Thank you for supporting Newsgroup Ninja since 2016!

Yesterday on our NewsDemon subreddit, we played a little giveaway game and asked "when then would be now". The answer was "Soon".

Soon is now. Black Friday 2026 at NewsDemon runs in three stages this year, and Stage 1 just went live:

https://www.newsdemon.com/black-friday-2026/

Stage 1 has two deals, pick whichever fits how you like to pay:

• $0.50/month for your first 2 months, billed monthly, then $28/year
• $25.05 for 15 months (that's 12 months + 3 free), renews at $25.05/year

Both are the full unlimited plan: unlimited speed and downloads, 5,919 days of retention (that's today's number, it grows every day), and 50 SSL connections. 30-day money-back guarantee on both.

For the tech crowd, because we know who we're talking to:

• Post-quantum encryption. Every connection is secured with a hybrid X25519MLKEM768 key exchange, the same next-generation standard the major browsers have adopted. Your traffic is protected against future quantum attacks, not just today's.
• NNTP pipelining. Our servers keep your download queue saturated instead of waiting on round trips, so you actually hit the speeds your connection is capable of.
• Server farms on the US East Coast (Ashburn, VA), US West Coast (San Jose, CA), and Europe (Amsterdam).

Payment options: Credit Card, PayPal, iDEAL, SEPA, and crypto done properly. We accept Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Monero through our self-hosted BTCPay server. Self-hosted means there is no third-party payment processor sitting between you and us: no middleman fees jacking up the price, no outside company logging your purchase. Your payment goes directly to our own node.

And the part you get in writing: your renewal price never increases. The price you sign up at is the price you keep, year after year. No need to stack our deals. No intro rate that doubles in year two.

"But what if a better deal drops closer to Black Friday?" Then message support and we will switch you to it. No penalties, no hoops, nobody gets punished for buying early. Grab the deal in front of you and relax.

What's still coming:

• Stage 2 unlocks Monday, November 23 for Black Friday Week
• Stage 3 lands on Black Friday itself, November 27. Those of you who were here last year know what happens on the day. It involves spinning. That's all we're saying.

See you at Stage 2.

Edit: we have had members who wanted to purchase multiple times and then have us combine the accounts, effectively allowing them to buy many months of service for $.50 per month. The $0.50 per month introductory prices are a one time thing.

• Prime Unlimited Yearly + 2TB XSNews Block - $30

Waddap y'all!

Straight to the deal page? https://stingyusenet.com/black-friday-2026/

Let us be honest about why we are doing this. Black Friday is here, and we are handing out a real discount. That is not generosity, it is self-harm, because waiting costs money and we hate that. Every week we sit on a good deal is a week someone else might spend on a worse one.

So here is the plan: 50% off StingyUsenet, starting right now. We have one plan, no confusing tiers, and no sales theater about which bundle is the smartest buy. Pick it, pay less, and move on with your life. Other providers shout about doorbusters and countdown timers. We would rather skip the circus and keep the savings in your pocket, where they belong. Fair warning: being this cheap is a character flaw, and we have fully embraced it.

That's why: as of right now until Thursday 3rd of December 2026 (12:00 CET), you'll get a 50% discount!

Use this promo as much as you like: 10 times? Fine with us!

If you have ever closed a tab because the price felt a little too friendly to the seller, you are one of us. Take the 50% off now, while the rest of the internet is busy burning its credit cards. We will not dress this up with fake countdowns or invented shortages, because pretending costs effort and effort costs money. Cheap is good, and being a bit stingy has never looked this smart. Welcome to StingyUsenet.

Cheerio!

I've had easynews for the last year. It's been good but ever now and again I either don't find stuff or I get a missing article.

I see there are some lovely ekewa + easynews and newshosting + tweaknews+ easynews deals.

Which would you advice as the better all around completion bundle? I know I should probably also get a block on a completely different backbone but just curious which offers a better completion between these two deals? It could also be that they are exactly the same.

So I got an account with Tabula-Rasa around a year ago thinking it was worth a go. I use it purely for the API and connecting to Radarr/Sonarr. Anyway, flashforward a few weeks and I check my NZBHydra stats, Tabula-Rasa is doing pretty poorly against my other indexers (NZBLife, Ninja, Slug, ALTHub, Geek) but I didn't think too much of it.

Now a year later here are my stats with it -

Absolutely GOD AWFUL. I download 99.9% English things, nothing incredibly obscure just usual stuff you would want on a basic media server...

It's pretty clear Tabula-Rasa is hardly getting used, right? So then why did I get this email -

And if I click "Contact us" I just get brought to the below and can't do anything else-

I know for a fact my API key is not being used anywhere else and is not leaked, my account has a completely randomly generated username and password that get stored in a password vault and are not used ANYWHERE else. I do not access the indexer from a VPN at all so it's not that either. I have private home internet and do not live in shared accommodation or a shared living space.

Absolutely not renewing this god awful indexer. Just wanted to make this post to raise awareness and have a bit of a moan. That is all.

Edit: This is a draft from 4d ago, so the "2 day block" is a FLAT OUT LIE. Also really funny that all the Tabula mods are spam downvoting me. Absolutely pathetic.

I paid for several indexers last Black Friday in order to try to figure out which were worth having in my use case. Below are my stats. Unfortunately, NZBHydra for some reason failed to keep track of NZB uniqueness (or there were zero cases of that, which I doubt). However, the chart does have the useful information of API access success percent and download success rates.

Servers configured: Newshosting, EasyNews, Tweaknews, Usenet Express, XSNews, Viper, Farm

altHUB:

Achieved a remarkable 100% download success rate, but also the lowest download share, despite being in the highest priority slot.

