Rants Stop arguing with the prof!!

In my history class, there are a couple people who try to debate/correct the professor and end up being wrong every single time. Either that, or its someone just talking in an attempt to show how smart they are. I can tell my prof tries to shut it down or redirect the conversation but some of these people just go on and on!!! Why attend class just to argue with someone who has a PhD, and waste the rest of the students time?

Perhaps they don't have the capability to understand that it's not appropriate I'd definitely let them know

Tell em bro, I’ve done it twice, either tell them to shut the fuck up as they speak or pull them aside after class and tell them they’re a socially maladjusted freak. It works

They want people to think they are smart. They don’t want people to like them.

Argue about what though? Sometimes profs are just super political and biased. It’s good if students stand up and correct them when they are letting their political views dictate the lesson plan.

Oh I 100% agree - however it's more arguing over small nitpicky facts. The prof could say the the sky is usually blue and some kid will raise their hand and say "ACTUALLY, while it is usually blue, it can also be different colours such as..." and ramble on
