I've noticed a significant uptick in stolen images lately. This subreddit is OC only, no exceptions.
Please make sure to report any posts which you think break this rule. Even if you're not positive, it's better to submit a report than not. We always review all reports to make sure that we aren't erroneously banning people.

Welcome, /r/wildlifephotography readers!
Equipment is an undeniably important part of wildlife photography, but I've noticed that questions about gear often end up buried by all of the excellent photos that get posted here.
So, I've created this pinned thread as a chance to discuss hardware. There are two main uses that I anticipate, listed in no particular order:
Equipment reviews - What do you shoot with? Do you love it, hate it, or fall somewhere in between? If you want to share your experiences, create a comment and let everyone know what you think. We suggest (but don't require) including photos as well as the prices of your equipment.
Questions Whether you're first starting and are looking to buy a beginner's setup, or just want to know which pro-level lens is best, getting others' opinions can prove valuable. For the best results, include details about what sort of wildlife interests you, as well as your budget.
Feel free to create different top-level comments for each question or review. That helps discussion stay organized.

One of my earlier shots (film) that I had scanned via a drum scanner. It's still one of my favorites.

These are my favorite photos from a Hippo and Croc boat tour I went on in St. Lucia, South Africa close to a year ago. Didn't see any crocodiles and the hippos were very shy that evening.

This guy surprised me on the trail while hiking through the Indiana dunes. He was hot on the trail of a couple does but was nice enough to strike a pose. Hoping i didn't over edit as I was trying to separate the background a bit.

I had never seen a hummingbird contort itself like this before! This Sparkling Violetear looked like it was breakdancing on a little branch at Ensifera ensifera. Eventually, it finished its acrobatics and flew off to continue defending its territory, as it so often does.

I started photography as a hobby this year. I’ve always loved wildlife and I’m not sure why it took me this long. I started in the spring having seen someone else’s picture of a yellow crowned night heron and determined to see one myself for the first time. I’m totally addicted to creeping around in creeks and marshes now! The last photo is the very first picture I took of a yellow crowned night heron. These are all in the Roanoke, VA area.

I was lucky enough to to spot these beautiful birds over the weekend at my local spot! Taken with a Sony A7CR and 200-600mm.
