And it fucking suuuuuucks.

Aldi Oat milk was genuinely one of my favourites, on par with yellow moma and oddly good.

They just had to change the recipe, didnt they... now it's thinner and tastes more watery. Doesn't really get my coffee "milky" anymore.

Recently I had a friend give me dairy products without my knowledge

Recently a friend came around who isn’t vegan but has dairy allergies. She brought around a range of different vegan snacks for us to share. One of the snacks included an orange chocolate cake similar to Jaffa she said I brought these around for us to share as they are vegan and handed me one. I didn’t think to check where she buys a lot of vegan snacks because of her allergies, she knows I’m vegan and she said they were vegan so I didn’t question it and eat it. I then went to order these in my Asda shopping and saw they wasn’t advertised as vegan. I read the ingredients and saw they were milk free but contained eggs. I felt really upset but I thought she must have thought they were vegan. So I politely told my friend about this so she was aware and do help avoid it happening. I thought she was going to say sorry but instead said all the best things have eggs in. I know I should have took responsibility in asking to read the box but when someone is telling you something is vegan why would I think any different 🤷🏻‍♀️am I looking at this wrong or should my friend have apologised after making this mistake instead of just saying all the best things have eggs in them?

I’m getting tired of this

I saw these new in Sainsbury’s the other month and they were £1 with nectar, a fair price i thought so tried the southern style and liked them for a quick on the go snack. Unfortunately haven’t been on offer since but i fancied some again today and thought i’d pay the £1.50 for the convenience but there was only one 60g southern style bag on the shelf and the rest were noticeably smaller, but no updated price tag. Decided to grab one 40g southern and a 60g roasted flavour to see what the price difference was… they both cost £1.50.
Why???? Sorry just wanted to vent im so tired with these games

Food cupboard items

Not stockpiling but going to consciously buy more tinned/ canned/ jarred/ cupboard food over fresh in my bi weekly shops. My electricity went off during the storms and I realised that I don’t have anything in my cupboards at all. I prefer fresh food but it’s a bit silly to have nothing for emergencies.

Aside from baked beans, what do you keep stocked in your cupboards?

Whatever has happened to faux ham from La Vie? It seems for months now that we haven’t been able to buy it from U.K. supermarkets and have even emailed their Head office but had no response.

We have been buying vegan quorn but prefer La Vie.

How far do you go with your veganism? (no wrong answers btw)

I know we all have different stances on how far we should go but

there's no 100% objective answer and a lot of it is based on how we

personally feel so l'm curious how we all differ in our methods to be

vegan. NO JUDGEMENT ZONE ⚠️ 🚨

I'm aware the poll isn't going to be accurate I'm more interested in the discussion in the comments. But the poll is there for people who don't want to bother typing it out.

Crack'd No Egg in baking?

I make a pumpkin pie every year and this is the first time I'm trying to make one that's vegan - I see the crack'd in asda and looked up opinions on this sub about it. It seems like people do not enjoy it as a replacement for egg dishes e.g. scrambled or omelette style - but had anyone tried it for baking? Replacing eggs in a recipe with it instead?

Curious if anyone has and how it turns out?

Kraft Foods is Suing independent vegan chocolatier “Katherine’s Originals”

Katherine’s just sent out an email letting people know is that they’re being sued by Kraft food for infringing the Toblerone trade mark.

Personally, I feel it’s bullshit and it’s awful to see that this small independent business is going to have to deal with this nonsense. All the best to them and I hope it all ends in their favour. Kraft can go fuck themselves. I’m going to order some chocolate to lend some support

Quote from the email:

> I wanted to share some news with you directly, before you heard or read it elsewhere.

> We’re facing a legal claim from Kraft Foods Schweiz Holding GmbH, part of the Mondelēz group behind Toblerone, concerning our O’bar.

…

> Kraft alleges that O’bar infringes the Toblerone trade mark rights and could mislead people to believe there is a commercial connection with Toblerone.

> Its claim also includes allegations that O’bar takes unfair advantage of Toblerone’s reputation.

> We, I, dispute those allegations.

> Catherine’s Originals is an independent business with no commercial affiliation with Toblerone or Mondelēz, and we do not believe O’bar infringes the trade mark rights being asserted against it in the slightest.

Vegan meat floss, it looked good, but I have no idea what to do with it. Suggestions?

Shiitake mushroom chips. Love these.

The sesame snacks were free, along with some noodles. Short dates, they always seem to give away things at the till.

Also got some dried mock meat, two huge tubs of gochujang, and some katsu sauce.

But disappointingly they had none of my favourite Vegan Jerky, smoky bacon flavour. Hopefully next time…

Where to buy Beyond Burgers?

We usually buy the 10 packs from Costco, for about £12-14 I think, a bit over £1 per patty. Has anyone seen the 10-packs anywhere else, or other packs with a similar price per patty (ppp)?

Or generally, if anyone can recommend where they find the best price and range of Beyond products... I did have a Google but results inconclusive

Ty ❤️

What to make for an ill vegan friend?

Hello!

A friend of mine is ill at the moment with a bad cold and sore throat. What do I make for her? All the comforting ill person recipes I know involve meat or dairy. If I ask her she'll say not to go to any trouble, but she's a friend worth trouble. Is there something I can make a pot of that she can easily reheat that will be kind to a sore throat? Is there a widely known thing, in the way that chicken soup is widely known as comfort food when ill?

Also: sore throat needs ice cream, and hot tea with honey. Is there a good vegan ice cream brand to look out for, and does maple syrup work like honey does to soothe a bad throat?

Vegan dog-themed chocolates

Hi,
As a non-vegan, I used to have Hotel Chocolat’s “A Dozen Dapper Dogs” chocolates as I’m such a dog lover. However, they are milk chocolate, so I was wondering if there was a similar product (perhaps by a different company or business) that were also dog-themed chocolates for humans, but are actually vegan. The closest thing I’ve found thus far is just some chocolate paw prints on Etsy. No offence to the maker, seller, designer or Etsy poster, but they are a bit pricey, so I was wondering if anyone here happened to know of any that are available for any cheaper…
Happy Halloween! Happy Christmas! Happy Light Party Season! Happy Winter Solstice! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Holidays! Happy Sol Invictus! Happy Whatever!
Thanks and have a lovely day and night!

Give me your best fancy foods / substitutes store and product recommendations!

Hi All! We just moved to London (and the UK) and are still navigating the local vegan food scene. I’m keen to understand where you all shop from when it comes to “fancier” stuff like meat substitutes, nut cheeses, ready made meals, desserts etc. Basically anything besides produce and pantry staples. What do you most like to treat yourself to? Which are your favorite stores and what do you get from there? Which are your favorite restaurants or takeaway options?
We’re so excited about all London has to offer when to comes to vegan food but also feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of stores / restaurants.
