Been building custom video software called Abjext. I made this entire video in Abjext and the music on the sp404.

Pulled out all the stops for this video. Retro green monochrome Apple monitor, and gear by Tachyons+, BPMC, Syntonie, Mezkalin, and magick.string

I can't be more than happy right now, I have good 40 fps instead of 7 on my last computer haha

Here is a stack of resolume wire effects that I have made, with some analog chain : circuit bent Carena MPV4000 paired with L/S/D+, time base corrector Cygnus-p.

Basically what the title says. I’m relatively new to video synthesis and so far I have all the gear I need to take my digital videos -> analog -> then back to digital

I picked up a Videonics MX1 to do some effects during that process and love it so far - but would love to get more into the glitch side of things

What’s a good piece of gear to throw into this? Budget under $200 rn preferably

I've been having fun with this design. I've learned that certain aspects do not show themselves until after rendering, So I've been blindly setting up keyframe animation and effect stacks then accepting the final results as they are.

The music is quite abstract, but I'll be using a more cohesive composition for tonights post 👍.

As I mentioned earlier I had to change the name from Semiotic but this is the same software. Let me know if you want to mess with the beta.

Just want to put a note here for anyone who's currently a beta user of my Semiotic software. There was a bit of a conflict with the name Semiotic which I have resolved amicably with the original nameholder. That being said, we've updated Semiotic to the name Abjext. All development will continue on the Abjext github. If you're currently using Semiotic and you go to Settings>Update it will download the latest version which includes the Abjext branding but otherwise will be essentially the same software.

I wanted to make a statement here so that there was no confusion and so that nobody got freaked out when suddenly they were running a program they'd never heard of.

Feel free to reach out to me here or on IG at "@idrinkinpublic" to confirm that you're running the correct software, that I am who I say I am, and to continue to report bugs, issues, things which you're finding confusing, etc. So we can continue to build rad software that helps us make cool videos.

Title. I'm currently building a video sequencer program. This video was made entirely in that program with the exception of the music.

I'm getting a clean signal from my input for A, but it's outputting very pixelated and not good. Has anyone encountered this? Input B isn't giving me anything, so I think it's just old and falling apart.

Any input is appreciated.

Pain that exists in the mind is an invisible battle.
The moment to moment effort to remain concentrated, present, and with a sense of purpose is exhausting. I am tired.

Video Poetry can express this, albeit with an ambiguous presentation. I always let the energy guide my creative process. I dislike clear and direct descriptions of my art but it leaves me hoping there is at least a glimpse of familiarity in it.

My process to create my video art involves an intentional curation and sampling of video material on VHS, predominantly medical, instructional, and/or found footage tapes. This curated material is further processed through circuit bent hardware and captured VIA rescanning a CRT with my camera.