NinjaCentral:

Achieved a higher download share percent despite a lower priority. Success was markedly lower though.

NZBGeek:

Achieved a remarkable download share percent despite lower priority than either above. However, the success level is not great.

Digital Carnage:

About the same share percent as NZBGeek. Unfortunately, Hydra failed to track download success for some reason, so this is of questionable value.

Tabula Rasa:

I was on the free plan for this so the metrics aren't valid.

Drunken Slug:

Despite the second to lowest priority, it achieved a share percent nearly double that of Althub at the top. Second highest download success rate ignoring Tabula Rasa and NZB Finder which were on free plans.

NZB Finder:

I was on the free plan for this so the metrics aren't valid.

Overall:

I am on the lifetime plan for AltHUB, so considering it was pretty affordable and I don't have to pay for it again, I'm happy with what it's providing. Drunken Slug performed best, in my opinion, given it was handicapped by a low priority (definitely worth renewing). Ninja did decently…might renew. Geek did just okay and I will renew only if the price this year is low. Digital Carnage...I dunno given Hydra didn't track success. I might renew and see if I can get that working for next year's stats.

With all the offers coming, I want to ensure if I add anything it would be beneficial.

In my current setup I have:
DSlug/NZBGeek/Althub(free) and in NZBGet configured for Newshosting. Enquiring whats worth adding to prevent cross overs/reduce health failures.
Thanks in Advance.

As the tittle reads :)

I've been using nzbget as my indexer and NewsDeamon as my provider, pretty simple and basic setup but it gets the job done.

Are there any indexers I should try to get more matches for Latino releases? I know it might be a long shot!

Is anyone else having problems with binary search on EasyNews?

I can't provide details for obvious reasons, however, a generic explanation is:

"A keyword search is a method of finding information by matching exact words, .. against an index."

It's a problem for me on all versions of web search.

Support confirmed this was a known issue (finally) but it's been broken for weeks.

Is anyone not having this issue or maybe has a workaround?

Does anyone know of another free USENET other than eternal-september that does not show your IP address in posts?

Tested for a month on the basic plan and it works well for my purpose. Then paid for an upgraded plan, but the server is rejecting the upgraded features - like connection count - despite listing my new plan as active for over 12h in my account already.

Is this normal? Any trick to bump it? Using nzbget.

This was update 1: (obviously I contacted Viper about it, but searching this sub it sounds like that's a dead end - so unless you have actual experience with such an issue, your response has zero value)

Update 2: Checking in one last time 😁 I totally didn't expect it, but this is by far my most hated post. I started on Usenet long before www existed (i.e. before most of your parents shat in their diapers) and figured I'll ask a simple question (like what Usenet used to be great for). You know - in case I missed something, or there's a trick to configure stuff without wasting time waiting for support. It's the weekend and they're in NL so I'm not expecting a response before Monday. Plus parallel processing (it's magic!) besides relying on them to sort it. But even for Reddit this sub seems to be the cesspool of degenerated sad frustrated basement dwelling parrots. No wonder Trump, Putin and co play you guys like a toy fiddle. Hey, keep bootlicking - it's paying the bills. Cheers! ✌🏻

Another year has gone by and it has been a pretty busy one.

• The WebUI has been fully translated into 20 languages
• SystemHealthCheck validates your configuration at startup and warns about problems
• Handling of obfuscated downloads and RSS feeds has gotten a lot better and compressed NZB archives are supported too
• Many smaller improvements were made across the interface, features and download process
• Bundled 7-Zip and UnRAR are kept up to date, and OpenSSL and the other libraries NZBGet relies on are updated as well
• Windows, macOS, Linux, FreeBSD and Android builds moved to modern CMake/C++20 toolchains
• Overall performance, stability and compatibility improved

There has been a lot of progress, and even more is on the way

Thank you to everyone who contributed, reported issues, tested builds or helped someone out. The Discord and Reddit communities keep growing and it is great to see people sharing advice and solving problems together!

Want to support continued development? Donations are always appreciated

The latest builds and full release notes are on GitHub. For setup, configuration and feature guides, see the documentation. You can also find guides in Discord and under the Guides flair on the NZBGet's subreddit.

Edit: Thank you all for the kind words! Your support means a lot to our team and makes all the work we put into NZBGet worth it

Is Treasuremaps down?

My APIs aren't working anymore. The page won't load, and I can't log in using another browser.

Been keeping a list of indexers that died since I got into usenet and it got way longer than I expected, about 60 so far.

The big ones everyone remembers: Newzbin2 and NZBMatrix (2012), nzbx and NZBsRUs (2013), nzbsooti (2015), town.ag (2017), PFMonkey (2018), nzbs.org (2019), Tortuga (2020), nzbndx (2024), NZBCat (2025).

Rest of them are struck through here if you want to scroll: https://usenetalmanac.com/indexers/ (my site, no ads)

Pretty sure I'm missing a bunch, especially the small ones that were around for a year and vanished. If you remember one that isn't on there let me know and I'll add it.

Also curious which one you guys still miss, and did any of you have a lifetime sub on one that closed?

UPD: Thanks for all the comments, you guys remember way more than I did. Added 17 more dead ones, the list is at 77 now. Keep them coming if you think of any.

Hello,

I’m failing to add my treasure maps indexer to my prowlarr. I did it yesterday and everything was good but then there were this issues with treasure-maps website and I good nervous and deleted everything, thinking that I need to set it up all new.
Now it does not accept the indexer. I got the following error:

Unable to connect to indexer, check the log above the ValidationFailure for more details. HTTP request failed: [429:TooManyRequests] [GET] at [https://treasure-maps.com/api?t=search&extended=1&apikey=

Can someone help? Also I’m pretty new to this game. So keep that in mind please.
Thanks in advance!
