Advice Needed Anybody in healthcare with chronic mental illness?

I have GAD, panic disorder, OCD, and agoraphobia. I am a senior in undergrad wanting to become a PA. I always wonder if there is anybody in healthcare fields who struggle with anxiety, phobias, etc. and still do well? I have become hopeless because of my obsessions (where I sit in class, where classes are located, etc due to agoraphobia) and way I’ve become even though I would say I’m very good at masking and seeming “normal.” * *I thought I should note that even I get so stressed to go to any doctor appointment, being in a hospital/ big building, etc. I don’t know what else I would do… I love collaborating and socializing and do an excellent job, but I think I just mentally hold myself back. Any advice or experiences you guys have? Thanks!

Venting It feels like I’m being torn apart (LONG vent/rant)

I don’t even know where to start with this. I don’t even know if this is the right subreddit for this. I just want to type random things until I run out of stuff to say, so sorry if this gets a little long-winded.

What am I NOT nervous/anxious about? I always feel some sense of worry or dread. Almost all day, every day, I feel like I am on the verge of tears or throwing up, but nothing ever happens. Is it all mental? If so, why do I feel it physically? There are some days where I literally have to keep myself from wailing out loud. I feel like I want to yell out in pain, anger, sadness, etc. constantly.

The very thought of having to talk to anyone scares the life out of me. I needed to talk to a secretary/receptionist today, and I paced outside for 10 minutes then called my mom complaining how I couldn’t bring myself to do it. It wasn’t anything embarrassing or scary, just asking where something was that I couldn’t find. My mom told me I give myself too much credit and that no one actually judges me constantly for the things I say or do. I understand that, mom, but that’s not helping as much as you think it is.

My stomach always hurts. Whether it’s from the severe mental anguish I put myself through, or some actual physical health problem (still not sure), I always feel like I could be sick. Whether I have just eaten, or whether I haven’t eaten for hours, my stomach hurts. Even if it’s a small meal, it makes me feel like I need to go bend over the toilet and rid myself of what honestly feels like an evil, writhing mass in my stomach. I never follow through with that, at least not yet.

My body aches a lot. I have been exercising a lot more recently, by virtue of starting college (which also provides a nonzero amount of stress), so things just hurt. Not just my legs though, my entire body will feel like it’s made of lead. Sometimes the only thing I want to do is lie down somewhere. I could go back to my dorm and take a nap, but I hate napping around my roommate who sometimes comes back in the middle of the day. I just want to lie down, sleep, and sometimes not even wake up.

It feels like something is eating me from the inside out, slowly chipping away until it feels like I will eventually die.

Whew, that was a LOT. Sorry about that. If you read all that, mad props to you; I would totally skip a post like this. If not, I understand; have a nice day elsewhere.

Advice Needed Severe Dentist Anxiety

So, this is nothing new for people probably but I have a severe fear of dentists or generally doctors.

It gets so bad that I'm close to vomiting, I cry just thinking about it and get panic attacks. This also stems from my medical PTSD which makes it impossible for me to handle IV's or needles. Not that great of a combo.

So, last time I went to the dentist was 7 years ago. They told me I might need braces at some point in the future but they weren't sure yet, and my teeth were fine. I never went afterwards [I was a kid, btw]. I guess I was kind of neglected because my parents genuinely didn't care if I brush my teeth or not, and like any kid I didn't want to, so I didn't do it. It became so normalized for me that when I tried to start oral hygiene again, it felt impossible. I have had clinical depression for 5 years now so that makes it even harder for me to pick up a toothbrush.

That was it for the backstory, now to the problem, I fear I might have some tooth decay. I don't have any pain, but tooth decay in it's early stages often comes without pain until it's already too late. I know I should get it checked out, and I want to, but I can't. My anxiety just gets so bad that I can't bring myself to do so. Which then makes me even more anxious because the longer I wait, the more damage the potential tooth decay could do until I'd have to get root canal, which is my horror scenario.

I'm going to meet up with a therapist this week but the chance that I'll get therapy in time before the whole tooth thing is too late to be saved is pretty low, so I can't trust that I'll be put on anxiety meds in time or anything similar to professional treatment.

Do any of you have ANY tips?? At this point I'll do anything to calm my anxiety and motivate myself to get an appointment.

Needs A Hug/Support Stuck in a panic loop since Saturday and I feel like I’m going insane

On Saturday evening around 8:00 pm I was just chilling with my fiancé and BAM! I had the worst panic attack (four to five back to back, to be specific) of my life. I was scared my fiancé and my family and I were all going to die. The attacks lasted from about 8:00 pm to 12:00 am when I finally fell asleep due to exhaustion.

Ever since then I have been crying on and off, my body has been shaking, my heart rate goes up down, I’m fatigued, etc. I genuinely feel like I’m going insane and I don’t know what to do anymore. My psychiatrist can’t see me for another two weeks and she also recommended I get an EKG (great, another thing to be worried about).

What am I supposed to do? I left work early today because I thought sleeping it off would help, but it’s not working. Nothing is working. Should I just go to the hospital at this point? Please help me.
